| Im wondering if anyones been curious about what others look like in reality have you been idealizing the imagery of others? I used to I guess and those cute lolis and waifu tier anime girls always make me feel that person must be either a cute girl or a shy shouta looking guy in reality but I keep reminding myself not getting fooled by online appearance my sister was some kind of anti weebshit person and shs told me most people on forums like mal are usually either overweight otakus with glasses or underweight pp with weird or cringy personality generally most friends of mine think like these too and they tell me to stay away from those kind of pp (ur typical peer pressure case) do people on mal really fit the typical 'weeaboo' critica in terms of looks? personality? behaviors? I tend to be more of an optimist and believe at least half of the people are actually approachable in reality (not having unlikable personality or deviant traits) and maybe they are just acting unlikable on this site to entertain themselves and trigger pp off |

I'm a lanky dude with long red hair, either a mustache with stubble or a full Jesus-like beard, and I like wearing metal tshirts and camouflage. | I tend to idealize the looks of who I talk to. But yeah, they're just normal ppl tho. Funny enough tho, the ppl I talk to on here and am relatively friends with, I don't think there would be a situation where we're friends in RL. I guess different social circles. |

| Having met at least 10 MAL users irl I can say that while certainly some are pretty nerdy and what you'd typically expect of a 'nerd' or 'otaku' or whatever, but there's plenty people who you'd never expect to be into anime purely based on their looks. I always love seeing selfies from MAL users or just fellow weebs in general. It's always something I like to see. |

| I asked a similar question on one of the threads on Forum Games, surprisingly enough lol. But for me, the answer is yes. I'm always curious to know what people look like irl. But I think I have a "good" idea as to what many people here will look like, using a convention I've been to as my basis for what your typical anime fan would look like / how they would be like irl. I wanna say I'm a pretty good judge of character in terms of reading people, but that's beyond the point. |

Hmm, I only wondered about that with people I got emotionally close to. That is one of the things I only think/notice when I really like the person or, when I get paranoid lol. However, with some people I get genuinely curious about their face (looks) cause they are from other parts of the world etc... Hmm, as long as I know their ethnicity (or ethnic background), I can more or less imagine how they might look like based on a multitude of pictures I have already seen. And those pictures aren't restricted to (super) models and actors, but they also or rather include the pictures of random passer-bys in a documentation about a foreign country and random passer-bys of foreign origin I have seen myself in person. |
