| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This Sket Dance X Gintama Crossover episode was awesome. At the end of the first half I was like 'wait that's it?', since the manga version of the crossover ended there so the second half was quite the surprise, still great though. Didn't expect them to go back to their past Sket Dance episodes lol, that was pretty cool, especially episode 17, Sketchbook playing. <3 Lmao they actually used Teppei, funny 'cos he barely appears again, well not that I know of. xD Gawd, Gintoki in Sket Dance made this episode way funnier, 'porn titles' and 'Sext-Dan'. xD And, gotta love Switch adding a 'time travel' feature on the device as a joke. 'Doodoodoo' XD Next episode is with 'Onee-san' that new teacher. |

| Wham, bam, thank you, Gintama. Ahaha, I enjoyed that. Even though Gin and Switch didn't call each other Sugita. :< The stuff at the end was lol. "What, reusing animation already? Gintama has all new episodes every week." Ahahaha. And Shin fading away with his glasses :P Where was the tuturu? I think I missed it :< I prefer Gintama characters in Sket animation to the other way round I think. Fun episode! |

| Well, doing Gintama's first kinda ruined it, since they stole a lot of jokes. Overall, a good adaptation, though the studio doesn't adapt Sekt Dance as well as Sunrise adapts Gintama. But they tried. They even changed the OP and ED, just like Gintama does. LOL @ Gin-chan dressed as Kagura. |
| Great crossover.I haven't watched Gintama but watching its crossover makes me want to watch it a little but right now i still prefer Sket Dance over Gintama of course that might change after watching Gintama. |

| Í honestly can't believe people are praising this. I really enjoyed the manga version, but this episode was utterly dissapointing. There were a lot of shots with deformed faces and the timing for the jokes were horrible. I'm seriously annoyed. A lot of people that watch gintama will probably watch this episode, but all they will get is 24 minutes of wasted time and a bad first impression. Sorry for the rant, but they should've made this episode a lot better. Gintama's anime version of this crossover was tons better than the manga version. Sket dance's anime version was just crappy. Gintama anime crossover >> Sket Dance anime crossover Sket dance manga crossover >> Gintama manga crossover Absolutely agree xd Sunrise did a better job with the added filler parts (I didn't like that about Shinpachi missing his glasses xd)... and the animation, well... in Sket Dance is pretty well (in Switch Off Arc was awesome) but in this crossover was... oh Jesus :x Gintoki and Shinpachi looks pretty nice drawed by Shinohara Kenta, of course... he was Sorachi's assistant... but Tatsukono make them to look weird... mainly the skin color. Well... it was not bad at least.. but bah... I only laughted in the manga parts and in the ending when Gin-chan appears dressed as Kagura Remi Onee-san the next week :D Sorry for my bad English :$ |

I know them having the reverse timeslots gave them a bit of trouble, but my god, Gin-san and Shinpachi looked pretty damn awful most of the time. There were some decent shots where they didn't look so ugly (thank goodness), but other times you could see clearly that these animators couldn't get their designs down. Kagura was fine thankfully. Quite disappointed. To think they spent this little budget on this episode....when Gintama put in just as much effort as usual...It's a damn crossover! BUUUUT. Well I still enjoyed it. Just quite sad because the manga version of this chapter was so much better. Shinohara-sensei draws Gintama characters really nicely, but the anime staff can't. Edit: And seeing the fake preview from Gintama's episode earlier this week...it saddens me because that's what the anime version could have been. With Shinohara-sensei's designs and decent animation... ..and this could have been a great chance to woo Gintama fans. But I worry this will just end up cementing their bad opinions on this show. This show has some great scenes too, ya know! |

Kagura was really funny in this episode, and gintoki was also hilarious There were too many LMAO moments in this episode, heck, i reallly do wish they make another crossover, because these to are both just too friggin funny!! XD |

