More familiar faces back! Even Nel and Riruka are here! But yeah, obviously, they weren't going to give Grimmjow the fight he wants against Ichigo. Not the right place or time. Very glad to see these faces back as they bring back a lot of nostalgia.

No joke though. When Yhawrch was pushing his plan, he really is willing to do anything to get it done. What an episode, felt like watching a movie again with all the shit that went down.

Yeah, there are people who have bigger than Orihime’s( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°). So seeing Grimmjow was good for its own reasons, but yeah, Nel returning has its own pros as well. Btw, this episode is like a big reunion with a lot of characters. I actually forgot the fullbringers Riruka and that small guy makes their appearance too in this final arc, as I mean, with how Yhwach is practically a god at this point, you really do need to bring characters out from the grave to deal with him and his sidekicks lol. Like seriously, you cannot even count the numbers of eyes that man has with him now xD

Must be one very long lift ride that was, but leaving that aside, I’m glad this episode retained some humour and light hearted moments from manga, as I mean, the studio has made sure to keep the mood really serious in this sequel up until this point, so yeah, good to see something for a change, even though it lasted not more than five minutes combined lol. Looking forward to the final stretch of this fight now, as both Ichigo’s group and Gotei 13 are now in Yhwach’s soul palace. Really though, man renovated it as a completely different place.

Best girl Neliel is back, and Yhwach pulls a bigger power move than anything Aizen's done by immediately reshaping the Soul Palace into the Wahrwelt (literally "True World") and declaring it the foundation of his new Quincy nation after becoming God.

Incredible storyboarding and direction as always. The same episode director and storyboarder here behind Born in the Dark (EP7) of Cour 1—which is one of, if not the greatest Bleach episode.

Tbh, I'm just happy to see more of Grimmjow, Nelliel... and the Fullbringers too. I wonder which role will Ginjo and Tsukishima have in the future, they are the strongest Fullbringers combat-wise, and the only ones capable of helping in an actual fight, it seems like Riruka and Yukio support is more in terms of transportation only.

The black sky with the purple tones in the Seireitei look amazing, Akudama Drive (directed by Taguchi) had a lot of purple, so it reminded me of that.

Aizen would be crying internally if knew an ex-Espada and an ex-ex-Espada got to the Palace before him.

Nel!!!! Riruka!!!!

Whoever animated Riruka being the good old tsudere talking to Ichigo, was fantastic. She was beautiful. I cried.

Lmao Grimmjow is being a tsundere after being teased by Ichigo XD
Whooo boy, plenty of delightful scenes in this ep!

  • Neliel returned and sure enough, the first thing she did was reunite intimately with Ichigo through that flying oppai-tackle. Now she has the choice to be in her kid or adult form at will, thanks a lot Urahara! GYAAT!

  • Ichigo is so busy fighting the big shots, that Yoruichi doesn't even have the time to share their plans, and why is bro so surprised she got a little brother> That caused Yoruichi to tease him with the prospect of Ichigo being her fiance. Oop

  • And then he rose from disgrace and came around with his classic Icrizzgo on Riruka. Man's got her all flustered up, lol, how adorable!

Poor Orihime has to stand back and watch the unskippable reunion cutscene unfold with a blank stare.
This ep is crazy, many more characters are joining in, and of course, the final fighting stage is conveniently set as both the Ichigo advance squad and the 13 gotei squads have arrived at what was once the Soul King's palace. Truly the Endgame of Bleach.

Grimmjow is back and so are Nel and Riruka. Riruka was especially very adorable in this episode. Ichigo made her blush, that was cute. Also, looks like the Royal Palace is no more and all that's left of it is the new resting place for Yhwach and his minions. The battle is about to begin. Yoruichi and Ichigo's banter is the funniest to me, since the beginning of this show.

The HOLY NEWBORN

Also, very striking how Nel warns Grimmjow that she's still Espada 3 and he's Espada 6. Aizen is no longer the ruler of Hueco Mundo, yet the Arrancar are still using the ranked numbers as a status designated by a man who ruled them all through the fear of his sheer power. It complements the animalistic nature of Hollows while showing how great of an influence and deep of a scar Aizen left on them. Great touch of characterization and worldbuilding here, and just another case of the sharp but subtle dialogue from this series that you need the media literacy to apprehend and appreciate.

Ichigo with 3 love interests in the same room as him is also crazy.

Somehow I expected more of a galactic night sky for Quincy Soul Palace, mirroring Shinigami Soul Palace's sunlight. But this is more like the black oblivion of Hueco Mundo, odd.

Does anyone have screenshots of the manga panels we can see for a comparison?

Great catch, I didn't even pick up on this myself. Pretty ingenious how Kubo can add depth to his world with sophisticated passing dialogue like this in the middle of a major narrative turning point that's unrelated to the dialogue at hand. 99% of anime do not have this level of subtext, let alone any shounen.

@Arpee9 Lol this is nothing new, Kubo has done this before. He's notorious for using indirect literary techniques such as symbolism, allegories and subtext for his storytelling and you're almost never spoonfed anything in Bleach. Ryohgo Narita carries this tradition with his acclaimed CFYOW sequel as well. The meat of Bleach's substance has always come from its visual storytelling and thematic structuring; it's an art piece, not a light novel. I would be grasping at straws if I was talking about something like Dandadan or One Piece.

