Norn and Aisha coming to visit Rudeus sets an interesting tone for this episode. They're his sisters yet Norn is a bit more withdrawn compared to Aisha. Seems she didn't get along with Rudeus at first.

I do think this episode is kinda interesting given that Rudeus has to deal with relationships outside of his friends and Sylphy. Kinda felt bad that Rudeus got caught into some drama at school. And..Norn, she needs to be more confident in herself. Seems she's way too withdrawn in herself.

So much for Ruijerd’s return lol. He didn’t even stay half the episode:( But hey, better to be on alert here Ruijerd, one more mention of Eris and dude would’ve reverted back to his one cour old self lol. I mean we already went through so much insufferable shit, not any more of it again, EVER.

Also hey, how did it not take countless back and forth and unlimited unneeded misunderstandings for Aisha to recognize Sylphy??? Because she’s not wearing her superman glasses right now? Lol, I mean she’s seeing her after a LONG time as well, like Rudeus did last season.

Anyways, as one could guess these two sisters are as polar to each other as one could be. We can see where this is going, where we would again be made to believe this “parenting” sort of is a part of his dEvELopMeNt too. Let that be, nothing could be done at this point lol.

Though hope, Rudeus could teach Norn “how not to become a shut-in” even if you’re depressed as hell. Not his expertise, but hey he could try.

Taking care of kids is proving to be one of Rudeus's toughest challenges yet, right up there with dealing with ED.

Rudeus's home is suddenly bustling with activity as his sisters, Norn and Aisha, along with an unexpected chaperone, arrive. While Aisha's cheerful demeanor fills the air, Norn remains withdrawn, leaving Rudeus perplexed by the contrast. Determined to heed Paul's advice, Rudeus decides it's time to enroll the girls in school. However, convincing Norn and Aisha proves to be a daunting challenge. As Rudeus grapples with the complexities of parenting two polar opposite sisters, he realizes that his past adventures and encounters with gods have not prepared him for this new role.

Damn, they really had to hit us with that Eris reminder, didn't they. At least Ruijerd was understanding and didn't dwell on it too much. But man, even though it was for less than 5 minutes, saying goodbye to him again... Anyway, Norn is still as annoying as ever. And Aisha, if you didn't know, you were both made from the same guy's sperm, so that pretty much means you're more than just related—you're brother and sister. And Norn over thinking that being away from her oniichan will make her more happy or whatever... Either she'll learn to realize that having people around isn't such a bad thing, or she'll learn to enjoy being lonely, I guess. And of course, a Mushoku Tensei season wouldn't be complete without a panty joke... This one was actually pretty fun, I'll give them that.

And no surprise there, Norn's already feeling lonely and depressed. Hopefully, everything will be resolved by next episode.

Finally Ruijerd shedding some light to the actual truth. You could see how painful it was for him to see Rudeus with some other girl than Eris.

No Rudeus you weren't suffering for three years cause of Eris but yourself. Assumption is a scary thing. Now just waiting for volume 15 adaptation, it'll be a while before that but oh well.

Aisha's as adorable and precious as ever. Norn though, haven't changed and doesn't want to either for now.

Linia and Pursena lmao, girls can't chill.

Loved this episode. Was mostly setup for next week's episode but it was still really good and I'm glad that the pacing was fairly solid for the amount of content covered without being too bad. Rudeus never had a proper relationship with his siblings in his previous life, literally being kicked out by them in the process before he got hit by that truck. So it is interesting seeing him try to navigate being an adult and helping them adjust to their new lives without Paul or Ruijerd to keep them company, which is more scary for Norn than anything given her hatred of Rudeus since the fight he had with Paul back in Millis. Aisha seems to be adjusting fairly with excelling in her exam and getting to do what she wanted, which was be a maid. But Norn on the other hand, while joining the university, is struggling to adapt and with Rudeus present in the university and being a very popular figure (for good and bad), it makes Norn's adaptation to her new life even more challenging and terrifying to lead her to shut herself in at the end like that. You could tell how much Paul and Ruijerd were key parental figures (one literal and one figurative) that she could depend on for strength, and to leave them both and now be around one sibling which she hates, and another who she does not get along with.

