Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle - that is, until the OVAs. All I can say is, thank you, Production I.G, for replacing Bee Train!

I liked Suzuka manga better then anime not because of emotions or anything just because manga is like 3x longer and tells more of a story :)

Air Gear
Love Hina

are the main ones.

I want to say shippuuden and claymore but thats kinda hard for me to do since both mangas are way past the anime even though Air gears the same way I stand by it!

Practically any I could think of. Same goes for books.
Source usually is better than adaptation.

I haven't read a lot of manga (which I'm working on fixing, seeing as enjoyable anime is becoming more difficult to find) so can't really compare to many series.

However, I just finished reading Karin (chibi vampire) manga today and I have to say it's a lot better than the anime. I don't dislike the anime either, it's still one of my favorite anime out there but the manga is just better on so many levels.

Another one is Kami Nomi Zo Shiru Sekai, which I've been actually reading before the anime. The anime just left me disappointed although there will be another season so will probably wait for that before making any final judgments.

I HATE the anime ...i watched 1 episode and was like O.o wtf the manga is so much better from many points of view ... first of all i didn't like the animation...they're so skinny ...like very tall and very skinny ?..? when i read the manga i loved kei but then i saw him in the anime rip off that's what it is >.< ....and the anime seems so childish...the manga is much more captivating and by far more interesting...^.^" well that's all I had to say ...^.^" heh

well,. u're right d manga of special a is really better dan d anime, though, i also liked d anime,..it's just dat d story goes on in d manga not like in d anime(d ending of d anime was not dat good, i think)

kodomo no omocha as manga is lot more better dan d anime (though it's shorter)
d story in d manga & in d anime are soo different, well,. i liked both anyway

oh! & d manga gakuen alice is lot more better dan d anime..
d anime was too short, i think

- I agree with this.

I haven't read a lot of mangas admittedly but I watched the anime of Elfen Lied and really loved it and then read the manga and felt (as the manga takes the plotline further) that it was just so much more awesome.

Though then again with Higurashi (or the arcs that I've read so far) they haven't really added much to what is shown in the anime.

basically all the mangas that came before the anime.

you know instead of having a thread of which manga is better, there should be a thread on which manga is worse. there would be A LOT fewer ones to point out

Your worries may seem like the world, but compared to the world they don't even come close.

Afro Samurai. It was an okay anime, but it doesn't quite compare to the manga. The struggle that Afro goes through in the manga is not reflected in the anime at all. Instead it's treated like an action film, disregarding Afro's obsession and blood lust for revenge.

And I do agree with most, the manga is usually better than the anime, though I usually watch the anime first and if it interests me further, I read the manga.

I agree.

You get to know all the of the storyline with a manga and you read at your own pace. Also. I think it's better to use your own imagination to figure out how things play out.

The only tim an anime is better is when the art style and animation is something to behold. I think Death Note anime is better than the manga. Also, something like Spirited Away could never translate well as a manga.

But I'll give an extreme example - Elfen Lied.

I think almost everyone would agree with this.

Most animes start off as manga. In manga, the story can go into more detail. Plus no filler arcs.

Aside from Chrono Crusade and FMA (in which although the anime didn't follow the storyline was just as good if not better then the manga I certainly liked the ending better in the first anime then in the manga) I also agree most manga are better then anime. Usually I watch an anime first and if I fall in love with it I will read the manga also. Black Butler manga far surpasses the anime, hated the anime when he geared away from the manga. Series that end early cause it caught up to the manga such as Fruit's Basket, Ouran High, Kenshin and Pandora Hearts all have good anime until they make up their own ending, making the manga better. The anime (especially for Fruit's Basket and Pandora) also leave out some really cute scenes that I would love to have seen in the anime.

The Kare Kano manga was far superior than its anime adaptation, which is really unfortunate given how good the anime was for the first half of the series.

I think the One Piece manga is better than the anime, but the anime is still great (it's just that nothing can compare to the brilliance of Oda). 8Db

And currently, I don't think the Deadman Wonderland anime is doing the manga much justice, don't get me wrong- it's good, but it just feels rushed.

Oh! And the 07 Ghost manga is far better than the anime. ♥

Claymore ===> It was great until the wtf ending..

Berserk ===>Totally messed up adoption if I watched the anime before I read the manga I would think that berserk is pure crap..

Fairy Tail ===>the manga is average but the anime is just plain horrible..

One Piece ===>Each episode drags too much ><..

The manga is SO much better then the anime. The anime ends on the 6th volume of the manga. And there are 23 volumes.
But the anime is good...
the manga is just better.

First of all, I watch more Anime than I read Manga and I'm aware that Mangas are better than the Animes about 90% of the time.

Now back to the question. I found the Manga of Death Note better than the Anime as it was more detailed and also was littered with loads of dialogue. lol. However, the Death Note Anime was still superb in storytelling. I also found the Higurashi Manga better. The Anime was not that scary, but the Manga freaked me out a bit.
