| Finally we are back after 1 whole year. The attack by Kaiju No. 10 dealt a devastating blow to Tachikawa Base, and Japan was on the brink of a new era of crisis. The fate of Hibino Kafka, who was taken into custody as Kaiju No. 8, remains unknown, and the new recruits of the 3rd Unit have been transferred to other units and will be taking on new duties in their respective locations. Shinomiya Kikoru, who has been assigned to the 1st Unit, the "strongest of the defense forces," goes to greet the unit's captain, Narumi Gen, but... The devastating situation dawns again, with the first division being mobilised, surrounding the kaiju and the offence begins but some plans didn't go as the whole division wanted so the captain narumi takes the charge and comes out victorious with his amazing powers. It has been decided that Our old man will be joining the 1st Division by the whole council but the captain declines the proposal instead proposes that kafka should be turned into a weapon for specific needs of the 1st Division Captain. Our kafka commits in front of everyone that he'll prove his worth with a heartful salute.  |

During Kafka’s nightmare sequence at the start, I love the almost Toho Godzilla style OST that plays. I wonder if that future will ever come to pass π€ Nice to see my girl Kikoru back on screen, even if only briefly. Very good set up episode for what’s to come this season. First season was about Kafka dealing with his new transformation and coming to terms with his reality, this one looks to be about the Defense force learning to work with Kafka. With the Kaiju continuing to develop and get smarter they’re gonna need all the resources they can get. My guy Narumi has a gunpla collection so he’s already my goat lmao. Absolute state of that room though man π love his character already though I can see why people been hyping him up. Really digging the OP, I’m sure OneRepublic cooked on the ED again too. Post credits scene is crazy wtf is that coming out the ground. And what was Isao looking at in the lab? Surely not related to Kikoru staring at that pic or her mom.. right? again we’re back to the cliffhangers lol |

| Nice prologue. So, Kikoru and Kafka are apparently in the same division now, separated from the rest of their comrades who were in Mina's squad. It's a bit saddening, but oh well. Either way, I'm excited to see what Kafka and Kikoru will show us in the upcoming episodes. |
| A little past of Kafka and Mina. Back to present, Kafka had a nightmare. Decision on Kafka has been decided. All rookies are assigned to units. What’s with the First Division Captain, Narumi Gen. He’s totally like a game otaku. Kikoru is being funny as usual π€£. We get to see Narumi Gen in action, right away. He’s right at the point, only pure strength. Rest all doesn’t matter. Kafka was asked to prove his worth. Isao moved him to the First Division. Kikoru and Kafka will be together. Narumi wants Kafka to show his strength and bring results. |

| I really enjoyed the Kafka hides his Kaiju self part of season 1, that’s the only thing that made this show unique and fun, so I don’t know how I’ll feel about this season as I care nothing for the characters of this show. Action is always great and so is the basic story so hopefully it’ll change things up to make this season interesting. First episodes didn’t really do it for me though. Also I think that the manga ending that got spoiled for me ruined this show too, as I know basically everything Is pointless in this show now because of that horrific ending. 3/5 episode |

My problem with Kaiju No 8 is that I’ve never seen any proof that Mina cares or even thinks about Kafka in any way. But what this series really needs is an outside individual who is looking out for Kafka’s best interests and will kill anyone who tries to hurt him

| Haven’t read the manga past what was adapted in the first season (and I don’t intend to read the rest of it now that it’s concluded unless the anime doesn’t adapt all of it) so I’m curious to see how the story evolves over time. Was never all that impressed by the narrative or the characters, but I’m sure I’ll still find enjoyment during this cour. The episode was okay, but ngl the best part was Aurora’s opening. Excited to see it in full next episode. |

| Kaiju No. 8 is finally back! I missed it. Especially after that massive cliffhanger. This one started airing way later than other anime in this season. I hope it won't get buried too much because of this. Wow. First division captain Narumi is a hardcore gamer and otaku. Well, I guess it doesn't matter as long as he's good at killing kaijus. Kafka will probably have to kill a lot of kaijus too for the Defense Force to start giving a shit about him as a human being. That kaiju Narumi beat was literally just Godzilla, but it sounded like an elephant for some reason. For something that resembled Godzilla, it got taken down way too fast. That feels disrespectful lol. I'm still not sure how I feel about the third division members being split up into different divisions, even if it's temporarily. Doesn't that make the third division way weaker? Or are they temporarily not working either? That'd probably put pressure on other divisions. Welp, I'm just glad Kafka and Kikoru are in the same division. Can't wait to see what happens next. I don't think there's a point in arguing with him cause it looks like he already made up his mind. Even if you point out that in Episode 5 Mina smiled at Kafka for finally making it into the Defense Force and being genuinely happy for him he'd probably twist it and say she was just acting nefarious or something. |
| Season 2 premiering right after the manga just ended lol, looks like Kaiju fans still get to eat for a little while longer. I know people have their misgivings with this series but it's pretty decent to me so it's nice to have it back. Narumi seems like a total slacker but I can already tell he's going to be a goated badass. Let's see how Kafka gets himself acclimated in this new squad. Once again, not feeling the OP. If there's one series that was practically tailor made for being the perfect fit for some kind of rock or metal song, it's this one so idk what's going on when it comes to the decision-making in that department lol. |

| As a former manga reader, and one of the first readers of this series when it first started serialization, I don't expect much from this season. It's not bad, probably gonna be quite enjoyable regardless, especially with the high production quality, but season 1 pretty much covered the best parts of Kn8. Either way, I'll keep watching it for mindless, shonen fun. |

| The second sequel this season where the manga ending left a lot to be desired. Oh well, at least this should be pretty enjoyable. Especially thanks to I.G Gen did some quick farming. Bro has some attitude, but I guess if there's someone who can afford it it's him. I like that there's a goofball side to him too . And you would think that it can't get more Kaiju than this episode with OG kaiju itself, Godzilla. It's however merely a warm up for the real action starting next episode. |

| It's an okay start. Ending music was really nice and with fitting tone. Other than that, kinda weird drawing of some characters but nothing too irritating. Am finding really hard to believe there would be any people left in the cities at the frequency these monsters appear. That kind of obvious line of thinking not a single person in that city is having is annoying me. But we'll see. This show has always been dumb action and nothing more. |
| Happy to be back, things really start to ramp up now that Kafka will be working with the Defense Force in Kaiju form. And we finally get to see Gen in all his glory. I hate to say it, I just don't think this series will reach the highs in popularity that more recent shounen like Dandadan has. But for those who stick around, it'll be a fun time. |
