| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Making Phos into a human focused on vengeance, hmm. I knew Aechma was pulling the strings, but that's a pretty interesting plan, although one that definitely isn't kind to Phos (or the gems in the vengeance path). I wonder if they'll actually make a child. I don't think either of them would really be parent material. |

| Aechmea was behind this all along, now Phos is humanly corrupted, broken. I really want a happy ending for Phos, but I don't see it happening. "And speaking of ice..." Will they bring back Antarc (?), what?! |

| "Speaking of ice" HMMMMMMM!! Its interesting to find out that Phos is the first human. But tbh this was obviously going to be the course of events since Phos was always the one curious about humans etc. The pace has been really slow recently. Ever since I finished binging the manga after re-watching the anime (about chapter 80 odd) we've kind of been in this cycle of Phos tries, fails, phos tries, fails. But finally we're getting somewhere with her full on invasion. I really cant wait for Cinnbar and Phos to confront eachother. Two friends facing off against one another. It is a shame cause I seriously shipped them hard in the anime but straight after that they never really see eachother again. |

| Hmm.. What did Aechmea actually mean by Phos 're-acquired' the elements of humans? How'd he acquire flesh and soul? And what is a pseudo-human exactly? Like, does he still have the body of a gem but the mind of a human? I'm really curious.. |

| so this means that the lunarians don't need kongou to pray for them, they need to make Phos a proto-human and pray, or at least to make kongou believe that Phos is a human and take orders from her. Phos got the flesh element from the admirabilis when she was inside Ruler and I believe she will develop a soul (if that's possible, I thought gems don't have souls). I'm waiting for the faithful meeting between Phos and Cinnabar but Euclass is a major player here, being the true leader of the gems and so on |

| I have finished ch 88 today. I'm totally speechless at the end of the torture grind (I binged the series in about 3 days). I can't even express how I feel about the series. I'm thinking of dropping the series but then Ichikawa chained my feet to the torture train and said "Na-ah... This is just the beginning.." I can't even imagine how such a good will to bring changes for greater good and then witness literally EVERYTHING went against you. Phos is damn broken. Even seeing her smiling a little bit can give me a peace of mind. But then every month is yet another torture ride. God, I'm so sad right now.. |

I met this series from the anime and it is weird how they emphasize there this "ship" (by the last episode, by the OP/ED), what in fact is almost nonexistent in the manga. In the manga their relation, between Phos and Cinna, is just one more of the many Phos's interactions. I would say it is ranked in screentime OR relevance to Phos emotions in a place under: 1º - "phos x antarc" (more feelings) 2º - "phos x cairn" (more time) 3º - "phos x phanta" 4º - "phos x adamant" ... (disputed) - "phos x admirabilis" I become disappointed to see how after their last meeting, when Phos failed to bring Cinna to the moon, Cinna got all her loneliness solved without any help of phos, evidencing how irrelevant phos was to cinna (to the plot). COME ON, Phos was destroyed in pieces and FORGOTTEN by Cinna and everybody in the earth except the Sensei for +200 years! |

It sucks cause yeah as you said the anime put a big focus on them then immedietly in the manga it was ditched. Towards the end where its up to date I thought it would finally start revisiting that relationship and contrast how their relationship had changed and how they had changed but nope. Cinnbar kind of mumbles a bit and Phos is locked away. Now hopefully in this next chapter they actually confront each other and go back to what Phos original promised and all that stuff. |

| One thing that amazed me in this work is how it was constructed over a typical basis of mysterious universe, and from the middle beyonds the author Ishikawa Haruko straightforwardly revealed everything that you wanted to know (until that moment at least). And the mystery was not a simple "who is the culprit", but general questions to existential level to the Main Character wich we indentify: who am i? what are we? why are we doing this? what is behind the things i see!? So satisfying. I kinda have a hard time with stories that choose to not reveal anything until the very ending of the series and when it does, besides not covincing, it has contradictions and leave huge plot holes forgotten. Not Houseki no Kuni. It explained everything the protagonist Phos wanted to know until the point she even become disapointed. - After the 1st delivery of explanations came with her jorney to the moon, i for example was still asking "if their acts was focused in Adamant, why did they capture the admirabilis which had nothing with the Prayer machine? Got awnsered a bit later! It replyed even why they dont attack at night with an unexpected comedic reason. You CAN criticize some revelations the author delivered. Yes, this last "all according the plan" was really forced, but it was more a plot twist trick, and not something you was waiting to be revealed. In comparison to other works in this aspect, HnK is top tier. I have to praise even the details to NOT try to anwser stupid thing that everybody understand not as a mystery, but as the normal "Suspension of disbelief" that is expected in any surreal world building, like "how can intricate solid gems move like ninjas?", "why that souls have physical bodies?", "how can Phos and Cinna liberate that endless amount of gold and mercury?" Try to explain these would be just cringe. Thankfully the author avoided it. This is my particular view of the architecture of the plot. ----------------------------------- jaw201 said: Sensei can't apparently pray anyways since he is truly broken. Or something like that, i guess someone used with this religion would predict it easily. |

| Wow, So it was all part of Aechmea's plan?! Gotta say, The way this was going, I thought he was never going to make his move. I feel like something big is going to happen soon, Poor Phos, Manipulated by everyone and everything. Doesn't even look remotely as she used to. |

| All according to keikaku At this point Phos needs Antarcticite or at least a single gem that cares about her. Super sad how everything turned out considering she's the one who got them hundreds of years of peace. |
