I didnt like the transformer moment, but for me the best part was when Zoro and Sanji stopped those giang goons, just before Luffy's epic kick. That was a great scene in a rather poor episode.
surabhi147 said: I agree. I haven't appreciated any of the One Piece fillers so far, except maybe the extra bits they added to the Davy Back Fight (before Water 7), so I'd rather they go at this pace.
It's time they started incorporating fillers instead of boring long drawn out episodes where nothing happens. Atleast you can skip filler episodes if you want to.
When you have bad inconsistent animation, long drawn out (snore-fest) unnecessary content and I don't know if this was actually canon but when a character nearly dies from a nosebleed because he was too aroused then something is seriously wrong. Take away these factors and One Piece would be amazing but as it stands it is pretty poor.
One Piece anime needs to be rebooted to be considered a great anime.
What you said about skipping filler episodes is true but I'm pretty selfish - I'd rather get my One Piece fix twice a week. (i.e. manga + anime) ^^
I actually agree with most of what you said - OP does not have the best animation and it does draw out a lot of content (and, yes, Sanji's nosebleed incident is actually canon) - but I personally enjoy a bit of pointless character interaction which only needlessly prolongs the episode. I am a manga fan through and through and only last year or so I got into the anime so I tend not to take the anime too seriously. :D
As great as it would be to watch Arlong arc and Alabasta arc in HD, I doubt they'd reboot it anytime soon. But, of course, never stop hoping! ^-^

Without her all the main characters would most likely be dead. She's one of the best navigators in the world and one of the smartest characters in One Piece. Just because she's not physically strong doesn't mean she's useless.
Oh man you all who are bitching about shogun franky don't see the true essence of One Piece. IT"S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ALL AWESOME FIGHTS ONLY, of course those are the most EPIC moments of One Piece but it needs it comedy too. Ofc he looks like a power ranger robot, but I still laughed my ass of when he did the ''shoulder cannon'' thing. And the straw hats still react the same to stuff even after the timeskip, new powers, but THANK GOD same personalities.
I Think most of you are just annoyed with the fact that it took so much time out of a new episode, not the robot itself being absolutely stupid, I DO agree with the pacing though, Thriller Bark was even worse imo but this pretty bad too, I'd rather have fast awesome main story and filler arcs every now and then than SUPER stretched out slow main story.
mecha franky gets more mecha!
awesome ep, we can see that usopp, chopper and luffy havent changed. always getting amazed at little things but i think what franky did was awesome :O
zoro and sanji stopping hody's officiers was totally epic ^.^
and last but not least.... vander decken -_-

she's still the record holder for the most horrible personality of all the one piece protagonists
chopper is so cool. there's one thing that really made me think, though. he said he'd perfected all of his transformations to the point that he no longer requires ingestion of a rumble ball, but he said he does need it for one point. he (intentionally?) didn't say which point it was, though. could this mean that in the past two years he perfected monster point?? i hope so, that'd be SO cool.

im thinking its the monster point that he couldnt control before the time skip every time he transformed he couldnt tell friend from foe cant wait to see luffy kick hordy's ass been waiting luffy seems to me overpowered before he couldnt take a one hit from jinbe but now he can go toe to toe with him so hordy doesnt stand a chance in h*** against luffy i mean he mastered all the haki pretty much at this point i wouldnt be surprised if he could beat the magma dude from the marines

