| The premise is nice. And the art and animation is pretty good compared to Deen's stuff in general. (Well their recent stuff, e.g. HnK/Hnk2, Hakuouki) I have a good first impression, but don't want to judge too fast. XD Because it's Deen. I'm sorry. I liked the OP. I'm looking forward to the next episode and ED. I wonder if a fansubbing group besides CR will pick this up? |
| Here is the opening.. I love Faylan, the opening sounds really good! The end of the ending (where no one was talking anymore) sounded like the ending OST of Code Geass (last episode of the second season) :P |

From what I've heard, the soundtrack of Hakkenden is VERY promising. EDIT: Look! We were right! Also, not sure if the anime's going to be as epic, but Hakkenden manga is somethin gbeyond my top favourites, it's just SO.FREAKING. interesting. Seriously. I personally like Genpachi story the most, but all characters are very interesting. Oh man, I'm so excited. I personally think that this first episode doesn't really show what this show is really capable of, I'm not even sure they'll be able to pull it off with just 13 episodes, this is ridiculous. But I loved the episode so far. |

| I liked the animation but the manga still has better artwork IMO. Just 13 eps makes me sad, I dont think it will be able to cover much from the manga which is a pity;_; |

If you compare it to Naruto, for example, it's a lot more shoujo than Naruto. P.S. Is it just me or Satomi looked super ero in that half-unbuttoned shirt of his? He's never looked like that in manga. It's kinda cool but a bit disturbing seeing how right Satomi's character is. |

Probably because the manga has a shoujo tag to it, although in the first nine chapters that I've read of the manga, there has been no romance regarding the main characters at all. The only shoujo element I see (so far) in it is the art. This is the first time I've watched a raw because I couldn't wait. But this is also the first time I've watched an anime where the subs haven't come out on the day it is released...I'm sad, but I'm pretty sure that there's no other fansub group working on Hakkenden, so we'll have to wait for Crunchyroll to release it ;_; Anyways, I liked the first episode, and though they skipped a lot of things that happened in the manga, it still felt a little slow. I can see why to those not familiar to the manga, they might not be interested. I like how they did the scene where Murasame comes out of Shino's arm, it really is gross like it should be X) Hamaji's singing is also very pretty, it was beyond my expectation. The OP is catchy, the bgm at the beginning and the end were also very pretty. Waiting for the next episode! |

Because originally the manga was published in a shoujo magazine (which published some few shonen-ai titles as well) but later switched and currently is published in a shonen-ai/yaoi magazine. Which means that the first tag for it was shoujo, primarily because of the magazine in which was published, but it never stopped being Shounen-ai too but as a second tag. Currently is being published together with other shonen-ai and Yaoi titles but I guess they havent change the genre (even though its clearly not a shoujo and the mangaka is a BL mangaka). Ive seen this happen before. Usually the first genre remains, even if they switch the magazine. |
