You obviously care about this show a lot, and even though I haven't watched My Little Pony since it's first two seasons back in the day, I know where your pain is coming from. I used to like the show a lot when it was hot.

I have a friend who still loves MLP and her favorite couple is Discord x Fluttershy, so when I heard Discord was a good guy now, I was really happy. I'm shocked to hear he's still been misbehaving. Maybe something big's going to happen in Equestria now that all these reformed villains are getting together.

The way you feel about MLP is how I feel about Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic used to be a great series. The adventure games had a perfect story, a perfect soundtrack, and perfect voice actors, and as that changed over the course of time, I began to like Sonic less and less until now where I don't even consider myself a fan at all. And it's sad when that happens because I can go back and look at versions of Sonic I really liked and I get upset because I still remember who Sonic was supposed to be and I hate what they've done to him now. Unfortunately, if MLP keeps going down this road, that may happen to you.

But don't feel too bad. If you leave MLP for a while, maybe you'll find something else you really like. For me, the only thing that could replace Sonic was JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, but Sonic still has a permanent place in my heart that can never be forgotten.

You're not a bad person for having a unique opinion. In fact, sticking up for what you believe makes you stronger than most. You should feel proud of yourself for being an individual. Don't let the collectivist agenda get you, baby.

I understand you're passionate and think about this to a long extent but from my experience taking a step back and going to other fandoms or enjoying other things for a period of time is not only healthy but gives you new perspective. I did that with anime for almost 5 years and now I love the medium and fanbase more than I ever did.

I have little knowledge on MLP. I watched the first season on binge ages ago and the series in itself is good but I also know that a lot of things are different about the production then it was in s1 and the fanbase has influenced the creators in one way or another. So things were bound to change and indeed become a dumpster fire.

And that's all fine and good, I'm not criticizing it for that, but that means it's simple, as it should be. The writing is not meant to be analyzed. That's just not what it's designed for. But yes and honestly I liked the show because it was just a cute friendship show where I could be a part of a group and practice drawing... the amount of mlp oc's I have hidden away is insane.

Anyway: The whole redemption theme is something shows do a lot when they are for a younger audience. And because the main theme of this show is friendship conquers all that means that friendship must be the deciding factor in majority of things. With characters that get lots of attention writers tend to bring them back but you can't bring back a villain to be the same boring villain. So you redeem them. The thing is that because it is a demographic of little kids the writers don'y have to really have more but the main characters forgiving and forgetting for the redemption to be complete.

Honestly it is a bit strange that you analyzed the show like a philosophical show. As for excepting the characters they will prob keep shoving them down your throat so you gotta decide if you care more about the positives or negatives and decide on your own.

Idk. to the people who wrote it, it is prob crap because they didn't try. Once an audience is hooked most keep watching no matter how bad it gets... hence your predicament.
