| MAL considers Chinese cartoons as anime. As for if it is. It depends on how strict the person you're asking if they consider anime as East Asian or simply Japanese. Though if you're gonna go with the original root of the word, then no. |
| Anime is usually animations produced within Japan and made ( primarily ) or have the crucial production process handled by the Japaneses . The King's Avatar is not considered anime because it doesn't qualify for any criteria , it falls down to be " anime-styled" rather than an actual anime |

| On one hand, I despise these kinds of topics especially when it involves Quan Zhi Gao Shou because then the fans could just handwave criticisms away with "You just don't like Chinese" as easily as they are doing now with "Shut up. | nah, they called donghua... they added to mal database simply for convineince sake since both of them oftenly related each other and confusion already happened even before mal being made... |
