There are plenty of songs with lyrics that seem creepy or inappropriate by today's standards. There is obviously a pretty large number of songs about someone's 16 or 17-year-old girlfriend. There are also plenty of songs, especially hip-hop, that contain "f-g" or "f-ggot".

However, no song lyric, to me, is quite as baffling as one from "You Can't Change That" by Raydio. The line goes, "Now you can change your telephone number / And you can change your address, too / But you can't stop me from lovin' you". Now sure, songs aren't always true to life, especially songs from back then, but this sounds like some full-on stalker shit. I suppose it's possible this is something innocuous that was just worded badly, but what a mistake. I haven't heard this song played on the radio in years, and I think I know why...

Ok here are some I came up with:

"Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy." -Tik Tok by Ke$ha (Not sure if one would want to do that in the current age)
"I have no regrets, if it all ends now, I'm set." -Rooftops by Lostprophets (Yeah you sure you have no regrets Ian Watkins...? Also that last lyric came true like a month ago.)

Also NOT technically a lyric, but there was a song by a musical group called "I Am The World Trade Center" called "September" which just so happened to be the 11th track of the album and released in 2001 (July) Yeah really didn't age that great later that year...

'Family Business' by Kanye West. In hindsight, a lot of lyrics subtly hint about him giving head to his cousin. Then, of course, there are lyrics from other songs like 'Lost my mama, lost my mind' (Spaceship) and 'I hate these ninjas more than a N@3i' (Flashing Lights).

And yeah, a lot of songs with the 'f-slur' ('Money for Nothing' by Dire Straights, 'Fairytale of New York' by The Pogues) and non-black artists saying the n-word ('Oliver's Army' by Elvis Costello, 'I'm Real' by JLo).

Pretty sure those P.Diddy lyrics hadn't been an accident and she wanted to point at that situation, just subtly hidden.
Eminem wrote (looked it up, it's Outro 2002) too about him: "I don't wanna go to a rap show where it's just the rap(p)er without the p."

"When's the last time you heard a funky diabetic?"

- Phife Dawg on "Oh My God!" by A Tribe Called Quest, who ended up passing away from diabetes complications in 2016
Some of you never watched Bakugan Battle Brawlers on TeleToon in 2008 and it shows.

I don't think that Money for Nothing counts as "not aged well". Both because it was controversial at the time it was released and because the perspective of the song was meant to be an old hard ass with a grudging respect for rock stars, it being rough and crass was the whole point.

Tik Tok was released in 2009, 15 years before P. Diddy was exposed and put on trial.

They aged just fine, the problem is that people nowadays are wimps who can't handle anything that isn't watered down and censored.

I can think of a few 90s' kpop (more so boy bands) that used the n-word in their rap songs... lol..

(Was going to say 'monkey see, monkey do' and then realized how BAD that sounded in the context)

@Retro8bit What's actually wrong with this song? Just because a song depicts an awful topic doesn't mean it is endorsing them. It's a terrible character in a song, not Mick Jagger's actual thoughts on the matter.

Do we apply the same logic to movies depicting slavery? Just because art can be uncomfortable, does not make it poorly aged. In fact, I would argue the song has aged fantastic in the fact that younger folks have quite the issue with understanding that kind of fact.

A song that I do actually kinda think has aged poorly (although it was pretty poorly aged on release) is Lemon Incest by Serge Gainsbourg. The fact that he's singing about incest half naked in bed with his 13 year old daughter, I do gotta say has aged pretty poorly. But what really pushes everything over the edge is that Serge Gainsbourg ended up directing a film with similar themes where he was ALSO the main star. I know Serge said he was just trying to provoke audiences, but I don't buy it, and it's only worse 40 years later.
