I didn't know that hentai wasn't a word used in japan for pornographic anime and manga, instead the japanese use the words eroanime and eromanga respectively.

@LenRea
It is not that bad... At least back in the day it was something original and refreshing. Despite it hasn't aged well, hence the rebuilds.

Your comment made me want to defend it even though I did not like that much, especially after watching it second time as an adult. Congratulations, you made me feel conflicted.
Black★Rock Shooter (TV) is beyond its time arthouse fantasy/psychological drama/psychological horror/action. Should you watch it? See my review.

I only found out this year that the "Electric Soldier Porygon" Pokemon incident was the reason that they started placing "Watch in a well-lit room and keep a distance from the TV screen" warnings before airing anime on TV in Japan. I learned about the incident way back when I was a kid, but I had no idea that was why they used the warnings.

Animators basically get paid minimum wage because it's a competative job and they are easily replacable and also they are held hostage unable to see their family members until they finish animating a new project but I dont care as long as they keep animating more peak 💀......

Dont fact check this just trust me bro......

eiga literally means movie. And anime is just an abbreviation for animation which Japanese people do pretty often. Like conbini for convenience store or terebi for television. So animation eiga and anime movie is exactly the same thing.

And about that Miyazaki quote, it's just something taken out of context. With proper context it might mean something completely different.

Rwby is not anime, Because it is not anime

Anime was referred as japanmation back in the 70s- early 90s era

Not all anime fans watch anime( Not even manga)

Shonen is the biggest genre yet teenagers in japan are the least interested in anime

One Piece is a cartoon

"Electric Soldier Porygon" Is mostly exaggerated though it did happen

Spy family mangaka mostly creates flops before its creation, Where he just got a cheat skill.

https://myanimelist.net/manga/157537/Tenmaku_Cinema Is created by the same guy as food wars AFTER food wars, It flopped, treated like a new mangaka

Buying physical manga in english in all volumes is more expensive then physical full priced retailed games

All volumes of 20th Century Boys can be bought in japan for as low as <$14, (50 cents per manga) in thrift stores

@Rhae eva's symbolism comes from ultraman. Anno LOVES ultraman. to the point he replicated entire shots, and they considered making the units the same height as the 1st ultra. too bad the unit sizes are inconsistent as hell in the show.

Anime facts you didn't know before

Recently found out Anime had a huge influence on the the "Fast and The Furious" movie franchise from Speed Racer's "Racer X" to the tofu delivery guy from "Initial D". Basically "Fast and The Furious" would likely not exist today without Anime.

Some guy named Ken Li wrote some drag racing article titled "Racer X" in the late 90s. This Author lifted the name from the Speed Racer character of the same name "Racer X". This article was the initial inspiration Gary Scott Thompson got to start producing the 1st "Fast and The Furious" movie. Then the 3rd movie drifting was finally introduced into the Movie franchise in 2006 and has had a huge impact throughout the Movie franchise since. The 3rd movie was directly influenced by Kunimitsu Takahashi and Keiichi Tsuchiya who are the godfathers of Tokyo drifting and inspiration from "Initial D" where there is even scenes in the 3rd movie that look like they are lifted directly from the Anime just being shot in live action. They are obvious homages to the "Initial D" franchise where one of the main cars being used in the Movie is a Toyota Sprinter Trueno aka 86.

I cannot bring myself to rate anime that I have completed below 5. Well, it just because I have use up my precious time to watch it. so, the worse you will get from me is 5 (changes may apply)

I'm surprised Pokemon was apparently the 1st anime to cause seizures. Those sorts of visuals had been used regularly since the 80s.

It takes alot of time and effort to create anime btw. Too much time and effort, in fact. IIRC, most frames of animation have to be manually drawn out in anime...even in 2024.
