Uhh so many things happened in this one. Everything went by pretty fast crazy how they won with that dysfunctional team. Also sad end there for Hoh. All those backstories they've shown now, this story's got a darker side.

Kevin Penkin has delivered another fucking masterpiece. This OST is goated.

This world building is top notch. Some of the best I’ve ever seen. What an amazing episode. Endorsi‘s backstory is really sad.

Bam is going to keep getting hard lessons on his way to the top. He’s basically never experienced life so he’s learning the hard way. “Friends” ain’t always your friends.

Endorsi saying what we all thinking, Bam, please stop being a simp. https://imgur.com/a/ALIIzyS

Really great stuff consistently throughout this episode from the backstories to the fight animation, to the mystery of whoever wrote that letter for Hoh. Someone set him up to be in this position. Can’t wait for next week.

I wasn't a huge fan of this episode. It felt way too rushed again. The chase, the twist, the fight, the resolution: way too much for a single episode to take on.

Bam still has no character, even when confronted with the twist in this episode, he barely reacts even though he should be furious.

They are trying to cram alot into 12 episodes. Hope we get a more spaced out season 2.

Im not sure Bam would know how to react as he has never been betrayed before.

Continung on with the insanely long Hide-and-Seek arc to its final throes from last week...

And...Androssi's plan of thwarting and betraying her own made-up team is in effect. Unfortunately to those who aren''t aware of the Princesses of Jahad (real or fake), this was essentially walking into a trap (before it was even one).

To Bam though, as much as his concern (for characterization), that's where I found conflict of actions to words, the same way that Rachel treated him (that Androssi is now towards him). The more Bam shows his true colours, he as a character is stubborn, but one that is founded on achieving others dreams.

And Ho though, his jealousy has taken that memo to action to kidnap Rachel, and the underhanded methods exposed his true nature. Thanks to Quant though, the assassination was unfortunate, but contrary to Bam's kind-hearted nature, everyone else had a fight to live for, to save their own kind, and Ho's no different.

Truly are the traitors of the participants of this race up the Tower, truly showing their true colours in the face of elimiating the people of baggage weights.

In the end, Bam's decision to fight Quant in collaboration with Androssi...a victory earned, but with much bloodshed.

Nevertheless, this arc is over. Quite rushed with only 4 episodes, 3 (2 short, 1 long) arcs to go before we finish the prologue.

It's to be expected since the beginning anyways.

And I agree that Bam is just going with the flow, but maybe a hint of personality reeks in somewhere not shown as of yet.

The whole feeling for this show just became darker. I felt this episode was way too fast-paced, So many things happened and I hardly had time to react.

Anyway besides that this was a great episode, I was losing interest in the show but now I am excited for next week.

There was a lot of things happening really fast and we got a lot of backstory into some of the characters. Hoh dying in this episode is sad and Hoh trying to kill Rachel made Bam step in and protect her again.

Then best girl Endorsi was fighting against the ranked and the way she stole the badge was super sneaky. We finally won the test and that's where the episode ends.

This show has a ton of worldbuilding and we get more every week. Bam had never experienced a betrayal until now and so he's gonna have to learn how to deal with these situations. Endorsi also now knows how much of a simp Bam is over Rachel. Bam really doesn't have much character development at this point though.

The episodes may feel a little fast but at least we have a good OST and I don't think the animation is that bad for the first manhwa to be adapted into an anime. Always excited for next week which is episode 10 already. Man time flies by fast!

Quite a bit of subterfuge in this episode. Picking back up with Endorsi betraying her "team" to secure the spot herself. Truly a sinful woman being so cutthroat, she's pretty ruthless in this test. Good to see her backstory some being from that low noble house having to compete against other thrown together girls to become one of the princess of jahad for that house. Killing them all at such a young age would probably steel anyone's heart solid. Her words to Bam going very much against what he's done so far in the tower. Not wanting to step on anyone while climbing, just get Rachel. even if that's not what she wants he's determined to protect Rachel after she cared for him. It's actually really sweet to see, I enjoy Bam character since he's a really good guy worrying about others. Empathetic people warm my heart.

Created quite the contrast then with Hoh since he's striving to become stronger but can't. While Bam only desires to protect but keeps gaining strength. Really sad backstory again seeing Hoh lose everyone he cared about to cruelty by someone who was stronger. Might makes right used in the worst way. Kinda surprised when he stabbed Rachel anyways, figured he would back down after speaking to Bam. Made me sad to see Rachel reach out for Bam after being stabbed. Endorsi and Quant jumping in didn't help the situation too much.

Speaking of the action this episode kicked ass! Loved seeing Quant take on everyone the past few episodes now leading to him crossing with Hatz and Endorsi. Hatz I really enjoy with his swords put up a good fight. If only his teammates had a backbone. Endorsi using her sinful tactics to trick Quant with the badge, knew when she didn't show it fully it'd be a trick. Bam gaining that new technique by simply seeing Quant use it once is interesting. He's a mighty fast learner. Now with the test done time to see the results

This episode shows too much of a nasty reality of what people will do whatever it takes to get what they want. Bam doesn't seem that type of person to possibly do what is necessary. Sure the battle was won. But the costs came in badly. Bam I sometimes love you man. But you gotta start stepping up sooner or later. If you are planning to climb the tower in any way. You better keep your guard up or you are going to die.

They cut a lot in this episode. A few confrontations and certain characters did less in the anime that in the manhwa.

