He sees Raphtalia as more of a sister, Firo as more of a daughter. As for the later side characters that joins his party, So no, this is no harem. And Firo is a bird, so don't compare her to Chika. This episode is the cooloff between the first and second arc. Its what some people might call "Canonical Filler". The Firo Stuff gets explained next episode but in a very basic way. The real explanation comes later. More or less a bit before or after the next wave hits. If you want spoilers hit me up. |

It gets too rough to handle this scummy writing. at the very least when she transformed, she didn't do it on his lap so thats already a + and the part about explaining why she got so big came BEFore the transformation the way the anime did it ... it just looked like a typical 'OH LOOK MY PET TURNED INTO A NAKED LOLI'' scenario also the race part was better in the manga too in the anime the way they cheated looked flat af and when filo was trying to overcome the slow spell casted on her there was some actual effects, as the ground cracked around her feet when she speeded up as she forced her way through the slow spell... not some lazy ass dust flying up and showing us the forest from above zoomed out thingy and the traps weren't some largely obvious stupid sink holes on the road.. they were small holes directed right toward flio's feet causing her to trip, the only large holes created at the end was actually seen by everyone and was used as proof for her cheating.. not some retarded ''' we detected some magic being used'' bs .. also the spearhero actually fell in that hole too... in the anime we see 2 holes and we no idea how the spearhero crossed that shit without him even noticing there was a large ass pit hole there |

| I consider myself a Harem expert and let me tell you right now that I AGREE (to a certain extent) with the OP. Most Harem anime are written in such a fashion where the MC starts to “charm” one girl at a time until he has a collection of girls (usually 3 or more) literally begging MC for affection. I don’t read the manga, so I have no idea....and maybe it will NOT turn out that way... BUT...so far, these past few episodes are exactly what one would see in other Harem anime. MC finds the main heroine, at the beginning they probably don’t like each other or whatever, slowly but surely they begin to bond and then we see the Main heroine infatuated with MC at a very high level. [check] Afterwards, a new girl will emerge, many times out of nowhere, and she will be quite different than the Main Heroine. [check] And I think you guys know the rest... Again...maybe this WONT be a Harem, but so far this is EXACTLY how harems are. |

Shoving this constellation into our faces over and over makes it just feel forced and contrived. I don't see the issue with people having a problem in regards to that. It comes down to what people are willing to put up with or even enjoy. If you and others are fine with a magical creature turning into a little girl for no conceivable reason so far then that's great, some would envy you for enjoying that so thoroughly but acknowledge that others don't want & cannot put up with stuff like this. I'm not a fan of her turning into a little girl either cause as of now it feels like it's there solely to pander to its audience. That may change of course but we gotta work with what we have here & now. Presentation & context is key. We all knew that there would be females around. It's anime, we've all been there. The issue people have with is how said females are presented, for what reasons and how they act towards Naofumi. |

I said this bird was cute as hell and they replaced it with Isekai type of shit (LOLI) ...doesnt matter if she is not part of harem or if she is bird most of the time..now she is a girl that can transform into cute bird....ALMOST EVERY ISEKAI HAS HAREM PARTS AND ANYONE WHO DENIES IT IS AN IDIOT...this anime is great i love it but why the fuck does it have to have 3-4 chicks (no pun intended)??? It doesn't and no matter if none of them likes the MC it's still a harem and will for sure have "some harem type scenes".... I would have prefered this not to be with bucnh of girls (which it will be) but i still hope this show does great and as great as it has already done |

It's cheap emotional manipulation in place of interesting characters or plot. |
