Pan's Labyrinth, god I wanted to tear my eyes out after finishing it. Felt like I sat through so much for nothing.

Titanic. I hated it, and always will hate it.

Talladega Nights was nowhere near as hilarious as it was said to be. Then again Will Ferrell has become a lot more obnoxious than funny in recent years.

A lot of recent Tim Burton movies like Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and such.

The Last Airbender, surprised it hasn't been mentioned. Biggest hype surrounded it, then it was released. We all know how this turned out.

Paranormal Activity series, this is just a sad attempt at horror. It's just full of shitty jump scares, and even that is barely accomplished.

The Devil Inside, hyped to be this big "exorcism" movie, thought it'd be like "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," turns out to be complete crap. 99% talking, 1% dogs jump scare the audience, then it ends.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I was let down by Indy, a sad day that was.

That's about as much as I can think of that haven't really been mentioned much.

HUNGER GAMES!

THAT! No offense, but... yes it was a good "story",
But they didn't pull it off right...

because to me, its easy to see that they could of made it way better, and differently! More action too!

Twilight (oh God yes, Twilight)
The (chronologically) first two Star Wars movie. (Revenge of the Sith was awesome though!)
Titanic
SOME of the Harry Potter movies (the sixth one sucked monkey balls)
Most of the modern re-makes of old classics. If it ain't broke...

In the IMDb top250:

12. Fight Club - I like it, but come oooon... have to rewatch it but found the ending part a little bit unexplainable.

17. Star Wars episode IV: A new hope - Awful character construction and development, specialyl from Luke Skywalker...

Other than that, it just didn't manage to catch my interest nor to impress me with its imagery.

30. It's a wonderful life - Not only the fairytale traits are poorly inserted, but the conflict of the main character is completely and randomly changed at the last part, to fit one moral lesson that comes across as gratuitous, at least.

37. North by Northwest - Good for a Sunday evening, incredibly dated comedy, nice but highly overconsidered for its merits.

41. Saving private Ryan - The rather poor character depiction and interaction, and specially the patriotic exaltation that is there for no reason, ruin a legitimately entertaining war movie. The first twenty minutes are masterpiece level but when the plot is developed it gets lost in cheesy situations and clichéd characters.

47. Taxi driver - Found it a little boring to be honest. Great setting but I didn't like how the plotline basically jumped from one thing to another.

63. To kill a mockingbird - None of the stories is explored well enough to be considered satisfactory; the childhood plot doesn't take advantage of its mysterious tone, and the trial plot gets cut because of the first one, the consequences being that the social pressure that this case supposes to Atticus Finch is ridiculously diluted. Also, the ending sucks.

65. Das Boot - So damn loooooooooong.

73. Nuovo Cinema Paradiso - It's a bad start if you can't help but find the kid annoying... but you have to add the terrible costumbrist comedy with characters that are more irritating than anything in their absurd, and the awful compensation of the different parts of the plot that makes the narration go rushed at times and incredibly slow at other times.

83. Rashomon - I admit it's original, but couldn't sit through the overacted performances and in the end it also came off as a bit dull.

94. Star Wars episode VI: Return of the Jedi - Damn those Ewoks...

103. The lion king - I just didn't like how two contradictory discourses were inserted. That is, the tragedy tone with Hamlet references simply doesn't mix well with the light Disney comedy and it seems I'm watching two movies. Also, the change of attitude by Simba at the last part is seriously lazy and underexplored.

147. Annie Hall - Okay, I have this one ready to rewatch, but when I first tried it I was a little drunk and all I found is a mountain of empty dialogues thrown there as if they were shot by a machine gun.

155. Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid - Didn't like its comedic tone.

189. The night of the hunter - If there is something that bugs me, is how every single flaw it has is poorly hidden behind the excuse of being a fairytale. That is, it has paper-thin characters, awful performances and a cheesy -and sort of absurd- moral, which kill any trace of tension. The photography is nice but come on.

203. Howl's moving castle - I have it reviewed in MAL.

209. The exorcist - Hilarious comedy about priests.

241. Nosferatu - Not that I don't like it, it's just that, for its time, I prefer other films like The cabinet of Dr. Caligari. This one deserves respect but doesn't manage to catch me. And the soundtrack of the version I saw was pretty awful, that probably helped to decrease my interest.

Most anything by Teran... Teara... Tir... Tarantul... that ugly fucker with the big chin.

Inception, District 9, Titanic, Fast/Furious, most moves starring Jason Statham (I did like Killer Elite and Snatch), most Guy Ritchie movies (see previous), Takeshi Miike movies... fuck this, my hand will cramp if I keep going...
Is there another word for synonym?

I agree, there were a lot of things that were wrong with the prequels, such as the terrible acting and Analkin generally being a whiny little shit. I will never forgive Lucas for the debacle that was Vader's origin story, but really, the prequels weren't entirely bad.

About the topic. Avatar, Transformers, Paranormal Activity are all movies I thought were pretty over-rated.

2001: a Space Odyssey - this one really makes me mad because I honestly LOVE kubric films generally. This movie, though, had such an AMAZING premise, and a few of the scenes were some of the best I've ever seen.
But most of it was fucking bullshit.

Like the opening is 20 minutes of monkeys followed by 20 minutes of space
I GET IT

CAN WE MOVE ON

ugh, just
I really wanted to like that movie
but it's terrible.
I disagree with all the immature-sounding crap you said before this (also, CAPS ARE FAIL), but I agree completely about 2001 - A Monkey Odissey. I've watched it recently and was hugely disappointed by that borefest. What a waste of film and time. And Kubrick movies such as Shining & Clockwork Orange are among my favourites, as well.

you're so cute when you're frustrated, dear

Star Wars 1-3. Oh god.. everyone knows they suck, but they are still too highly regarded, some people actually think they were "okay" or "decent" when they are pretty much the worst thing since wuwuzelas. I mean seriously, could you fu** up Star Wars prequels any worse? I do know George Lucas only made those movies to get new Lamborghini and Ferrari to compensate, but seriously? Directional nightmare, script written by eight year old, no real depth to characters, 95% of the films were computer animated (and it looked fake and stupid), action scenes were static and boring. Basically it failed to connect to the audience, by making a film that was mainly about lightsaber fights and angsty teenager when original trilogy couldn't be more further from that. Either you understand what Im saying or you're a kid or drooling fanboy who'd love anything if it had certain label on it.
Yep, and to think it took me several years to reach that conclusion, man, I should really cut down on the pringles...

Avengers. (Seriously? If it wasn't for Robert Downey, could have rated it at 5)

The Dark Knight. (I love joker though. RIP Heath Ledger)

Transformers (Explosions and Robots doing some martial arts XD)

Avatar (Dances with Wolves, anyone? Although the beautiful world was astounding)

Hunger Games (Bad adaptation of the book, but still I love Jennifer Lawrence)

I never really thought much about this topic, there are some movies that are considered classics that I did not care much about, but I find that quite normal, here are some of those:

The Maltese Falcon - nothing impressive for me, I almost can't remember anything about it, but then again, I am not a fan of noir films, there are few that I enjoyed.

The Departed - good, but it brings nothing new if you've seen the original, also, only Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg shine, in a cast that also includes DiCaprio,Martin Sheen and Matt Damon.

Full Metal Jacket - just not as brilliant as other Stanley Kubrick movies, has its moments but something just feels off about it, Platoon and Apocalypse Now are far better movie dealing with the Vietnam War, FMJ feels very uneven.

How to Train Your Dragon - enjoyable movie, but that's all.
