| This was amazing, the art war really beautiful, from time to time i paused the video just to admire the landscapes and the sky. The story was very good although i feel it gets predictable , the characters fit perfectly in it; i loved the way each character describes his feelings in such deep way. Overall an excellent anime |
| That was something. Well made story that showing how people are moving forward. Little naive and "happy ending" but still very good movie. |

| I personally enjoyed the movie although I was getting really bored near the middle. (i wanted them to get on the plane already!) 4/5 for me |
| Well, actually, I dislike movies, 'cause an 90-minutes sitting is just too much for my attention span, but this one was able to grab me. Maybe it was the character development, the unusual way of storytelling, or maybe just the scenery porn, I don't know, but I liked it. 5 cm/s is still better... (A) |

| It was okay... I love makoto shinkai's films but this one was a bit confusing. Could be better but i really enjoyed the story line. |

| Great animation and nice music. Agonizingly boring movie though. It was actually so boring that I'd forget what it was about at times. And the characters weren't exactly great either. Guess it's just another movie that I won't understand the appeal of. |

She knew she loves Hiroki and she wanted to confess her love to him. But when she wakes up , she totally lost the memory about that but the feeling still remains, and she felt like she lost something. That's my rough guess though |

| been meaning to watch this for a while, and it was no let down =) but yea, 5cm/s was better imo. but i guess its a matter of taste. personally i liked the Setting more in 5cm and i absolutely looved the music (not to say this movie had bad music though). |

| This is a very dramatic movie but it moved me all throughout. I don't like the middle part where you began to see the complicated part about the whole thing, although later in the story they will explain it. The story was deep I could hardly understand if I won't paused and write the details down. Like the 3years disappearance, the intro for the Union tower, the linked between Sayuri and her grandfather. This phrase moved me though: "All this time... all this time, I've been looking for you" Sayuri's dream since then never had an ending (stock with the white plane dream) because of the promised they made = this was very touchy even in her dreams she really believe the promise and longing for it to come true. I gave this 9/10 |

| I loved this, but not as much as 5cm/s. Probably because 5cm/s left me ripped at the end and the emotional value of that was so much higher and heavier than of this. I guess I was still in its after-state and that's why the happy ending of this sort of left me hanging, wanting more, maybe something unexpected or the like. But yes, the concept of the alternate universes and of the universe dreaming was different, interesting, exciting. The sci-fi sphere of this movie was brilliant and the technical aspect excellent. The art was obviously wonderful. Especially the running sunlight in the train. Little details captured very well. As opposed to some of you, I liked the character development, their psychologies. It fit the story well. Maybe there was space for addition, but I was satisfied. "Come to think of it, in a city of more than thirty million people, there wasn't a single person I wanted to see or talk to." That really caught me. |

| I watched "The Place..." after 5cm, and no, it's not so great and heartfelt. Though I enjoyed it and gave it 7.5/10. |

| I watched it all the way through but for some reason I wasn't able to get into the movie at all during any point in the movie. Didn't feel attached to any of the characters or their situations at all. |
| Everything is great except the voice acting. I have minor problems with the editing, but I don't really care, since the art is so good. The voice acting is a different story completely. It's terrible! There's almost no emotion in their voices at all, especially the main character. Would have been so good if they had gotten some at least decent voice acting. This movie needed emotion so badly, and they just didn't give it. What a monumental waste of an otherwise wonderfully done movie...it's frustrating; I really enjoyed it and hated it at the same time. PS. the music sucked. So did the ending; It was completely meaningless without development and decent acting. |

| Was surprised how much I liked this, since I didn't really like the other two. This one definitely had a more gentle feel to it, also liked how it focused on friendship more than love. It also had a more happier ending. It was nice. |

| The first half of the movie (the childhood days) was good and had a simple yet pleasant feel going for it but then it went downhill with the confusing sci-fi plot and went straight down the drains with it's ending. Maybe i'm just not getting it but the two-world and dream plotline was incredibly absurd and overly dramatized. The music was mostly decent but horrible compared to Shinkai's other works. The piano and violin bgm sounded really amateurish and got me wondering why they couldn't get any better soundtracks for this movie which obviously cost a fortune to make with it's stunningly beautiful animation and visuals. I agree with most people here who say that it was boring. This certainly isn't a great movie but on the same boat, not a complete waste of time. |

I really wanted to like this film, and I loved, loved, LOVED the art, but in the end, I found the plot bland. I felt the music was appropriate but often overused. Nonetheless,The Place Promised[...] is bounds ahead of the bulk of anime currently out there. I give it a 7/10. Sit back and enjoy the eye-candy! |

| It was kind of confusing. I had to read the wiki after watching it because I couldn't understand it. Not nearly as emotional as 5cm, and thus for me, not even close to 5cm. |
| yeah, not as good as 5cm or Voices, except the art. This was even more packed with scenery porn than his other films *_* and the character art's improved too. Was that seriously a happy ending, or am I missing something? I'm happy if it was ;w; I liked the sci-fi plot, I just thought it got a little away from itself and got too confusing. But it had potential. |