But the trend in the anime series are that while Gintama anime improves on the art (which Sorachi-sensei admits bluntly that he isn't good at) the Sket Dance anime can't match the good art of their manga series. |

| I like sket dance, but this episode wasn't that great. Seemed like it was trying to be an episode of gintama. I don't read either manga versions of the shows. Also what was bodoka mex? What put me off most was the drawing style of the characters. It bothered me a little in the gintama episode but more in this one. |

| Great crossover episode, I loved all the references eventhough I'm not a big fan of Gintama. The Mayushii "Tutturu" reference cracked me up. |

| This was way better than the chapter that I hated for whatever reason. The only thing that bothered me is how pale the Gintama trio looked. Overall I enjoyed the Gintama episode more, but this was fun :D Guess I should get back to catching up on Sket Dance~ |

| Well, I come from the Gintama side and this is the only Sket Dance episode I've watched, but I can't really say I'm disappointed or got a bad impression, I actually enjoyed it a lot. Sure the animation was all over the place and didn't really capture the Gintama characters that well, but I could let that pass because I thought the jokes were still good. And that moment where Bossun said that he looked up to Gin-san really put a smile on my face. Awesome role model choice right there:) |

| pretty funny episode! plenty of lolz.... if I had ever seen Gintama before, I might have enjoyed this more... Loved the going back to previous episodes sequences. brilliant. gives you a refresher of all they have done & adds to the current story. good stuff. |

| As someone who read both chapters prior, and watches both of the series, I found the manga's to be equally as good, Gintama excelling on comedy, Sket on art, but in the anime, Gintama just owned. Sket's wasn't nearly as funny, just making a few references, and the art was much better in gintama's anime. There were a few derps in the Sket crew in Gintama's, but not as bad as the Gintama crew in Sket. They couldn't even get the colouring right >_< I didn't think Sket's filler was all that good either, it was tacked on, whilst Gintama's was worked into the episode well. |
| I liked the dialogs in this episode, they were funny and so much of Gintama style. Actually I watched this only because of Gintama. The Gintama side of crossover was so much better made… In Sket Dance the look and animation of Gintama characters was just terrible for me, not too mention the differences in colors. For example color of Kagura and Gintoki eyes… I jest saw the differences in money put onto show through all episode. Also a filler part of episode was really worse than in Gintama. I will say that this episode was quite a disappointment... I don’t regret dropping this series around 7th episode… |

| I'm surprised there are some ppl here who commented in this thread that don't watch Gintama. I just assumed that everyone that watches SKET Dance watches Gintama as well :D since they are kinda similar. This crossover epi was alright, I always enjoy the seiyuu jokes and the references made to other JUMP manga. However, I also thought Gintoki was animated oddly... I thought the SKET Dance crew looked better animated in Gintama style than the other way around. Ah details, details. It was still fun watch and I hope there will be more crossovers like this in the future. |

| Wasn't super funny but was okay. Not much of a fan of Gintama so didn't expect watching the idiots to be a fun experience in the first place, though. Best part of the episode was Himeko telling Shinpachi off. He really is very annoying and a large part of way I stopped watching Gintama in the first place. Don't really remember her being like that but Kagura was rather cringe worthy herself. A little of her voice goes a long way, never mind the stupid stuff that's said with it. Episode was amusing in parts and a couple of the jokes weren't bad. So, in the end it was a decent watch. |

| The only thing I found disappointing in this episode was how poorly Gin-san was animated at time. That's some godawful treatment for one of the most epic protagonists you can find. I found the episode itself great since it certainly had it moments. Like the Shinpachi banter which is pure win for me. Just cause I find him such a poor tsukkomi, especially compared to Himeko and I wish I could do that almost every episode to him. Best scene was of course seeing Kagura knocking Bossun through the door, especially since I already forgot that she did it in the manga to. And still a lot of other moments like Gin-san's farewell speech. Or when Gin-san was accusing them of trying to squander away time with the recap which they would never do and when he pointed out the mistake with the wooden sword. |