Even Aisha had a little interesting conflict with how Norn was 'getting what she wanted' by Rudeus allowing her to go to the dorms, even if she felt like Norn did not 'deserve' what she wanted for her mediocre score in her exam. You can tell by the way she was raised by Lilia and Norn's grandmother, that Aisha is defined as the 'lesser' sister due to being Lilia's child to Paul compared to Norn, so despite her talents and genius-level abilities, there is still an inferiority complex among her that still is present to some degree. It is a very challenging little period seeing Rudeus have to settle the two of them given he's never really spent enough time with either of them besides very brief interactions.

Good to see Ruijerd again but as on brand with Ruijerd, he immediately leaves after he accomplishes his task. Did confront Badigadi and given Ruijerd's Superd history and Badigadi being the Demon King, you can imagine that the two of them have had their confrontations a long time ago, but that was put aside for the time being. Good to see Ruijerd have a brief conversation with Rudeus and reflect on not just their experiences, but Eris as well. Was nice seeing Ruijerd give Rudeus advice to relax and openly talk to Eris the next time they meet since Eris was truly awful with words and conversing her emotions, and that there might be a clear misunderstanding there. He is the #1 fan of the two of them together, so it was awkward seeing Ruijerd meet Rudeus without Eris there but hopefully, there can be proper closure and context provided to the two of them later about what happened with each other at some point.

Considering out of all the episodes in this cour, this made sense to be the lowest priority of them all on paper but it looks surprisingly really good and fairly well drawn and consistent. Aisha and Norn looked really good, the expressions were there and even Badigadi and Ruijerd looked nice here. Rudeus' design was really good here for the most part and probably the best in the entire season so far in this episode. Beyond that, this episode did a very good job in exploring the next steps to the lives of Rudeus, Aisha and Norn and capture a bit of the complexity present in their sibling relationship. Rudeus when Norn and Aisha were babies, wanted to be the best big brother possible and that will be really put to the test given Norn's fear of him and struggles to adapt to her life without her father and Ruijerd. It was nice seeing him at least call Aisha out for belittling Norn like that because of Norn being 'worse' than her in everything, since Norn has her own struggles and things she is going through as well.

Another great ep that focused nicely on the distant and conflicted sibling bonds between Rudeus, Aisha and Norn for different reasons. Linia and Pursena were complete goofs with good intentions, so good to see Rudeus clear the misunderstanding with Ariel, Luke and Sylphie without any actual damage taking place and episodes of drama over it. Was more important seeing Norn find life difficult after moving to Ranoa, wanting to distance herself from Rudeus and Aisha by living in a dorm but still having to see him around as a big figure around very important people sometimes like Ariel, or be a 'gang leader' to people like Linia and Pursena showing that he has power and stature in the uni which can cloud over her life even at school. Dont help that she's a normal kid and not a great student, which can be taxing knowing how much of a prodigy his brother is in university and even Aisha was when they lived together even before. She was quiet, timid but internally suffering there at the end with feeling lost and scared to leave outside, kind of like her brother when Eris left him or the life Rudeus lived before his reincarnation. Hope Norn and Rudeus can resolve their relationship and not let the past with Rudeus hitting Paul when both were kids, cause irreparable damage to their relationship forever.

Ruijerd has escorted the two young Greyrat sisters to Rudy doorstep. A very welcome sight seeing Ruijerd after all this time, Rudy hasn't seen him in years now. Ruijerd did a great service bringing the sisters all this way. I'm glad that Rudy could get this reunion so Ruijerd could see the progress Rudy has made. Bringing up Eris definitely stung but like Rudy said he's with Sylphie now so there's no reason to rethink anything. Ruijerd had a tense standoff with Badigadi on his way out but otherwise he walked away again into the sunrise. Rudy is now left to take care of his two little sisters, which while not action packed isn't without its struggles. Rudy is basically getting a preview of what parenthood will be like. Take care of younger siblings is a good way to see if you have the temperament to have kids. Rudy is getting sour and sweet with Norn being closed off and hostile to Rudy, and Aisha is very kind and considerate and tries to help Rudy. Norn doesn't do well in school, doesn't make friends, doesn't want anything to do with Rudy. Being away from Paul and Ruijerd has completely closed her off. She's only ever seen Rudy in a bad light and that hasn't changed at all upon being in Rudy care. Rudy has his work cut out for him trying to help Norn come out of her shell and not be closed off.

