Crap episode if I'm going to be honest. Not worst than the premiere but almost, especially that BS the main character pulls.

Dudes chakras were all aligned and he went super saiyan thanks to the power of love. Are you kidding me? So dumb, especially when this mini arc was getting good.

Still going to continue, but overall it was not good.

2/5 for the episode

Don't you remember that the black march said that she would only lend bam her powers only that first time?

Well how am I supposed to know that the power gets sealed off I'm still not sure it does and its still a sword

Let me clarify some things for you guys.
1. Black March helped Baam a second time in the crown game (this scene got "deleted" in the anime).
2. In the webtoon Baam only saw Rachel in the crown game and he wasn't sure if she was Rachel or not. He had inner thoughts like "If she's Rachel, should I give up the game?" and when Rachel was attacked, her hood came off and Baam recognized her so he only saw her for a second where she was "going to be killed" and reacted without thinking to protect her. He was shocked she was Rachel so you can say his mind was BLANK. :)
P.S. Although I said BLANK, he was like "RACHEL RACHEL GOTTA PROTECT THAT DAMN RACHEL" :D

Damn, the first time I see Bam about to do something useful and Black March goes "Nope, no rage moments for you homie. Instead, I'm just gonna put you to sleep so that, certain lizard girl can steal me". Oh boy, Yuri-sama won't like this.

And so this boring trial concludes. There weren't any winners in the end so all the potential thrill build throughout 2/3 episodes ended up feeling rather pointless. Honestly, it's kinda disappointing since it seems this test was only added with the sole purpose of having Rachel being in danger so that Bam could "awaken" his mysterious MC powers. Its conclusion was also pretty lame but well, I should have known Bam would screw it somehow after recognizing Rachel.

Now on a good note, OST was superb and I actually liked Khun this episode. The decision of making allies during the first trial was actually clever and though the foreshadowing wasn't the best, the revelation of them being hidden inside his bag didn't feel that "out of nowhere". It's still quite absurd to imagine a guy making people go inside his high-school bag and releasing them without others noticing such scene but well.

Overall, it was an average episode. Mostly saved by Khun, who is so far, the only interesting character in this dull cast.

P.S.: Won't be satisfied until I say it but man, that black suit girl sure was hot. Wonder if she will come back.

Nothing gets sealed off... she literally said "Since you have a cute face, I shall grant you my strength JUST THIS ONCE"... Black March never acknowledged Bam as her master or anything like that... it was just a favor.

The anime made some annoying changes. Baam didn't awaken anything, that scene was meant to show "something" but in the anime it was made weird.
You need to wait till the end of Season 1 (webtoon and probably anime) to understand why some things happen the way they happened.

As for that P.S. HEH. You have no idea:0

Read episode (chapter) 22 again. Siu also confirmed it in a Q and A.
Q: In chapter 22, we see a bullet disintegrating in midair. Is this Baam's ability or Black March's? (12/24/2010)
A: It is Black March's.

Another strong episode, focussing on foreshadowing and setting up the character conflict we'll probably see over the next 2-3 episodes. I'm excited.

We don't know what kind of people we truly are until the moment before our deaths.
As death comes to embrace you, you will realise what you are.
That's what death is, don't you think?

What was that big yellow explosion, they are already going dragon ball super so quickly with the shinsoo exaggeration , what will happen with future fights which are just who has the bigger beams ?

I disagree I think they are doing fine. The big yellow explosion was to make the characters interested in Bam.

Did you miss the entire discussion between Lero-ro and Yu Hansung? Hansung basically explained why the test is conducted. And it's not like nobody found out Khun sneaked people into the test area, Yu Hansung actually found out but he just kept quite. Remember what Yu Hansung said when they are in the second test?
If you are wondering why Yu Hansung did not disqualify Khun, well... there is already several hints dropped, it is up to you to figure it out.

Agree, In the webtoon it's unexplainable why the shinsu attacked on it's own volition and we didn't know it was a shinsu burst untill next chapter. Though anime was over dramatic but it's kinda explainable. It'd have been better if he had only one wave instead of several. Was Bam' s shinsu color yellow in the beginning? What I'm confused about Black March having time based powers, what is the power of Black March again? Did SIU confirm, I forgot. Plz put the spoiler tag.

Very interesting episode, the fight scenes were quite decent.

Though there was some stupid stuff, this episode really caught my interest. I hope Bam stops acting so selfish, he tried to protect Rachel without his sword in such a stupid way and almost disqualified his teammates.

Great episode overall.

We have a little paradox here. He acted selfishly in a sense that he disregarded his team and went to help Rachel (tough tbh his teammates weren't that interested in the test and going immediately up the Tower, they'd prioritize staying together as it was established in the episode) but he also acted selflessly by sacrificing himself to protect Rachel. Him having no strength or skill to actually use the sword and deflect the blow, he chose to protect her with his body. He grabbed the sword probably because he promised Yuri to return it and didn't want to lose it. And their team did get disqualified, if they weren't, they'd be sent to the next floor already.

