According to 47 News, K-ON! goods and a safe keeping the proceeds of a stand were found stolen from the old building of Toyosato Elementary School, the model place of K-ON! anime. The stolen goods, two guitars of Yui, one bass guitar of Mio, and twenty two character figures, were donations from the fans. According to the police, the burglar(s) broke in the building by breaking the window in the midnight of November 17th.

Seems to be working fine for me.

Hopefully they catch whoever stole them and at least get the items back.

On one hand I'm going, stealing's wrong and it's not worth jail time to get your hands on some random toys and musical instruments.

On the other hand I'm really jealous that this guy's got enough limited edition K-On merchandise to start up a shrine for HTT

And somewhere in the back of my mind I'm quite sure someone's getting a kick out of the red and blue posters of Mio and Azusa in swimsuits on the right

That's a little sad. They even stole some of the figures. I'm just a little surprised an otaku had the balls to pull it off... and that he actually pulled it off.

The thing about the K-On is that it needs to be cooled down a bit.
i mean the people are currently too much obsessed with it. There are other good anime's out there with a better story and plot development.

Y'know, the birthday party is just another event, you meet people, chat, have a good time, eat. I don't see why it's pathetic. Au contraire I think being an otaku and calling other otakus pathetic because of how they enjoy their lives, seems quite pathetic indeed.

Even though I would not say 'pathetic' I do think that celebrating the birthday of a character might be a bit extreme...
But I do see there are other reasons to go there.

However, stealing stuff that was donated... and why in hell would you want to steal 22 little figures and three guitars anyway?

K-ON or not... Stealing merchandise from a store is one thing but stealing DONATED items by individuals is beyond fucked up. It's like stealing clothes from the Salvation Army. I can understand the robber's hardcore fandom or uncontrollable urge to sell free stolen goods on Ebay or something; but man at least have a conscience. Shit.

Plus the party looks fun; if we celebrate dead people's birthdays I don't see why it's pathetic to celebrate your favorite anime character's birthdays. Besides, you don't see that kind of epic party for Abraham Lincoln.

He wouldn't dare sell the figurines, though he might sell Gitar or Bessu for a bit of extra cash. Imagine surfing eBay and seeing the very figurines you donated being put up for sale. Bloody sic the cops on the bugger.

Then again, we should hope he sells the stuff, if only so that he can get caught

One incident says nothing about crime rates. Japan is not devoid of crime either, so this is just one of the many crime cases.

Anyway, stealing is bad, regardless of where they come from or what they are. I hope they catch this idiot.

That's just odd... I'd understand the guitars and such but figurines... seriously?

Not only that, I fail to seriously understand the meaning behind Azusa's b-day party at some place where they'd celebrate it. I mean come on!

LOL we have fangirls making incisions on their neck and asking Robert Pattinson to suck their blood, so I think celebrating a little girl's birthday shouldn't be considered "crazy shit"
