after 3 days they decide to kill her, hope the metal age people get there in time! and this episose also explains why she was there in the beginning of the series in the first place, she took tomoka's place

Nice episode, major highlight was seeing a little bit of Tomoka's back story which was nice and why Kuniko was in prison to begin with. Also seeing just how sadistic Ryouko is, which imo she is the coolest of all the outside group characters (everyone that's not in steel age).

Wow, interesting episode. I just love Kuniko; she's so feisty, it's refreshing.

I wanna know how she's gonna escape execution xD

Kuniko getting to show up Rena was satisfying. Glad they didn't take that away to try and make Kuniko some sort of perfect character. However, Rena's attitude getting turned around by Tomoka's story was way too quick and I must have missed the part where the story even matters to Rena. Rena was already pissed off about Kuniko taking others' punishments, how the hell was that supposed to sedate her?

Ah, whatever, episode 8 can't come fast enough.

Well, I think the reason Rena didn't want to acknowledge Kuniko's kindheart for saving her ass because she thought Kuniko just wants to show off. And Rena should be the type who thinks of herself as "there is no one who is better than me" and she might have though that she could do it too. But after hearing Tomoka's story, would she want to live in a prison for 2 years for something she never done? And Kuniko done it just for a friend. Well I don't know about you if you think of a prison as a free 3 meals a day and peaceful place.

Well, I pretty much enjoyed this episode. Soundtracks was great like always(damn, when OST of this is going to be released? ) and quite visually stunning. And damn, Kuniko is strong. Also didn't expect episode to end in such a way. Anyway, great episode imo.

Nice ep. It looked somehow different, maybe the story will begin and go somewhere from now on. Until now it's all been an annoying "yeah let's fight the system!" with anyone having a clue on what they were doing.

I mean, the episode itself was average, but at least it seems to be setting something up.

First episode of Shangri-La that was a least "nice", still predictable as your average hollywood movie, but it was decent. Also what's with those Prison guard uniforms....don't they remind us all of something?^^

The pace was kind of ridiculous. We meet Rena shoving Kuniko's face in the ground and in the next scene they're trying to build sympathy. Then by then end she's getting sentenced to execution?

I don't really know. We got a sense of Kuniko's character (that we already knew for the most part) through the off-putting characterization of Tomoka. I can't help but ask why it was important to give her a story like this. It felt more necessary than natural, because it doesn't feel like she's important to the story at all.

Oh wells.

Same here. The anime could pretty much begin on the 8th episode and nothing of value would be lost, except maybe the concept behind the carbon market.

17 to go.

Ha...the pace was just so absurdly abrupt. I still like the idea of the show, but I still feel like we keep sidestepping the point of the whole show to explain something. I thought last week was going to be the jump off point, but now Kuniko's in jail, and I just don't really get why.

I suck at making sigs, and it's hard for me to choose avatars. I might go back to George since I like him so much...and if I find a funnier Akira shot, then I'll choose that...you know, since the difference between Akira and Morita is barely anything except age and profession.

I can't believe they actually killed those girls at the end.
I think the director wanted to introduce us to the world of Shangri-La before going too deep into the story. It's important to know why this place is of an importance to the gov. and why are they forcing people to live under such poor conditions. The gov. is tryant and all it cares about is looking for another source of income and in the mean time, shangri- la is a spot with economic and strategic advantages but to people it's not something to milk and throw away after consuming.

i must agree...such a cold character and now she suddenly respects kuniko? weird.

i didn't like her friend at first but i guess she's alright. so the lady decides to kill her anyway. i doubt she actually will, she's too obsessed with her.

it was a relief to watch this episode, there was nothing confusing to understand.
