| I felt terrible when I heard about this. I just wanted to punch those girls in face so bad when they laughed at her when she died. All those bullies will get theirs in the end, I'm sure, and they'll deserve it. And even if they do pass a anti-bullying law, it still won't stop and people will still be bitches/douches to others. That's just how it is sadly. |

| if you get bullied at a public school, try going to a heavy religious private school. I tried 1 for 1 year and every1 was just so dam friendly. Even the teachers were nice and enjoyed there jobs. But to much friendly like, pwned my head so i only went for 1 year. then dropped out xD I never had problems at public schools, but you did see some people get bullied and feel sorry for them. |

I remember this one Korean kid in a lower grade. He was particularly bullied in high school. I saw him once at an anime convention a couple years ago. I mentioned the name of my high school. | Over the Summer over here in the UK there were (I think) 9 or 10 suicides in my town alone. The police were saying there were no connections, and that most of them seemed to have a happy/content life. Just doesn't make sense :/ It must be horrible for all the families... |

You have your whole life ahead of you, in fact by the time you reach college you probably won't even remember HS that much. It's sad this has to happen, but the school needs to be held accountable, I hope the parents sue the school into bankruptcy. |
| This is so sad. Bullying is stupid. Suicide is much more stupider. Who cares if that person is gay or he likes to wear pink or has different accent. Why should they care and bother themselves to bully that person? I have never been bullied before so I don't know how if feels but still I feel sad for the victims. Those bullies deserves to get a bad end. |

Quoting this for truth; though the teenage years aren't nearly as stormy as shown on TV, they are certainly unstable and a lot of what one experiences during these years may affect them for the rest of their lives. If at anything, such bullying acts now cause greater tragedies because the victims may feel that there is no way out once they've shown in this way on the Internet. As for why people get bullied simply for being gay/wearing pink/ being different etc., that would be because people in general resist change. Society does encourage some tolerance of different people, but it's sadly not enough to override long-term prejudices. |

| Here's my not so little story: As a kid in elementary I was the kid that kept to themselves but if you came up to me, I would be your bestfriend. I was too friendly infact and often got taken advantage of. I was called all kinds of names from gay to wussy,the "fag with no dad"....It just went on and on. Since my father wasnt able to be with me around that time, It was even worse. I actually thought of just jumping off into the lake behind my house. (Yes a 10 yr old wanted to commit suicide). But the thing that helped me keep on was my friend. He actually stop hanging with his friends to be my friend. He would fight for me and protect me. Nothing kept us apart until middle school when he moved away. In middle school the same people from my k-12 school were also there. I was teased some more, but in the before summer I'd changed. One class day the guy behind me kept annoyingly stomping the back part of my desk after several pleads for him to stop. I got up and punch the kid in the face. Gave him a black eye and a bloody nose.I'm not saying to just go ahead and bop someone for messing with you but it felt great. I got suspended and for me it was well worth it. My uncle who was a boxing coach taught me to fight properly instead of lashing out at people afterwords. Maybe because I actually told him what was going on instead of hiding it....Then there was high school. I had moved to a different town where the bullying for other people (its high school of course) was much worse. For me the bullying ended, but for some it was much much worse. There was an asian kid and he was bullied because of the way he looked and how smart he was. These 3 douches were picking on him one morning and I left my circle of friends to ask them to stop. They brushed me off and walked away. Me being who I am I stup[idly went after them and told them. "If you fuck with him again, I'll fuck you all up". So we got into a fight.....I digress The thing I'm trying to say is. Have someone to talk to. What everyone else is saying...DONT HOLD IT IN. My childhood friend and my uncle were there to mentor me. They saved my life even. As I cry typing this, I hope someone in trouble can see this and just get an idea of how simple help can be. For many this comment/story is pretty much shit thrown together, but for some, this can change a life and it certainly is a small bio of how I stop from hurting myself. Edit: Dont try to be a bully either. I know I've done some ariheaded things to get back at people but that doesnt help most of the time either. In some of my cases it did. |

I assume that you're talking about how kids may be driven to suicide more because at least people will mourn them then? That may have some basis, but people do not actually mourn those kids or 'put them on pedestals'. I've read comments on such suicides before, and I always saw a pretty big split between the sympathetic side and the "Bah, they're dumbasses/it's wrong etc." side. I agree that bullying only really stops when people say to stop it instead of doing things like committing suicide but that sort of action is usually only thought out by people who actually have a decent amount of self-esteem and family support. I certainly don't think most of the people who have committed suicide were stable when they actually did it either, even if I agree that suicide is a cop-out for an preventable situation. |
