| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Just saw the first episode pre-airing (streaming raw). I enjoyed it very much. The series definitely has potential. This first episode had a bit less SHAFTness than I expected, tough ( just a bit, it's still packed with some nice SHAFT goodness). It was a good amusing start. The characters are pretty good. Technical details: the BGM and voice actresses were great (you would recognize all of them if you saw Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei), and so was the art. I'm really looking forward to it when it airs in the 4th of January. |

| Wow, just wow. When first hearing that Maria†Holic would be animated, especially when Akiyuki Shinbo was mention, this is exactly how i'd visioned the show to be. To put it simple i'd just have to say that Shinbo is the perfect director to handle this source material, because everything just feels like it's the right place. So yeah, i loved this first episode to pieces. |

| Saw the speed subs from SukiSubs. Enduring the eye cancer was difficult, but the episode was definitely enjoyable. Look forward to more. |

| It was about what I expected really. Shinbo's directing was simply on par for him this episode and the voice actresses were good. Meanwhile the premise was exceedingly weak to the point where I'm not sure how long it can manage to keep me watching. With the introductions out of the way next episode is going to be make or break for this series. |
| I haven't read the manga, so i hoped that he wouldn't be exposed, but oh well. It still looks cool, so i'll be watching it. Btw, why can't i add it to my list? MAL says that it hasn't been aired yet or sth |

| lmao xD, this seems like a fun to watch anime. lol @ the loli-teacher with nekomimi :3 who also keeps a dog, that part was unexpected but fit surprisingly well, I wonder where the story will lead from here with the tall girl (who was compared to the eiffel tower xD) and Maria. |
| Oh that is so funny, let's laugh at the sadist trap bullying the dirrrrrrty yurimusume! She's so perverted! Uh, wait? Really really really trying to get it but sorry, no. Flat 1 in enjoyment. And I'll be honest here, Shinbo-SHAFT animation is nothing short of silly. |
| Wow, this was WAY different than I expected...but definitely in a good way. I suppose since I haven't read the manga, I didn't know really what to expect. Kanako seems like a good girl, but she comes off a bit too acquisitive by immediately falling for the first three girls she sees at the school. I also didn't expect Kanako would find out Maria's secret so soon. That makes it hard to see where this series is going. Twelve episodes of Kanako being tormented by this guy? I'll see how things shape up in the second episode after the first officially airs next week. |
| A trap, a lesbian, an all-girls catholic school, and SHAFT, that's the recipe for awesome, probably only Kurokami was higher in my "winter season expectancies" list due to my interest on how the simultaneous release will work. They always keep their style, and that's what makes me enjoy them(Shinbou) so much. even down to the voice actresses: Marina Inoue, Kobayashi Yuu, Sawashiro Miyuki and Asada Sanami. All of them coming in from roles in SZS. |
| I quite like the animation and stuff, but the storyline really doesn't interest me one bit. Probably the first and last episode I've watched of this series. =) |

| Just finished watching a fast sub. It was funny enough but I'm not sure if it can hold my interest to keep my going the full season. I'll give it another 1-2 episodes to catch my interest. |

| I just watched a speed subs release and I can't say I didn't enjoy it. So this is how I kick off with the new anime season? Watching girls in a catholic school living their daily lives, yeah... WAIT. Girls and one guy. This was the part that surprised me the most, actually. I haven't touched the manga even once, so I was looking forward to MARIA+HOLIC just relying on what I read on the web. What is to praise about this anime are definately the characters. They all differ from each other - there we have an energetic, hyper yuri protagonist (who annoyed me to the bone throughout the whole ep, honestly), an evil cross-dresser, a robotic girl and few other funny characters. The comedy is another thing I enjoyed, this anime is funny and I hope it won't lower its level, 'cause it really got me after this one. I'm still waiting to see the OP & ED, then maybe the rating will be higher. Heck, I can't add it to my list anyway. For now it's... 7/10 |

| SHAFT again delivers in terms of superior art style. The episode was nice, though I am also wondering if there will be some kind of interesting story. They kind of used up all of their cards already. |

| Pretty good show...what a way to start the New Year! Though one thing is confusing... Who the hell would name their SON Maria!? Or is his real name actually something else and Maria was just a fake name to make it seem more like a girl. But anyways, I'll definitely be hooked on to this series. Maria seems like an awesome character who cross-dresses and remembers that he's a boy and he's straight. You'd hardly see that in anime. My Yaoi senses are tingling though... |

Ok so this show will be about from the looks of how things are going a romance comedy that incorporates a all school girl named Ame no Kisaki which means Miracle of Rain. There is a new transfer student by the name of Kanako Miyamae.Apparently she is the grand-daughter of the chairman and her parents went to the Academy. The comedy starts good although I at first if there is going to be some yuri (lesbian stuff).Apparently it may but I did not see Ishima Ryouken do anything although most girls are pretty and well done as far as art goes. Quite hilarious when Matsurika called Kanako a pig. She then though how people insulted with zoo animals. What comedy! :lol::lol::lol: The whole scene after made me think of Yuri until I realized that is the guy who pretending to be a girl.Too bad Kanako has this allergy problem to guys or perhaps even sexual excitement but I think it is a allergy to guys. The dorm leader was weird but cute. The cat ears are a common cute treat in Japanese anime so much that it even spread to the 3D world . The dog' name:"Yonakuni" :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Hilarious and Kanako's shyness and expression reminds a little of Kushieda with her funny expressions in ToraDora. So Maria is in 1st year of high school, Kanako 2nd year and Ishima is inn 3rd year. :roll: Ok I understand that. Most funny moment was most likely when Kanako walk in on Maria with Matsurika only to find out that Maria is a guy! :shock::shock::shock::shock: Now that was surprising. The next Maria with Matsurika does is incredible!They accuse Kanako of raping Matsurika. That is incredible going at such lengths but I understand that Maria has his own problems to solve that we are yet to know.So I also noticed from how Kanako address her mother, she may be dead. Quite the comedy when Kanako finds out that Maria along with Matsurika are already in her room with Maria sipping wine. 8)8) He is that it's tomato choice but :?:?:? yeah right! Then Maria's feministic ways to be friends with Kanako in order so he keeps the secret. | I really enjoyed the first episode. It was like a cross between... um.... KareKano x Skip Beat x Utena with some Oniisama E thrown in for good measure. I especially appreciated the blatant 70's shoujo manga moments, LOL. The background music is also really nice. This show has a definite 'style' to it. I look forward to seeing more, though I am not sure if they can keep up this pace for more episodes. Good start though. |