It's a shame Ruijerd was only there for 5 minutes. He also gave them a headpat like he did with Rudeus and Eris.

Linia and Purena woke up this episode and chose violence. Also, Sylphie cant keep her mouth shut around the princess about their private life lol.

It made a lot more sense that even a month into school why she didn't know where one of her classrooms was. I hope we see Norn's character development soon.

We certainly didn't get a good look at both the sisters, and one episode is definitely not enough to describe a character, especially when they've been thru a lot of shit since childhood......., Norn must've had it hard.
Rudeus is understanding Norn & Aisha didn't get those happy childhood family times times, so it's hard to trust someone they've already had prejudice about in their minds.
It would certainly be fascinating to see Rudeus help Norn overcome her social anxiety.

A few more eps needed to elaborate on this one.

Good episode overall, but felt fast forward as always.
7/10.

P.s. Sylphy telling Ariel about her night is the most women thing ever. She's a certified women now, Stop picking on her bullies.

It sucks that Ruijerd left so early. I wish he stuck around for a bit longer. He's probably my favorite character in this show. Hope he returns soon.

I love Aisha. Even though she's a half-sibling she still loves her brother so much. It reminds me of my love for my older brother when I was a kid. It really boiled my blood when Aisha said that some people called her mom a concubine. That's such a messed up thing to hear as a kid. I'm glad Rudeus comforted her by telling her it's not true.

It's also pretty cool she's so academically gifted. But she still wants to become a housemaid. That seems like a flex. It's also a bit of a shame. But she can do whatever she wants I guess.

Now, Norn I'm not too sure about. She acts so distant. On one hand, I do understand why she acts like that. On another, I really dislike the way she's treating her siblings. She almost seems like a mini-Rudeus with how gloomy she currently is. Hopefully, someone will get through with her...

Bruh wth is wrong with Linia and Pursena? Why did they throw their "boss" under the bus like that lmao. Rudeus is lucky he could use his wife as an excuse.

Another very good episode! It is a pleasure to see Rudeus counting on his wife Sylphiette. The young half-elf woman is both experienced and wise. Aisha and Norn are not only cuties, but brilliant girls as well, but Norn is going to be a harder stone for the soft water to drill... The experienced Rudeus is endlessly understanding with his younger sisters; his efforts will not be wasted and he will improve his relationship with both Aisha and Norn.

I understand Norn very well. As child whose only attached to the father (Anddd well, Ruijerd aswell for obvious reason) Being forced to live with Rudy must be very uncomfortable.

Not to mention that her nature being asocial even make her situation at school (which she don't even very interesed in the first place) seem more in a pickle.

I'm looking forward to see how Rudy gonna do about this problem.

One thing I didn't understand is how sad was Aisha when Rudeus said Norn could go live in the dorms, saying that Norn could get what she wanted but Aisha couldn't. I mean, what Aisha wanted wasn't to stay with Rudeus? She got what she wanted as well.

That's the first drama in Mushoku Tensei that in my opinion makes no sense. But even though, it kinda broke my heart when Aisha thought she was being treated in a worse way because she's only a half-sister.

@JoaoNeto11 It's because Norn did not 'earn' her way to get what she wanted unlike what Aisha had to go through in her perspective. Aisha had to achieve good results in the entrance exam to be able to convince Rudeus that school is unnecessary for her and that being a maid is what she is happy to do. Norn got mediocre results but still gets what she wanted, which is living at the dorms away from Rudeus; all while treating him negatively in the process in a disrespectful manner in Aisha's perspective.

