| If you haven't seen the show yet, please do yourself a favor and skip the first episode. Terribly misleading horseshit of an episode right there, denouncing how truly amazing this anime really is. Episode 1 is actually pretty much episode 18. And honestly, what a terribly disappointing denouement from 18 onward. It goes from fantastic plot, atmosphere, and characters to mindless plot, crazy atmosphere, and ridiculous characters. Gungrave would have been a 9/10 from me if it wasn't for this last third. tl;dr: I recommend watching eps 2-17, nothing more. Agree? Disagree? |
| I agree but only skip the first episode as it is quite misleading. With that said I loved the ending of the series (one of my favourite parts of the show). Sure, the last third did get ridiculous and strange but I think the end of the series makes it worth it. Also, there is tons of build-up leading to the conclusion of Brandon and Harry's story, how could someone get to episode 18 and just say that is the end? The last episode IMO is great. |

| Watched whole series and i think that's best to do. It would be better to stay out of sci-fi genre but than it wouldn't be corresponding with it's source material. |

| I haven't seen this show yet but I watched the first 5 minutes of episode 1 and it didn't really interest me. After reading the comments in this thread, I'm probably gonna skip the first episode. Hopefully it turns out good..... |

| Skipping anything is stupid unless you just want to skim through the show instead of watching it. And if anything, the first episode got me moderately interested, but then it went downhill into a huuuuge slow paced gangsta story-style flashback that I prayed would end already. Until now I thought I could handle slow burn, but oh my, are telling me I have to seat through that unnecessarily dragged out flashback all the way till episode 17? Jeez, it just might be more than I can handle... |
