You all should know what this topic's about now. :D

Some people dislike Maka's voice, and I can see why. To me though her voice is refreshingly different, I really enjoy listening to whatever she's saying or screaming. At first it might look like she's not 'going all out' but I don't think that's the case. Soul Eater has many different characters so you won't see Maka in every episode (unless they complain about the lack of screentime again :D), but to me the reason why Soul Eater is so damn great is also because Maka's voice is like it is.

What are your thoughts?

I think that most of the voices are great, and give fit the different style of animation that the show makes use of. I completely agree that Maka's voice is a breath of fresh air, and as somebody who got into anime for that very reason it's magnificent.

I don't completely understand how anyone wouldn't think Maka is into her role, even if it was just for an instant, I thought all the voice actors really were "Going all out" from the first line of dialogue.

I really like the voice of that new seiyuu. At first, it sounded a bit out of place (i.e. too cute/quiet) for an actiony shinigami kind of anime.. but 1.) it's a nice voice regardless and 2.) we haven't seen too much of her character yet.. but I guess it fits her personality after all.

I hope we'll see hear more of her in future seasons. Also in other genres.

First impression = annoying. But I got used to it after 5 minutes.
And now I can't imagine her sounding like anything else, and I don't want her to sound like anything else.

The only problem I have with her voice is that the sincerity doesn't seem to match the visuals...Such as she looks like she'd be shouting when the lines are almost spoken normally.

Other than that, yes, good voice. Better than the usual annoying young girls' voices that have been used in the past (I still can't stand Tsukimura Mayu's voice).

Such is life...

Maka's voice is excellent. It fits her perfectly.
If anything, I'd complain about Soul's voice for being much darker than I imagined it would be. And Kidd's voice feels pretty wrong, too. But they're fine.

I'm glad there are so many people who love her voice just as much as I do.

I'm not sure about Kid yet, the preview wasn't enough to judge for me. We shall see.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I certainly don't dislike her voice, but it just seems weird somehow. Same with most of the characters, really - they just seem a little odd.

I like it a lot. It's not the typical anime girl voice. I am not Japanese, so I can't judge her acting though.

Really love her voice. From the first time I heard her, I found that it was something completly different and different is good. I also find that the voice really matches the image I get of her.

It's weird for me at first - not that I dislike it - and then I found out she's a new seiyuu. It will grow on me eventually so I don't have a problem with it.

Did you watch episode 1 20x? xD

At first, I liked the fact that it was different, but I could tell that it was different. Now, it's natural. I agree with what a lot of other people said -- Maka couldn't have a high, young girl's voice. She's too serious for that.

Soul's voice threw me off at first, too, but I also love it now.

The only one that still bothers me.... is Black Star's :S

i got used to it at the first episode, and i like it.

I think her voice is very fitting.
Its not too girly like cat witch blair's.
Its not too child-like like the witch in epi 2.
Its not too cute like patty's or too aggresive like liz.
In other words, its just right.

I like it, she's different from lots of other heroines in her sensibility and calm demeanor, and I think her voice reflects that well. She has emotion when she needs it, but otherwise her character just doesn't show it very much. It doesn't bother me, I could imagine meeting someone who sounds like her, so it's pretty natural.

I like her better than Black Star...I think it's funny that it's so obvious his seiyuu is female, considering his macho character, but sometimes it's distracting. dunno, they're all okay, no one irritates me to the point of being unable to enjoy the show.

Her voice is really fitting--young-sounding but mature.
Everyone in Soul Eater pretty much has a unique voice.

I guess the people being more critical of it have read the manga or something. xD;

If her voice wasn't good, it would stand out to me.
Which it doesn't. So that means it fits her well and isn't annoying to me.

She has a sort of middle voice, because she's a sort of middle character.
It's soft when it's soft and hard when it's hard, like her personality.

I really couldn't imagine her voice any other way. Especially after hearing it this way after so long.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

It's something different, and it makes her unique. It also meshes well with the whole Soul Eater theme of being a not your regular shounen.

I really enjoy her voice acting because, as others have already said, it's refreshing and different.

At first I noticed the somewhat emotionless tone that she uses, but after getting used to it I realized that it just *suited* Maka. Not to say she's emotionless, but I find that she's a very mature girl for her age. She's more soft-spoken and therefore her pitch isn't all over the place.

It's a little hard to describe, but overall I really like her voice acting. There's definitely room for improvement with tones, but I can't picture Maka sounding any other way, so I'm quite pleased with it.
