| That was nice episode - good dose of action but also some thought here and there (what will Marika do in the future and so on). I liked design of other ships - not much this hunter ship (still it was fine), but pirate one looked like they should (collection of parts merged into one creature). For some reason during that shuttle flight I was thinking where this time is Serenity Royal Family hidden ;) but maybe this time they decided to stay out of this, or are doing other stuff. And that hologram guy - I really don't want him to be Marika's dad, as somehow it seems to be overused theme but ok, if they play this right it will be fine. |

Nice to see (even though the show did very well so far w/o it) Also, that Pirate Hunter ship... looks like it's got a whole lot of experimental tech on it... who is it, and wehere did they get it? And that new ship... Looks like it can pack quite a punch. I liked the design of the Big Catch. Only thing I missed this ep.... NEEDS MOAR AI-CHAN! |

| I guess this masked guy is the same guy who was shown way back in ep20, which presumably is Marika father. | Seeing the summary of novel (no spoiler), this arc seems to be original anime story. If they want to make sequel later, probably there wont be a Darth Vader moment ^^; |

| Pretty nice episode the Silver Fox was certainly a mens ship with the pin up's hanging around and it's weapons where insane seems like the Silver Fox and the Big Catch are specifically made for harsh battles and missions. While Marika's vessel seems to be more focused to solve fights without having to use there cannons. I have a feeling that we know the woman how is in charge of that mysterious ship since they where specifically avoiding her face. I was thinking of Ririka for a short moment but that just seems to far fetched. The other ship being piloted by Marika's father also seems to be impossible why would he attack other pirates and where would he have been hiding for the last few years? Further more why would ha attack his own daughter? |

As far as I can tell once the Big Catch deviated from their agreement and ignored her order to stay behind her Marika seemed to back off from the entire thing. |

Warhship classification is a messy topic because the meanings of the terms change all the time with technology and doctrine, but generally anything considered a cruiser class has usually been a ship primarily meant to be used for things other than fleet actions. I would say it's more about type of jobs they would take - if some raids than those are fine with this, while escort is assuring no one will go away the big ones are destroying those who fight. Probably they simply don't play the "pirate show" - with 50 fleets it wouldn't be enough to play with. On the other side Bentenmaru is operating alone, so as you wrote it has to be balanced - decent firepower and good speed should help to deal with stronger opponents or run away from those who can destroy it. And I would say that it's this way - that new ship is targeting the Hunter. Kane seemed to know about it and it would be at least silly, if he was onboard the ship that is main target. But using him as coordinator to deliver informations about Bentenmaru and/or fact that they've seen something suspicious is smart. |

| Might not be for second season. The next story arc in the novel after Cosplay Pirates is spanning 3 books, so it might not fit in the time constraint of 4-6 episodes left. Assumed that's the reason they came up with this original story. IINM, Bentenmaru is one of the Original Seven (seven first pirate ships registered for the privateering license during independence war). Her age is more than 120 years old. Maybe, the type of peoples that form the first generation pirates are either former criminals, military veterans in possession of their own weapon, eccentric rich peoples longing for action, or patriots that gather all they have to fight for their country. If the only thing the government can give them is legal acknowledgement, then their firepower would be only as much as what they can afford. Current captain, are inheriting their ship from the former captain and I’m not sure the empire would allow them to upgrade weaponries more than what they already have. Assuming from the state of Bentenmaru's engine, there’s also possibility that the empire won’t allow them to do big overhaul (including weapon upgrade). The ship is running on borrowed life. Extra: the preview mentioned about that cook in the restaurant under the airport. Some big guy in the pirate world ? |

The man is obviously a hologram because he's not wearing a normal suit even though he's outside. My guess is that it's a hologram of Marika's dad for the purpose of intimidating the enemy. Marika's father is pretty famous right? The pirate hunter probably has something to do with the death of Marika's father. |

| I liked this episode until the whole massive warship going crazy in space part...and it seems we have Saiyans in this series with that last guy standing in space chillin'. One of the attractive features that this anime has is the sense of realism and how everything is explained, now all that went down the pipe hole. There better be some massive tech on those ship because right now, what that ship did broke like 20 rules of physics, lol. |
| My money is on the guy being Marika's father too, the bloodline thing Kane mentioned basically guarantees it. Also: wow! To think this show could have been like this from the very start having actual fights, darn...4/5 it went by in an instant. |
| Holy shit what the hell is going on. Things just got hella intense, I am loving this new arc. The ancient Pirate's Council and that legendary cook pirate? Things are getting very interesting over here. And its cool to finally see some other pirate ships, ahh so the Bentenmaru actually ain't that big and stuff but they make it up with a legit crew. Yeh I am thinking that masked pirate is Marika's father too and Ririka has to be involved with that ship one way or another. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of this arc will go. |

| Well... I'm not sure how to take this sudden change of pace. ^^; I was enjoying the pace, though I wondered what they'd do for the last few eps. Then this started, and I'm going a bit wtf, actually. It seems interesting, but... I have no idea what's going on. Kane seems to know something, and the fortune teller lady seems to guess he does. Ririka is missing, gone on a "job." Giant crazy creepy white ship goes spastic. Large tank-looking black ship just arrived... with a man straight out of Prince of Space standing on top with no space suit. >>; I hope the second ship is on Marika's side, because otherwise it'll be bad. The Pirate Council sounds interesting, though! |
