Any number of social problems can be devastating to a 14 year old. We look at it and know that it'll blow over in weeks to months. Even if it didn't it's not as if any of these people would have been friends beyond highschool. If they were going to have a lasting friendship it wouldn't be damaged by whatever the petty concern is right now. They of course lack this perspective, and weeks to months seems like a long time to be friendless for them. In any given situation a 14 year old and an adult will be unable to see eye to eye due to dramatically different perspectives, thus making each intolerably aggravating to the other. Exceptions to every rule of course, but in order to understand kirino we must assume that she is the center of the universe, all her problems are huge, and that the people around her have nothing better to do than aid her in her cause. If elder brother is not helping her play her games it is not due to a lack of time leftover after school and other commitments, but rather an act of spite and/or incompetence. Anyway, this all is in fitting with the fact that she behaves much more like an actual 14 year old little sister than the imouto archetype. Personally I don't mind it. There's solid reasoning behind her behavior and it's not nearly as bad as certain other beloved anime characters. For example Haruhi. Admittedly the world really did revolve around that example, but she didn't know that so it's valid. |

| I liked this ep, very genshiken feel and I can so relate to Kirino... this might turn out to be my season favourite as long as it keeps the incest toned down -_- |

| All i can say is that this ep had me piqued on this anime. Firstly, I like how the members of that..um..otaku club(sorry forgot the actual name)converse with each other about anime and games. It felt quite...um..nice(sorry can't think of any bombastic vocab for now T_T)since my friends and I converse that way too. I also like the argument between Kirino and Kuroneko. anyway, Kuroneko likes BL? WIN!!! Secondly,I like the moderator,Saori Bagina. I think she has a good-natured personality and a tough cookie too. I kinda had a feeling that she'd be like those stereotypical clumsy megane girl(Mey-Rin from Kuroshitsuji for example-not the best but still can do) but she turned out to be quite a cool person!! I like the twist! I also like this anime shows how a visual novel is played out. Watching Kyosuke play makes me want to play too but I can't understand Japanese and I don't know where to find an English subbed one. Thumbs up for this anime! 5/5 for this ep!! |
| You know, it didn't occur to me until much after viewing the episode that Soari is an oldschool otaku, and that saori is most likely an alias and not her name. Kuroneko was a username. She most likely chose the name as a reference to Char rather than the writer giving her the name as a reference. This is also where the whole looking like a stereotypical otaku from ten years ago thing came from. Both Kuroneko and Saori represent particular subsets of otaku. I think it was supposed to be obvious but I can be slow with this stuff sometimes. I still think it's really cool. |

| That episode was fun to watch. So far, I’m bedazzled by this anime, really hoping it won’t go near incest. Perfect animation and artwork, great music, cute and lively characters and plenty of intelligent otaku related puns. Just great. And Holy crap.. I thought I just saw Lelouch. | OreImo is definitely one of the strongest titles this season has to offer. Great humor in this episode, especially during the argument between the two otaku girls, their insults made me lol. Also, watching Kyousuke trying to find himself in a new environment full of freaks had me laughing a couple of times too. Not even to mention the "old school otaku". What the hell was she carrying around in that backpack? Lmao. The OP didn't really impress me, but maybe it'll grow on me in the future. Definitely sticking with the anime. |

| Haha, I'm enjoying this anime WAY too much, even if I can't ignore the subtle incest innuendo! I love the way the otaku scene is being displayed as diverse, especially the clash between Kuroneko and Kirino was pretty priceless and I definately could relate to Kuroneko's statements, even if I also enjoy the occasional moe-fluff. "Art doesn't need a clothes-off feature" -> loved that line <3 Does anyone get a kind of Toradora! vibe of this? Kyousuke reminds me a lot of Ryuuji and Kirino's the obvious blond Tsundere, plus they're both starting out in a similar partner-in-crime-sharing-secrets constelation, building up a bond of friendship at first... Which makes me wonder: Will they keep it clean and stray away from the potential incest-romance? It could become difficult, with this setup. So I'm still a bit wondering, where they want to to take the story - with all the humor and otaku-life refences, they sure don't NEED to take that route though - it's entertaining enough as it is ^^ |