This episode was a wonderful birthday present for me, love seeing my boy Grimmjow back in the game.

Nelliel's here too and her adult form is looking bouncy as ever. Many thanks to Urahara. Orihime's jealousy and Giga-Chad trying to cheer her up was pretty hilarious.

And speaking of returning characters, Riruka was also adorable with her blushing. It's cute how she's such a tsundere for Ichigo. Definitely underrated among Bleach girls in my opinion, probably because the Fullbring arc wasn't very popular, but I've always liked her.

(Oh, and I'm sure a certain Bleach YouTuber will lose his freaking mind once he sees her).

A slower episode as we transition to the next phase of this conflict, but man the Quincy Soul Palace looked cool.

Great episode of transition, the castle transformation was done amazingly. Always a pleasure to see the Fullbringers again. Nel's big boobies crashing on Grimmjow's head makes me much more confident they won't skip the famous Yoruichi pose. Anime of the year

It's really interesting story direction that Yhwach pulled Wandenreich from Soul Society's shadow and basically set up camp in fallen Royal Palace. Also changed name to Wahr Welt, pretty dope! Can't wait to see what Renji does in next episode, since we see lot of Renji crumbs in the OP.

This will definitely become a long battle, and an epic one at that.

There are new characters introduced in this episode, and I really have no idea nor a clue if I watched them from the previous seasons of Bleach... as I haven't read the manga, I'm clueless.

However, Nel is one of the characters I remember... and Inoue getting jealous or something like that makes her too adorable....

But what's more adorable this episode, is that pink or red haired girl. As Ichigo heartfully said thanks to her, she blushed... and it was so lovely!!!

CrazyButNot4UNov 9, 12:25 PM
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Absolute cinema. With the TYBW adaptation, Pierrot solidifies itself as one of the best studios. No TV anime has ever looked as good as Bleach. Just look at these backgrounds, cinematic shots, great character design, and character acting - all of that in a non-action episode. Even nitpickers seem a little too quiet lately LMAO. Another chill episode - it's still the calm before (another) storm

Seeing those iconic characters back in action really brings out the nostalgia, doesn’t it? Grimmjow and Nelliel especially have that unique energy, and the Fullbringers add their own layer to the story. Their return brings so much to the mix in terms of action, relationships, and the overarching story—Bleach really knows how to deliver for its fans.

I must admit I was a bit surprised over the fact this episode was too used for a build-up for the upcoming battles. But it only makes sense, since the upcoming battles will be heated ones!

When Urahara and other shinigami were trying to create that gate to Soul King's place, it took in my ear when Urahara stated they were lacking reiatsu. How? After all, they had all available captains and Visored in there to help them. And if they wouldn't be enough, what about Kenpachi and Kyoraku? It has been stated over and over again how much reiatsu Kenpachi has, but now it wasn't enough? Not to mention Kyoraku who has been captain for a very long time? Kenpachi's case could be explained because he was in battle earlier and went to shikai, so he probably used a lot of reiatsu. I imagine because it was his first time, he probably didn't have any control over how much reiatsu he put in his shikai, but even so... And with Kyoraku? It felt a bit weird. Especially when it was mentioned they wished Ukitake could help them. Just how much reiatsu did Ukitake possess? Not writing about the fact will they just leave him there for later to be picked? Don't know, but the whole 'we don't have enough reiatsu!' felt a bit odd. Sure, maybe two shinigami couldn't really fill the needs of that gate, but they had help. Well, luckily Mayuri had his amplifier ready just in the side.

As a side note, when all the shinigami (and the remaining Quincy) were filling their reiatsu balls, the color of those was very pretty. The fact everybody was golden-colored made it feel like they were truly united at that moment.

On the other side...I suppose Ichigo just has to go with the flow, lol! The fact he was demanding an explanation of 'what's going on?!' was hilarious.

I've to give it to Nelliel and Riruka for both being 'we're on the clock people, so no fighting and fussing over!' It was hilarious when Nelliel took "down" Grimmjow so easily who was all ready to fight against Ichigo. Things seemed really intense for a moment.

I think Orihime's reaction to the fact that Nelliel was an adult thanks to Urahara's equipment was justified. I mean...it's obvious there was a bit of jealousy in there, but also the fact Urahara's 'things' could be a bit more classy. Then again, it seems all mad scientists are a bit eccentric... even so, it's nice that Nelliel can now switch between her adult and child form. She will be a formidable ally! ...and someone has to take care of the big blue cat. xD

The garganda elevator was a nice surprise. It was also neat that they explained it this time better than in the manga. (Riruka looked cute in her new outfit!) And writing about explaining things better...Wahr Welt was explained better. Back then when I read the manga, I remember it puzzled me where exactly the last battles took place. Now we know Wahr Welt replaced Soul King's old place and the upcoming battles will take their places in there. I can't wait for those as those will be just epic!

So happy they made Riruka so cute and well-animated this episode. She's not going to appear much (or at all) after this, so I'm glad they gave her something at least.
I like Nel's new voice. Always thought she sounded kind of awkward keeping the child voice in her adult form.
Finally everyone is in Yhwach's new royal palace and the scenario of the remaining parts of the arc. Ngl Renji's poem plus his focus in the opening and the trailer is kind of weird since in this part of the manga he didn't do much. Really excited with what they will pull next episode.
