Do you rewatch shows you KNOW you finished, but don't remember at all?

I'm not the most seasoned anime-watcher, but I have been watching anime on and off since I was 8. Almost 13 years later, I've watched an okay amount of shows. The problem is that many of the shows I've watched when I was younger I had simply forgot all about them. The plot, the characters, the ending, etc.

I understand that forgetting a show doesn't mean it's bad or not memorable. If it's been a long time, it's possible that we just forget them. Shows that I thought (my opinion) were good, but completely forgot, were Clannad, Toradora, Ai Yori Aoshi, Inuyasha, Da Capo, Shuffle!, Neon Genesis, and the list goes on and on.

I'm 100% certain that I've finished these shows before, and that they were good in my eyes at the time. I also understand that as we get older, maybe our opinions about certain shows change. Shows we thought were awesome as a kid might been boring as hell as an adult. Despite that, do you think I would just be "wasting time" when there are just so many anime shows out there yet to be seen? I feel like it could end up being a vicious cycle of trying to remember every single great anime I've watched before that I would not have much time to see new ones and experience new stories.

So what do you guys do? Do you add the anime to your finished and leave them there forever? Or do you remark them as PTW and try to experience it again?

Of course i rewatch shows. I even rewatch shows i remember only cuz i felt like i want to expirience the feelings i expirienced when i first watch it ( of course in lower intensity cuz i know what's gonna happen) and sometimes i rewatch the show cuz i know what is gonna happen hence i know what i'm going to get... And many many more reasons.. nostalgia etc etc... Also rewatching a show you notice things you didn't notice before and it might change your views on the show and your appreciation for it. Of course those views can change from bad to good and from good to bad.

It would only be a waste of time if you don't want to rewatch it but you still do and don't enjoy it xD. I really want to forget all the shows i've watch just so i can rewatch all 359 of them xD it was really fun when i first started watching anime regularly.

Quite a few shows that I've forgotten honestly. Around a year ago I just watched anime 24/7. I completed about... 200+ shows in less than 3 months I'm pretty sure.

I've always thought about rewatching them again but I'd rather start new ones even though I remember them as decent shows. May start rewatching in the near future if anime gets shittier though.

A simple feeling that I can't seem to shake
Oh my love, you drive me crazy in the loveliest way
I stay up, all night just thinking bout' the things that you say
I call your phone and hope to hear your voice and all over again

I am in love...
Make me fall in love why don't you
Just make me fall in love again
I can't deny it I'm in love
In love... in love... in love... ♪

Yeah I do rewatch my anime most of the time. Do I rewatch shows that I've finished recently or remember them very well? Yeah, because I want to watch particular scenes or watch the entire series just to feel nostalgic. And for series like Monogatari, I just have to rewatch them to catch up on all the story and messages that flash through.
I don't really add them back to my PTW, I just add the no of times I've rewatched it. I'm really obsessed with dates and such. So I always add the starting and ending dates of every anime I've watched. And I don't really wanna put them in my PTW and then in my watching list.

I rewatch some like FMA, Toradora and Code Geass. But something like animes I've watched on tv like Naruto, D-Gray Man, Bleach and Fairy Tail, I don't. They're too episodic for me. But rewatching shows is the best. I've rewatched the first 3 mentioned like 3 times already.

If you dont remember anything about the show then it means you didnt even watch it properly right? Whats the point of having someone as completed when you dont even remember much about it? Look at this way, if for example you had an amnesia and you forgot everything you watched, but you have a mal account that shows you what you completed, would you think that you completed them or not? Isnt this just another you who completed them?
Also another thing is that you change as a person over a long period of time (due to anime ofcourse) SO even if you REMEMBER everything its still a good thing to rewatch cause you are a different person now and your opinion on many things could change. Man especially in your case since its 13 years ago.

Its also a good idea to just rewatch something that you really really like, just because you really like it lol.

That's very convenient. I hope my memory is like that when I'm rewatching anime that I like.

Then again, for me, that's very unrealistic. Even awful ones that I want to forget, once I rewatch them, I can totally remember the events, scenes, etc, etc. If there's something I may forget when I'm rewatching anime, it'll be the characters' names.

Unless you have memory issues.

I mean I haven't really bothred to rewatch shows that I completed before. There are some I remember more about than others but maybe one day I'll take the time to do so.

No.
I hardly pay attention to what I watch as it is. That would mean I have to rewatch about 300 series.

Well there are some shows on my list I don't remember anymore but I don't think I'll re-watch them just because of that. I only re-watch shows if I feel like it's something I'll enjoy atm, it's doesn't matter how well I remember it.

Not really, if I forgot a show after watching it, I'd say it might well be meant to be forgotten.

I rewatch shows, but not for those reasons, since I tend to remember the general deatils of the animes I watch.
When I rewatch something, is generally because I liked the series that much I think rewatching it is worth of my time.

I'll rewatch the last 2 episodes or my favorite episodes, but never the full thing unless it's my yearly tradition (FMA, Code Geass, Love Hina).

Yeah I rewatch old shows, even those I wouldn't consider favorites or just rewatch them for fun to compare past opinion/judgement and etc. :)

Sometimes I have to. In the case of shows like Big O and Outlaw Star, it had been over a decade since I'd seen them so I had to give myself a refresher in order to properly evaluate them.

I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom:

"Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news.
Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people.
Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation.
There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime.
You should be watching Carole & Tuesday."

If the power of nostalgia is heavy enough and I actually like the show then maybe yes.
i.e. Last week, I saw my roommate watching FMA;B on his laptop and so I started spoiling him this and that and because of my enthusiasm, I somehow felt nostalgic on the process, so I re-watched the whole series again for the fourth time.

Yup. Often happened to me. In the past, I streamed all anime I have watch, then I forgot about it the next month. That's why I joined MAL.. I'm sure I have watched lots of anime in the past but... Even now I still don't remember what their names are... But I still pretty much recognized the plot..

EnZanity's Anime List - Rewatch

I started putting tags onto shows I watch as a sort of mini review and to just sum up everything the show did right and wrong. I realised there were quite a few I just wasn't confident in my memory of said show and that most of the tags came from reviews I've read from the show. So yeah I plan to rewatch these shows so I can properly tag and rate them properly

No. Most of them were children shows or I saw them in my young teen years. I scored them, based on my memories of my feelings towards them. ^^"
Maybe Princess Tutu? I will FMA:B sometimes.
