| Extremely promising. This just jumped to my most anticipated anime of 2013. Can't wait! It sounds refreshing. I'm getting the same feelings just reading the plot summary as I did watching Last Exile and Spirited Away. I wonder why. Something about it just seems so liberating. Nice change of style from Urobuchi. Just proves to me more why he is currently one of the best writers in the industry. Now I just need to decide whether I'm going to hold off on reading the manga until the anime airs since its an adaptation, or just read it first. Decisions decisions... |

It's always something more than asses/vaginas/breasts with nipples. Even though they might be there, it's more than just the meaning of the average service pondering such as in DxD highschool or better yet R-15. |

| You know what, The art of the characters doesn't mean SHIT to Urobuchi Gen. He will still give his signature story telling. Naruko Hanaharu won't have anything to do with the story itself. It's the Director that we should keep an eye out, Although, Kazuya Murata does many Mecha animes. |

| I'm not digging the Kirito-likeness, and the mecha design but the main girl looks interesting enough. The set-up is quite nice and have an apocalyptic feel to it. Since it's Urobutcher, quoting the synopisis "To Redo, who has lived a life where he knows nothing but fighting, these days of peace continue to surprise him," is this a hint or what? I'm bracing for strategy in a massive scale xD |

| Plot sounds interesting and the art is nice, girls seem a tad fanservicey but that doesn't mean they can't be engaging characters I guess. Since it's Urobuchi, my expectations are already high XD. I expect the peace shattering |

| Interesting premise, but i'm tired of warriors looking like, or being kids. No battle scars or nothing, and no PTSD type emotional baggage. When are we gonna get more characters like Batou, Jet Black, or Gene Starwind. I hate to sound like a nostalgic prick, but I honestly don't like the design of the lead, he is and looks like a kid, but he's supposed to be a lieutenant who has "only known battle"? I agree with some of the above comments, something seems... off, with the art. |

| The promo looks nice but yeah, since Urobuchi is involved I doubt the anime itself will be as peaceful, or rather I hope it won't. It'd be a bit of a let down if no one would die or if there wouldn't be a darker side to the serie... |

| I'm weary of posting this. I was hoping someone else would bring this up. but i guess I'll have to.. Either the main MC pulled off the greatest tuck job in history or he has no penis. Cause there's absolutely no bulge in the "package area" on his uniform. I know Japanese men have this (unwarranted) "small penis" stereotype. But this is rather ridiculous. The way he's drawn makes him look like a silver haired Ken doll that is not anatomically correct. |

| This looks pretty interesting huh? Hanaharu Naruko in anime combined with Gen Urobuchi's story. Both are damn good artists. |
| It seems alright. I actually like the art - it's well done. But the guy's suit looks a bit goofy. His body looks more feminine (especially the legs) than masculine. If you didn't tell me that the main character was a male, I would've assumed that the character was a flat-chested girl. |

| I love how this thread is supposed to be about discussing the characters and artwork of the series and it's STILL mostly Gen this Gen that. I mean man I said in another thread that I think this series would be reasonably popular on it's own, but now I almost want to take it back immediately. This show is being all but carried by one mans popularity and the mythos surrounding him. Anyway so I can address the actual topic, the artwork and character design for this series is being done by someone that is largely known for their erotic doujin work in Naruko Hanaharu. Sometimes you can get some of the more interesting and even tantalizing bits of character art out of this sector though like with Redjuice. It also helps a lot that I.G is putting a lot of detail into the designs and animating them so far. Reminds me a lot of Sunrise Studio 8's work of late. I'd even go so far as to suggest that next to "that man" it seems to be the second biggest draw of the show for people, but to a significantly lesser degree. btw for me it was the prospect of a sci-fi anime that drew me to the show. It's been a long time since there's been this much sci-fi and fantasy stuff in one TV season. |

| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |
