| Oh boy, it's going to be hard defending Kill la Kill's honor against so many people. So I won't attempt to. For the record @ovoon7, I enjoyed Tatami Galaxy just as much as I am enjoying Kill la Kill right now. And maybe you need to give more than just the first few episodes before you judge. Because KlK at this point has a solid storyline that the first few episodes, while very fun, doesn't do the series justice. It's not a deep storyline but it is one with interesting themes and keeps you guessing nevertheless. |

The thing is, Kill la Kill is not just wacky nonsense with crazy art. It has a story and logical sequence of events, which I found FLCL to be lacking. Sure the presentation is over-the-top, but I prefer that to it just being plain boring. There are actual twists and surprises, and great character interactions. Of course, not everyone likes that or will be able to get over the fanservice which is surprisingly thematically relevant (Shocking, I know!), but I find it to be one of the funniest shows I've seen in a while and in anime in general. |