Man, some of you guys are absolutely pathetic. I can't even type everything on my mind as this discussion is a year old so not too many people will read it, but this is truly sad. The "trolls" and the "haters" need to get out, I've looked at almost every discussion from One Piece and no matter how great the episode, there are some of you who will try to find the tiniest flaw and talk about that one flaw and rate is a 1/5 instead of just appreciating the episode. Realize that One Piece is one of the biggest Shounen out there, fillers? animation? pacing? Are you seriously that fucking retarded? There's been over 500 episodes for a reason and those complaining shouldn't even be called One Piece fans. The anime has surpassed my expectations a countless number of times, whether it be from emotional moments or awesome fight scenes, not to forget, the comedy. Either just stay away from One Piece and go watch your own anime and stop complaining or just watch One Piece and look at the pros of the episodes, not the cons. I know I did not say what I wanted to say in the way I wanted to, so if anybody wants to argue with me or doesn't really get my points, please message me.
Anyways, I thought it was an awesome episode, sure, pacing, animation, not the best but I can't complain, it's nothing new.
Loved everyone's reaction to Franky's robot XD
The serious fights are about to begin I guess. Monster trio at the end did its' job as the epic trio it is.
So it's not just Zoro and Sanji who are getting to reflect on their training and show off their new skills, it seems everyone will get a moment like that however brief it is. And this episode was full of it. Plus it finally had the officers start to move in! Daruma started to fight back as he was getting angry about how they were doing and he was arrogant about it. They did some cannon'a'mole where he hoped around and then he used some great genuine tactics like creating a sinkhole. Then Chopper took initiative and showed off his new horn point making him look quite shounen compared to his older more animalistic version of it as he shoved Daruma out of the ground taking that advantage away from him. I loved his line about being Daruma's monster, going back to how ashamed he was of who he was, unable to fit in when he was in Drum Kingdom, he's gotten so happy with himself. Meanwhile Hyouzou, probably the second strongest fighter there if I had to guess assuming Hordy takes lots of drugs and he doesn't, is cutting through his own men to fight the swordsmen of the Straw Hats... He's quite confident in his skills even making fun of Hachi so it seems like it'll be fun for him.
Franky having a real docking robot transformation instead of the one he tried in Thriller Bark was great and so was how he himself drove into the sinkhole and then said "BASTARD, I WON'T FORGIVE HIM!!". Maybe Franky really is an idiot, pressing that button in Vegapunks place and running into a sinkhole like that, I somehow didn't characterize him that way. I suppose he can really get ahead of himself. Then his techniques were so Franky, we need more of his fights, his dirty tactics and brutality with Nero and his insanity in his second Water 7 fight made for some of my favorites in the series, and these moves went well with what we've seen of him. Making them jump over a spinning sword and then opening the gate and firing his personal missile shoulders instead of the mechs shoulders, and then falling on them eva episode 1 style was pretty wonderful. I suppose it was so outrageous that Nami and Robin weren't impressed, but what they do they even find cool other than money and history!??!
Something I'm fascinated in is what Franky brought up. Franky used Vegapunks blueprints to make the Iron Pirate. He used the work that Vegapunk put in which seemed unrealizable. Vegapunk was Franky's mentor, just as the cloud wizard was for Nami, and Rayleigh or Mihawk or Ivan were for Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji. But, the intriguing part of it all is that Vegapunk hasn't even met Franky. The day they meet will be an awesome one. Kuma, who was in kahoots with Vegapunk, did send Franky to the labs so maybe he's aware of what was happening so it won't be a total shock to him, but overall that is one interesting relationship to me. It's more than learning from someone's work because it's personal work, this is a one on one relationship between two people who have never met. I also wonder if Franky fixed his back weakness.
Nami showed off her "Gust Sword" and more than that blocked a sword slash from behind with her clima tact. That was so cool of her, to have reactions like that and confidence to pull off a move right after. It was pretty small scale compared to the other "how far I've come" moments, but still a good one.
Usopp showed off more of his green star techniques and a moment of true badassery yet again. I love Usopp's transformation. We saw him go from coward who only fought for his friends when he felt he needed to, almost fleeing from Big Lips in Arlong. He got far stronger through the series, he was able to stand up to the Alabasta goons, he was able to perform a rescue mission for Nami in Skypiea, he was able to climb under their ship to apply dials as they fell, he came a long way. At some point when the others improved more than him he doubted himself he got self destructive, he fought back. But through Sogeking and Sanji he learned to value his personal strengths, rode the back of giants, burnt the government flag, and saved the day and Zoro even made him face his mistakes and be an admirable person. Then he had his own personal fight in Thriller Bark that no one else could do, not relying on Sogeking but asking advice from him instead and winning as Usopp. He came far, and through his time skip years on that treacherous island it makes sense that he'd be so strong now. Strong enough to deal with a horde of enemies rushing at him to take his life with a smile on his face, strong enough to fight back against royal guards. Usopp went from scared but admirable and strong, to strong and admirable but scared. His prominent character traits have swapped in their position, instead of a hero in the making battling his weaknesses, he feels a hero with a quirk for cowardice. I love it and I love how he shouted out to his friend and teacher Heracles!!
Finally the Surume and Luffy part. When Hordy started to threaten Surume with his brothers life on the line Luffy could immediately relate with him, it even focused on his scar as he confirmed with Surume that he was doing everything he could to save his brother. The scar he got when he tried and failed to do so himself. Not only has Hordy attempted to kill and deeply hurt his friends, is attempting to destroy his friends country, but now he's threatening the life of one of his friends brothers. I think that was enough to ignite Luffy in flames, the way he told Surume that he'd try to save his brother with a smile and turned with his face also turning to anger was so cool. Then he walks up slowly and instead of dodging or beating down Dosun and Ikaros, Sanji and Zoro prevent them from getting in Luffy's way. He was able to walk slow as hell like one cool dude with his allies coming out of nowhere to stop anyone from touching him. It felt like back when Shanks had the gun to his head and then the guy aiming at Shanks was shot in the face by Shank's nakama. It felt like that moment to me, the way they just materialized there as if their enemies were a joke to them. Further, HORDY WAS HIT SUPER HARD TWICE WITHOUT EVEN BEING ABLE TO SEE LUFFY!! The guy needs some drugs to even attempt to keep up ASAP!!
P.S. Surume's brother in the north pole will most definitely be a Brook-Laboon thing, let's not forget it!

What a great episode dude. Franky is back with his cool hairstyle and is now making such SUUUPPEERRR things turning One Piece into a mecha show :D. Luffy being able to relate to Surume hurts right in the heart, and damn that moment when Zoro and Sanji protect Luffy!
Other than that, I think what Chopper meant to say was that now he needs only one Rumble Ball to transform into the Monster Point Chopper. That's gonna be convenient!
I wonder though, why were people so annoyed with that Franky transformation? I hella enjoyed it and was smiling the whole time for some reason.
General Franky's design looks like it'll fit in Gurren Lagann SUPERbly! I also find it hilarious that the guys were lovestruck with that thing while the girls had deadpan reactions towards it.
Just when things looked like they're going too smoothly, Decken finally arrives with the Ship of Promise.
Luffy reassuring Surume to not worry about his brother was very touching considering that he recalled Ace for a bit there.
faded as fuck and this is unironically one of the best episodes. like the lore with fighting for a brother???? the entire crew fighting and showing how they've gotten stronger??? the don't get close to our captain kick???? like bro
and fishman island lowkey sucks. but this episode is so good.