The music was great in this episode, I loved it ! Kevin Penkin, you talented man...
I found myself much more invested in this episode than usual, gess it is finally starting to get better ! (Not that it was bad before but I didn't really like it most of the time.) For now I definitely wouldn't say I love this show, but I'm liking it more and more.
And I really like Kuhn ! He is an interesting character to follow. (Bam however is pretty grating...)
Now, I really wonder what's going on with Rachel. What is she going to ask Kuhn for ? Is she nice or not ? Well, guess we'll sfind out soon !

You said he's got no strenght nor is able to control the sword, then why when that big explosion of shinshoo happened he was ready to kill that girl? Looks like our good and old shonen "great power inside him" bullshit again.

As a reader I'm not quite happy but otherwise it was fine I guess

Well we don't have the perspective of ppls like you to compare and complain...idk the percentage of ppls who does either reading/watching or both...but yeah I fall on the only watching side...never have that pleasure to compare the world difference and changes...just to get it fresh get it new and like it or not all for you to decide is what we have on our side...I can only request to ppls who does both reading and watching that you should enjoy the world difference because not knowing what's being served is 10x more exciting and heartwarming than knowing what's has to land on the plate.

You should learn to enjoy the world differences...I don't do both reading and watching...so don't have your perspective and well I don't feel nothing about your call...not knowing what's to come is better than already knowing what's to come...because enjoying something fresh and new is the best you can have the only time when you live it for the first time...I don't understand why ppls like to compare picture with animation... thousand differences exists but hey we getting to see something different than your typical usual stuff which you already know the entire a-z history so I just hope you learn to enjoy new things or new changes/differences that are being made.

Some interesting developments this episode...

1) The rules state that acquaintances can't participate in the same test, and if Rachel knew about this, it would explain why Rachel was pretending not to know Bam and wouldn't answer him

2) Leroro is about to ask Hansung "If your goal is to-" but is cut off, alluding there might be some reason why he put acquantainces in the same test (My guess is he probably wants to use Rachel's group to weed out any potential threats to the tower)

3) Urek Mazino is the first Irregular besides Bam we hear about (likely to be an obstacle later on)

Questions that still remain...
- If Rachel is on Bam's side, why did she say at the end of Ep 4 it was okay for her team member to kill everyone? (was it just to cover for point 1?)
- Why did Rachel's team not try to pursue to crown, and how is it related to what Hansung said about expelling those who might harm the tower?
- Why does Leroro cover for Bam when asked if he knew anyone who would harm the tower, despite witnessing his powerful Shinsu

Yeah, some people said the scene with Bam releasing shinsu was supposed to be more subtle and not this... "shounen-ish". Wonder why making such change but I guess the studio just wanted to leave a major impact in the audience.

Ok, now I'm starting to see where the hype boils down to... the mystery around this MC, his potential, I see the pattern, indeed very shounen like, I'm beginning to dig this now.
Also I'm a lil loss with the Rachel hate thingy going around especially making a meme of calling the MC a simp.. what exactly makes him one? from my PoV Rachel wants to do something so she does it, albeit not in the best way since she does leave Baam but she is under no obligation to stay with him, they are just friends right? friends leave, not everyone is willing to stay with you. Baam is just way too emotionally attached to her because she was literally the only friend he's ever had and doesnt want to do anything other than being with her. I'm pretty keen to these stuffs but really I can't seem to understand the hate Rachel is getting animewise, am I missing something?
Also was MC about to kill red chik? from how he was shown, being the killy type was the last thing I thought he'd be, maybe he just got triggered because she almost killed Rachel to the point of being slicey? I dunno man did this really happen? feels out of place.

Just wait for it...lol

I wish they will explain why Leroro covered Bam soon. I thought he was just cold examinator who blindly followed the rules of the tower like the weird administrator we saw in the beginning. This looks really interesting because it implies that "important" people managing the tower also break the rules eventually. In Leroro's case, I don't see what he hopes to gets out of this.

I believe it was mainly to do with their conflicting philosophies on what the tests are for. Although it's supposed to be about getting rid of the "black sheep" that may threaten the tower, Leroto tests under the idea that it's to see who is qualified to climb the tower.

I think we can all agree that Khuns new hairstyle was the highlight of the episode

I am surprised that Rachel appeared so early. I thought that they would save her for much later and her appearance would be a big twist at the end of the season. I prefer it this way though.

Bam still needs better lines. Now he seems very passive and barely has any interesting ideas. Maybe he'll get better later. I can see some potential signs of development.

This was definitely not a DEUS EX MACHINA, random SSJ explosion out of nowhere ... sarcasm of course.

Also I didn't know if I was supposed to be hype or to beat my meat when I see a full tight latex girl fighting another girl in tights and high heels, anyway I had an erection.

YESSS RAKKKK MY GATOR RAK REKT THOSE NO NAMES, THAT WAS COOL, HE'S EPIC, THE SHOW WOULD BE POINTLESS WITHOUT HIM.

Looks like our protag main goal is complete in like 4 eps, wonder what's the plot is going to evolve into, just gimme more Rak and that's fine.

What an episode! It was absolutely fantastic! I can remember a few animes that made me this excited for an episode!
I'm totally in love with this! And the ED is so good.

Bam got really OP in this episode, he had to be stopped gg

And so as expected...that was Rachel but her squad was protecting them, weird...i wonder why. And apparently Rachel is the powerless of the group, or at least it seems so because she hasn't shown any abilities.

Can't wait for the next episodes! This is insane.