Aisha has an inferiority complex in a way given that Norn is Paul and Zenith's child and Aisha was the child of the person Paul cheated with. Norn being allowed to do whatever she wanted while Aisha had to earn the role through the exam felt imbalanced in her eyes, which made her feel a bit jealous and that preferential treatment was there as only being a 'half-sister'.

@animejas I see

But I just went to the manga to compare with the episode, and in the manga (chapter 90) there's a part in that drama where Rudeus says that if Aisha wanted to go to the dorms or go to school, he would let her bc she got a perfect score, meanwhile, if Norn said she didn't want to go to school and instead just help with house chores, he wouldn't let Norn do that, because of her below average score.

I think if the anime put that part, the solution of the drama would make more sense.

It's been ages since I read this bit of the LN and I had completely forgotten how annoying and exasperating I used to find Norn. She has her reasons (and she does get better) but boy was it hard to empathize with her.

For the life of me I cannot remember what Ariel did with the panties in the LN? Did she give them back? Because she's a bit...special .

@JoaoNeto11 The anime did kind of show that though. Rudeus initially wanted Aisha to go to school but she clearly rejected that and only wanted to be his maid, which he accepted because Aisha was more than smart and capable enough to be able to pursue whatever she wanted. Since Norn's score was low and he already felt like Norn was against living there in the first place, he felt like putting her in the dorms would be a better environment for her to be more comfortable and make friends than at a household which she feels incredibly uncomfortable in. With Aisha's score, Rudeus trusted her judgment that she was on the right path since she is proven to be smart enough to do so while Norn still didn't have things figured out with what she really wanted to do beyond wanting to live away from Rudeus no matter what. Rudeus wouldn't just allow Norn to only do housework since Norn's issues would still prevail at being in a household constantly she would feel miserable in and that going to school can allow Norn to gain more experiences, career paths and a direction that she hasn't quite found yet. Aisha's direction was to be Rudeus' maid and she would be a genius student on the same level as Rudeus' program so he trusts her judgment of what path she wants to follow as a result, since it is genuinely something she will choose to do over going to school.

It’s fascinating to see how Rudeus's growth is tested through his interactions with Norn and Aisha, beyond his adventures and magic. The anime does a commendable job at exploring themes of familial forgiveness. I hope they manage to adapt Norn's reserved nature and Rudeus's attempts at reconciliation well. I didn't remember the part where Rinia and Pursena stole the panties, that was funny.

@mshfqtny The anime did not, and that user is being an idiot. Pursena and Linia basically went around sexually harassing a ton of underage girls on the misguided belief that it would make their boss happy and as a result, the news reached Ariel whom proceeded to give Rudeus a stern dressing-down for it. In the defense of those two, Rudeus "tamed" them through sexual assault, albeit at a time when he was at his worst mentally. Not really an excuse, but it's the best context they had for what could lift his mood.

The anime made it clear that it was not okay and the two got rightfully reprimanded in excess.

@Kamquat420 Unfortunately, there are youtubers who saw the first dozen episodes and assumed that was all there was to it. One of the top reviews is even some idiot claiming the second cour makes tons of offensive jokes about women and is sexualizing minors. I took a look at the profile, and it's very obvious that it's a troll profile.

I reported the profile and the review. Likely chance that the profile doesn't get banned because there is also an issue with MAL's recruiters being garbage at screening for competence.

This season is gradually climbing up with directorial prowess. The first two episodes were good quality SoL calmness, and acceptably boring ig. The third episode was very well directed and so was this episode, as they made the viewer feel the characters on screen, whether it be Nanahoshi's distress, Rudeus and Ruijerd's reunion or Rudeus and Norn's dynamic, all were really well handled. I think we're back to C2 quality tbh, although the animation is sort of lagging behind. It's more like they're being conservative with it tho, unlike the awful execution in C1.

Not a bad episode. Norn and Aisha have come to Rudeus' house. One line stuck with me: "It may seem that way to you, but she's doing the best she can.". Well the episode wasn't bad, but holy shit what happened to this series' animation? The episodes are starting to look worse and worse.

So, I guess Norn is going to be a hikikomori. Wonder what will Rudeus do about that

@ItzBeeM I think she just has low self esteem. She needs to grow out of it, probably