I really do like the music in this series and also that image describes what we are thinking about Bam and Rachel. IDK what's so good about her either because she didn't want Bam to know who she was before. This show always makes me want to know more.

First of all Hoh dies.
Rachel got stabbed.
Bam masters a new technique.
A sad background story.
Endorsi fought the ranker.
Rak lost Silent man.
And Endorsi's the best girl.

The B in Team B stands for betrayal

I'll always feel bad for Hatz every time I encounter that betrayal scene he really trusted his teammates damn you Paracule T_T

The soundtracks were really good this episode! They still change/cut out some scenes but I guess thats inevitable,, but what I really don't like is how they're cutting quite important details in exchange for Rak scenes that aren't even usually funny omfg he was okay in the webtoon but in the anime he's getting kinda annoying sdjsjdjs

chad Bam:
-classic jump in front of mega attack to save gurl
- masters a ranker attack after seeing it like once

vs the virgin Hoh:
-can't even keep a girl properly in his arms
- gets rkd by the chad

but wait wasn't Hoh paralyzed from Bam's thingy? So how did he regain movement so quickly? And couldn't the ranker have done something about it given how there was a good amount of time before Hoh stabbed himself (where he was just holding the knife above him) and ranker dude can move at like the speed of light? Plus the ranker wasn't even that far away from him

Endorsi appeared to be darker in this episode, had many plot twists, that final was interesting, also, we finally see Hoh's ambitions and feelings toward the Tower and the MC, btw F.

(Mild spoiler in regards to character's technique and skills)

I can foresee that this episode will definitely drive some of the manhwa lover nuts, since the changes were pretty drastic here (especially the characters). But I guess it shouldn't be a problem since no one seems to be confused with the new changes. I just wished there were better animated/choreographed fights though.

(if you enjoy they betrayals, you can open the spoiler tag below to read more of it that they have omitted)

Also, most importantly, the obsession for SPEAR REVOLUTTIOOOOOON is not enough xD. I'm guessing Parakewl won't be a meme in the anime haha.

To hopefully answer some of your questions: In the webtoon there was a "safe zone" which Hoh stayed in during the situation, hence why Quant couldn't stop him. Quant then attacked Bam with the freezing attack and told him yo use that to save Rachel whilst he sent off to try and save from other Regulars from a different hostage situation which was cut. It's then revealed that Quant only did that to give Bam false hope and distract Hoh as it took him hundreds of years to learn that technique, saying "Is he really a monster?" When he sees Bam actually pull it off.
As for why Hoh regained movement, pretty sure the technique only freezes people for a few moments.

A fast fight, just by running Oni can win. Somehow Bam here is very depressed, friend? it's just bullshit, betrayal can happen at any time. I like the scene where Hoh was stabbed with a knife, Bam embraced and hugged Hoh who was dying, this scene was somehow very touching for me.

This was done pretty poorly, It felt like "if long story short was an episode". The 'giant arena' doesn't seem so giant, and I can't even tell where they are. Bam is just boring af and obviously has to be so naive. The excuse I'm seeing is that he doesn't have world experience, just knows what Rachel taught him. Good writing would have that backstory result in a character that can do the wrong things with good intentions because of his lack of social experience. But no, Rachels teaching was the banner of righteousness. Even when his 'master' gets stabbed, he's just mildly flustered. This show has the potential to do really great things, and it showed some of that in earlier episodes but the character writing is looking flat and that crocodile chocolate bar gag can fuk off now.

Good question. In actual webtoon hoh was holding Rachel in safe zone where ranker is not allowed to interfere with regulars. Here they skip it (8 chapters in 1 episode and have to keep up this fast pace till end to finish season 1 in 13 episodes) .

The way they designed the series so far, has us just looking at what happens next rather than actually caring about the characters and how their choices can have implications on the rest of the story.

ok that makes more sense. Anime really butchered that part then cause it seems pretty stupid how quant just stood there given his position lel

ye he gave Bam a nice shoulder tap and then he could move again. Even if the shoulder tap didn't do anything per se, the time that Bam was paralyzed was far less than the time Hoh was so that wouldn't add up then

It freezes opponent for short interval of time (time duration depends on how good shinshu user one is). Anime completely butchered power system ,Focus only on plot. This episode most rushed one with most changes so far. I guess they decided to sacrifice action element for pacing up.

It was a good episode. Considering that they must cover more than five chapters of the manhwa, they did a good job. They included the majority of the touching dialogues. They could convey tension. The adaptation definitely couldn't surpass the source material; however, compared to the last three episodes, it was a step forward.

I must say, I really wasn't expecting Hoh to be get killed. The moment we saw the blade in the air, I was %100 sure that someone would go into the "Yare yare, you really are hopeless" mode and save him by catching the blade. I like this darker approach where you just can't save everyone. I hope they will keep this darker tone and won't pull some resurrection magic bullshit out of nowhere.

This episode was good. It showed Bam thinking for once. And I think the director did justice to Hoh and Endorsi by giving them a lot of screen time. They showed how Hoh and Endorsi are one and the same, the only difference being one is weak and the other strong and how Bam becomes the connection point between those two reminding them of when they had a pure heart.

P.S. I think the director and producer is doing a great job in keeping the story as intact as possible. Sure, there are no sakuga backgrounds like Dr. Stone or fluid motion like MHA but an 8/10 is good enough for me. As long as we get a S2.
