| Light for various reasons that have most likely already been mentioned in this thread. Despite the fact I believe he became a bit too wrapped up in the battle with L/Mello/Near as the series progressed I still feel he had a much better grasp on what he wanted to achieve, what it would take to do so, and how to successfully put it into motion. Light knew that he was going to have to make sacrifices and cut ties with anyone who could become an exploitable weakness whereas Lelouch seems to want everything his way and can't seem to grasp that idea. I also feel that Lelouch's plans and use of Geass are rather poorly thought out considering he's supposed to be a brilliant strategist. Too often it seems like he is forced to do things on a whim due to not having contingency plans as well as just being careless. Light on the other hand rarely acted without carefully going over all the possibilities and even when something didn't go exactly the way he wanted it to he could manage the situation well enough to still get the desired results. There's also the fact I tend to agree much more with Light's ambition than Lelouch's and just generally like Light a lot more, but I figured the above reasons were a bit more solid than that. |
