The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

I can't even remember the last time I got to sit down and watch this. Maybe 7 or 8 years? Really incredible and has aged very well considering it's now over 15 years old. I'd sold this short before because of how much better its sequels are, but this time I could really appreciate the build up. It has a wonderfully captivating atmosphere that starts off so warm and welcoming only to build into the first makings of a timeless epic.

Also I nearly tear up seeing Bilbo and thinking about his incredible journey in The Hobbit.

The Devil Wears Prada 7/10

Not the type of movie I normally watch, but I'm on my PMS lolz. Nothing that special, although I won't lie, absolutely loved Meryl Streep's performance, quite different from her usual roles, she was amazing. Anne Hathaway was pretty cute, music was nice, costumes looked like from real high-fashion show, even for a noob like me. For a slow afternoon it's a decent flick.

The last movie I watched was Heathers. Quite a few of my friends liked the series so I checked it out. I really enjoyed the plot and characters, it was a super good movie. It's on Netflix if anyone would like to watch it. The sound track from the musical is quite good as well.

Just watched Final Fantasy XV Kingsglaive. It was pretty exciting, flashy and epic but I felt that the story was a bit weak. The characters were also a bit flat (just like in the actual game). That said, I enjoyed every moment of it. Oh, and it was weird to hear Lena Headey (Cersei from GoT) voice a kind and good natured character. I'm surprised how good she was at voice acting.

I saw Logan on its opening weekend and my god was it as great as I had hoped it to be. I couldn't think of any better send off for the character.

It didn't need the big explosions, just the realistic violence. Well, as realistic as a movie about a guy with metal claws can be.

I was bored the first 10 to 20 minutes, thought it was a lame budget thriller, but then the story got more interesting and fairly enjoyed it.

Beauty and the Beast. Movie was good, cartoon was better. I must say, though. Emma Watson did a fairly good job with Belle, mainly after she entered the castle. Before that, I just saw Hermione. Gaston was easily the best in the movie. Absolutely fantastic performance from Luke Evans. 7.5-7.7 out of 10.

The Lego Movie 9/10

This was seriously one of the best comedies I've ever seen - I was laughing out loud every few minutes, usually that just happens when I watch good anime comedy. I just regret I'm so late to the party, and I won't be able to watch the Batman movie in the cinema, dang it! The only part I didn't like that much was near the end, but I know I'm in the minority here anyway.

Beauty and the Beast. I found it to be a thoroughly mediocre movie with cheesy, forced romance. The two main leads had next to no chemistry and most of the "romance" was developed by "telling" through endless songs, rather than showing it develop gradually and naturally over the course of the movie.

And Emma Watson's Belle has got to be the dullest Manic Pixie Dream Girl character. I could at least understand if they tried to portray Belle a bit more "realistically", but all I saw the entire time was Emma Watson just being herself, with her signature voice and expression that makes her seem like she's constantly constipated and on the verge of crying. I guess she has been feminist-ing for so that she no longer remembers how to act.
Speaking of which, all the "diversity representations" that were shoehorned into the movie.

The last movie I watched I hadn't seen before was "Mean Dreams" (2016), IMDb page, which was the last movie Bill Paxton did before he died. He was the long time and loved Private Hudson from Aliens, and so many good movies through the years and solid performances.

Brief synopsis: "Mean Dreams is a thriller about a fifteen-year-old boy who steals a bag of drug money and runs away with the girl he loves while her corrupt cop father hunts them down. This coming-of-age fable brings together the desperation of life on the run and the beauty and wonder of first love."

Paxton plays the corrupt cop and abusive father, and he plays the role well, but still brings a kind of sympathetic feel to the character even if you don't agree with his character's actions at all. If you watch, you'll see what I mean. Though usually the "young lovers" get on my nerves if they're being dumb, the two in this (especially the young man) I really, really liked. Tough topic, not very original story, but well done I thought. The cinematography is good too, showing the landscape of the area.

I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10, and would recommend it if you like the genre, nothing over the top, but not action-packed either.

A good one. Unexpectedly funny and pretty touchy to catch small but weird potrait of family of modern urban - in this case father and daughter relationship - really good characterization and observation
.

It got some nice social commentaries as well - or at least that what thought talk these disgusting or they said lifestyle of those kind of overstressed upperclass society and a bit close/inside look of capitalist corporate sucking stuff dried

Summer Wars - Disappointingly average and cheesy. Unrealistic characters and a dumb premise with unlikely conveniences. Not even as decent as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Poor animation quality for a movie. I'm not a fan of Hosoda. 5/10.

It Happened One Night (1934) - Great romantic comedy. I loved how the two played off each other. 9/10.

Just finished re-watching The Hobbit trilogy. Truly a work of art, the sense of adventure this and LOTR inspire is second to none. How I really wish there were more, but it's that scarcity that makes it so precious. It makes me want to go on an adventure of my own...

Logan -- A little more than disappointed, mostly due to all the hype, but it was okay. The action was mostly well played out, but I'm not exactly a fan of gore or very violent action. I think what bothered me most about movie is the killing. Although it was addressed in the movie, I think it could have toned it down a bit and achieved the same result. There were some good parts in the movie. Surprisingly my favourite parts of the movie were the calmer sequences when the movie slows down a bit.

Been Rewatching this, in more better version and wow

some problem as well (like before) - tho' I considered those as minor, like too much imposed negavity toward US hegemony, kiyoko ann paterson' s engrish-and the the rest of jap engrish, gojira dorsal laser, as well there's moments when evolved godzilla walk clumsily and on occasion it's menacing but plainly like walking in dead sleep lol. But overall I was astonished by how the story is builded and no much point for personal/individual heroism or somethin like that - and lot of small roles and cameos from many familiar faces

Good Will Hunting -- I thought it was great. Performances were mostly great all around. Character interactions between Damon and Williams were touching and seemed genuine. It was fairly often funny. Damon's internal struggles felt real and relatable. And I really enjoyed how the movie ended. I really like look of the final shot too (of just the car driving), when the credits roll up. Just what I needed.

Pretty good, some of the writing was a bit "meh" and the voice cast wasn't the greatest, but overall a decent movie that gives us some kickass fight scenes and a large roster of superheroes doing the usual superhero stuff.
