What is the weirdest anime you have ever seen? Weird as in the characters, the art, the story, the overall feeling, etc!! I'm in the mood to watch a "weird" sort of interesting type anime. Any ideas?! Looking for an anime that starts out really odd and you wonder what is going on then surprisingly gets really good!

Noein.
Feels like someone just threw some water color together, combined with the physics of today's philosophies, mixed in with bunch of kids and supernatural stuff. But undoubtedly, pretty damn interesting and has good ost. :D

FLCL is weird all the way through

Onani Master Kurosawa is a manga that has a very deceiving first few chapters. It basically goes from hilariously perverted parody and comedy -> incredibly touching coming of age story.

Madoka Magica definitely struck me as weird as far as the art is concerned during witch fights. And it's also excellent.

there's Genius Party, Cat Soup and Diary of Tortov Roddle. they're all super strange and super great little shorts.

I'll second Humanity has Declined and FLCL.

here is the introduction to Genius Party. (all the other episodes should be on youtube as well)

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu is pretty good and it's beyond retarded
Nazo no Kanojo X also pretty strange

Cat Soup is by far the weirdest anime I've ever seen though, but it's not that good

Mnemosyne has a kinda weird and fucked up atmosphere. Uhh Serial Experiments Lain (YMMV) And like a lot of people recommended, Humanity has declined is a personal favorite of mine.

FLCL and Puni Puni Poemi both are on my "WTH did I just watch?" list.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei might be a good addition to the list.

There are two types of anime - almost as good as Elfen Lied, and not as good as Elfen Lied.

I felt weird really enjoying Corpse party.
"Canaan. You're a victim whose past was taken away by war. And she's a defeated person who lost her past in a power struggle. Soldiers who are born within destruction take hatred as their weapon. Even though you and her became soldiers for the same reason, you both live differently. Listen Canaan, you cannot counter hatred with hatred... ever." -Siam, Canaan

+1 Bento
+1 FLCL

+1 School Days (totally different though)
+1 Kill la Kill, and this reminded me much of "Dead Leaves", same sort of art & animation, but the colors are more psychedelic and it's a movie (only 55mins). Also, in Dead Leaves, the mail actor is the same voice actor as Ussop in One Piece.

Not as weird as some other examples, but certainly one of the most weird I've seen: Tsuritama. It has a special style, a story that makes you go "…oookay…", and generally feels a bit different. I really liked it; had to watch it twice in a row :)

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me
