Monogatari Series: Second Season
| Kaiki role as an anatagonist in nisemono series was quite an impression and he became one of my fav characters following this MS2nd season...At the end of last episode Anyone who had read Light novels , please please let me knw if Mod Edit: Added spoiler warning. |

| Since we are on spoiler lane, can someone tell me what was the relationship between Kaiki and Senjougahara? I was left a little confused after this arc. |

I went back and read every single conversation between Senjougahara and Kaiki very carefully, and even read all the lines in between but still am unable to tell what their ultimate past relationship was. If anyone would be so kind as to PM me what they know from the LNs or where ever I would madly appreciate it. |

| [edited] just checked, Check out Nisemonogatari Episode 7 at 17 minutes. That should be about where Kaiki starts explaining a lot about some of the things he made references to in this episode. Kaiki also stated to Senjougahara about her being in love with him at 19:30. Which i believe shes saying, the first to try to help her. It's possible she would've fallen in love with anyone else who tried to save her. It was infuriating that she felt that way, but was happy it was Araragi. |

| No I did not read the light novel. But, I get how they have a bond to each other. I'm pretty sure I'm right on the money in this area. Considering i'I've watched the series over and over again. If it's at all how it feels towards the light novel It's actually quite obvious. Really I shouldn't have to write anything else explaining it if I gave a concrete anime example with a time slot and episode and everything. I'll let you take it from here good sir! |
| Other thing, Kaiki helped Senjougahara it's just that she doesn't realize. Also don't forget that Kaiki always lies to everyone, since he's a con-man, but he never once lied to Senjougahara. I could also guess that he loved her like a child of his own. But that's probably something that only the author or someone that has read the LN can say/confirm. |

When she mentioned the first she also mentioned that he was the first of five con-men that had swindled her family out of their money and caused her mother to divorce her father, no? I'm not sure that I can take it upon her to mean exactly that her first meant a "first love". The "positive feeling" I wonder about that. I could also interpret that as BEFORE Kaiki swindled her family, she thought positively about him because he was the first person who had tried to help her family (like all those years back), but then he swindled her family of their money then then her feels for him went south. I do agree though, that given in the end the main reason she fell in love with Araragi was due to him actually "saving" her, she probably felt something for Kaiki before he conned her family. Not sure how you managed to get the Kaiki had feelings for her from all that though, Kaiki is too much of a money-grubbing badass to feel for a con victim. Figure he probably had feelings for Kanbaru's relative though. |

You should be glad Nise episodes didn't cut important declarations and dialogues from the LN. The only thing you need to do now is to rewatch the specific scenes and understand the whole conversation, in depth. |

There was a time when Senjougahara could have fallen in love with Kaiki had he been there to save her, instead Araragi came in so she fell in love with him, just as she has stated in Nisemonogatari. In Mono 2nd Season she reiterates this, and their last conversation Senjougahara confirms that she has never fallen in love with him. |

She also run to her ex- for help, enjoys talking about pointless things over the phone with him, teasing him, still wishes to know about his feelings then, she even has a hard time denying her feeling for him about him now... of course, she isn't the kind of person that would break up with her convenient boyfriend and try something emotional and adventurous... and that's the reason she is with Koyomi and not with Kaiki, as well as the reason the writer has degraded to support cast after Tsubasa Cat, there isn't anything interesting to write about her current situation, unlike the rest of the cast. |
