Whenever I see the stats on my profile, such as the how many days I've spent watching anime stats, I always think what else I could have done on those days. It's somewhat depressing to think, I spent 90 days watching anime, when I could have been doing something more productive <_< . Anyone else think this when they see their stats and days spent.

Well you obviously don't value what you watch so might as well stop eh?

Watching Anime is productive, bro. Really, you should have spent them watch something marvelous like Michiko e Hatchin, Ristorante Paradiso and Nijuu Mensou no Musume ^_-

I used to think the same thing. However, I realize now that watching anime pretty much replaces other forms of entertainment such as TV and movies. To me, watching anime is much better than spending time on other forms of entertainment.

Oh, yeah. I could've spent 24 days complaining how bored I was instead of just STFU'ing and enjoying some anime.

┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

I'm totally ok with this. And LOL @ the user with 714 days spent.
At first I was like ヽ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ. But then I was like ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌.

If you are regretting those time spent on watching anime, then it's obvious that the cause of the so called "problem" is YOU.

I wouldn't really call this a problem, it's just something I was thinking about. Anyways
though, after reading the comments here, I've stopped my regrets, you guys made me realize if I enjoy something, there's no reason to regret time spending on it. I really do enjoy anime and enjoy every minute of it.

Yeah Kimura, I noticed shorty after that was some some other person's profile. I thought 90-100 days + was amazing, but after seeing his list, measly seems about right.

i understand the time counter in days for anime but how do they come to a conclusion for time for manga because unlike an anime there is no set time it takes u to read a manga

WOW, I never thought about that but you're right.

It takes me 3-5 minutes to read a weekly chapter, and about 8-12 minutes to read a monthly.

They probably just estimate the amount it takes based on how fast an average reader goes through a chapter, but who knows for sure. That's a good question.

Isn't one of the major points of "hobbies" to "spend time" doing something you enjoy? Be glad you are able to spend many days watching and enjoying one of your hobbies.
Will you be able to do.... what must be done?

Never really thought about it, but then again, it's been over a fairly long time span. I mean, if that was after watching anime for a year, then I would start to worry.

I got 145.9 days of anime, and 67.8 days of manga, combining to over 210 days of my life wasted...

although this is hardly a big deal to me... been watching anime steadily for well over 10 years, and I really only watching it when I am really bored. and I don't watch any american tv, so it is a bit of a substitute I guess. all in all, I figure 146 days or so wasted out of 10+ years is not too much, and considering it is time I was needing to waste anyway, well spent.

as for manga, I read it ONLY at work... I need somthing to do while on the job, so my manga represents time wasted while suffering at work, definately well spent... ;)

My anime list is incomplete, I have yet to add the anime series I watched a few years ago (Fullmetal Alchemist, Trigun, 3 Digimon seasons, Cowboy Bebop, tons of Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragonball Z, Kenshin, countless Pokemon episodes, Outlaw Star, Zoids, a few Gundam series, Medabots, Monster Rancher, etc.)
It was time well spent. I spent plenty of hours outside but still allowed some time for my imagination to run amok. :P

It doesn't bother me, because I have kept my days moderate. Anime doesn't own me by any means, and neither does the internet for that matter. I take time to live my life outside my house walls. The world can have so much to offer, it's a waste of life to spend so much of it on anime or the net.
