It was an alright episode, nothing too different from the previous although I guess the enemy in this one was more dangerous than before.

It looks like some of the story will have school segments as well. Teru/Shy shouldn't feel guilty though. It's not always easy to save people or the world from danger. She's doing the best she can and that's respectable.

Another solid episode. Quite a grim one actually.

Teru is so brave. I'm proud of her. :)

Teru being aware of Koishikawa, now that she's still recovering from her leg injury from when she saved her. But Koishikawa doesn't resent Shy, just as she doesn't dislike Teru either, so everything from Teru's POV is just strange. Indeed, the evil that the heroes will face, is a mechanism like Kingdom Hearts where people are manifested on curses, as wha Koishikawa has been wearing no thanks to a boy who forced his ideals on her, though that's the cry of her heart from deep within.

Teru was in the same situation as Koishikawa, that their parents passed away because of them. But once she acknowledged that, the curse came off and Shy was able to save Koishikawa out of her doom.

A good job for Shy, though calamity will strike soon.

What the actual fuck, I’m honestly speechless after all of that. This went from 0 to 100 so quickly and I am not disappointed at all.

While the concept of bringing out the darkness in people’s hearts is nothing new, the way it was executed with crystalized limbs and darkened crimson eyes was a bit scary with the distorted voice of Koishikawa. Has it been used in other anime? Probably but who cares. Speaking of Koishikawa, I thought her voice sounded familiar than I realized this is the seiyuu for Chitoge and Rin, pretty cool!

That mysterious boy has definitely something to do with the threat that Unilord spoke of, but is he this threat or is he a piece of something even bigger..? Teru really is a brave one, despite being so conflicted with shyness yet unwilling to not help those in need as Japan’s hero. I hope Koshikawa makes a full recovery and it’s relieving that the two of them made it out of that situation relatively unscathed. That sequence with the background of her being in the shadows combining Teru’s own background with her talk with her grandpa kinda felt powerful.

Really surprising episode, got chills from watching it. (No pun intended)
Hope everyone has a great start to the week :D

Well they followed up a great opening episode with a really good and significantly darker second episode. I love this show and Teru so much already!

I didn’t think that Shy would reveal herself to Iko so soon, but given the circumstances she had little choice. It was cool to see both of their backstories interwoven so well throughout the episode. They actually have quite a bit in common.

That’s a lot of guilt and self hate that Iko has been living with for all of these years. I can’t imagine the pain she was going thru blaming herself for her parents’ death. Sucks that the villain took advantage of that, but in the end Shy was able to reach her.

Villain is definitely giving off Kamen rider vibes with using the darkness in peoples’ hearts to turn them into monsters. Going to be tough to take him down for sure.

Both girls can finally move forward now that we know Iko is grateful for being saved and Teru is happy to do the saving lol. Start of a beautiful friendship.

The start was good but since the Shy appears in the scene this stopt that liking for me, in the future probably this will be most good but in this moment I don't very like this scene

The main problem with this is that nothing is know about shy's history, then it is so difficult to emphatize or have an emotional connection with the moment because nothing is know about shy motivations or her thought, then the moment remains like something simple

"If you feel guilty, then please pass on some kindness to someone else"

Wow, I don't really know what to say, but that was probably my favourite episode out of all the anime that came out this season so far. Very solid directing, even if the overall movement outside of the more impactful scenes was kind of limited. The curse that Koishikawa went through exposed the darkness in her heart, in that she despises herself for asking for help, being saved when the people she loved weren't saved, and she felt guilty because of that. In the critical circumstances, Shy revealed herself to Koishikawa, something I didn't expect to happen so soon. The backstories were your typical sad ones, but the thing that stood out to me was Shy's grandpa said to her about living for others, and the happiness one can get from that.

Overall, such a great start to this anime that revolves around the notion of heroes, living for others, and the concept of helping others, how it makes you feel. Brilliant work.

That's some serious self-hatred. Usually I'm not fond of characters dwelling on their insecurities and guilt without doing anything about it. If you're alive you have the chance to become stronger, become a better person and to help others or spread kindness. Glad this message was delivered so nicely and to be fair, Koishikawa was also under influence of dark powers. And you gotta acknowledge her for prioritizing the safety of others over her own which showcased how deeply rooted her feelings of guilt were and that she's geneuine. If the character episodes keep up that level this should worth watching.

I’ve never been a fan of superhero related stuff. The only superhero stuff I kinda liked was Batman but I liked Batman cause it felt more realistic (to an extent) the other superhero stuff just felt bland or really over the top.

But I’m living shy so far. I really like Teru she’s a great mc. The show has pretty good animation and personally I find very intriguing.

I knew that blond haired boy from episode 1 who was seen in the background was a bad guy. He just had bad guy written all over him.

This is definitely one of if not my favourite thing airing rn. This show has so much potential and I hope it doesn’t go downhill during the second half. I find sometimes with seasonal shows that they drop of during the second half.

But regardless I’m loving this so far.

I’m gonna keep enjoying this each week and not questioning the fact that Teru has a floating shrimp companion that speaks to her with telepathy.

It was the same boy who appeared when debris almost fell on top of Koishikawa's brother in the hotel. It seemed strange to me to see him so calm with debris weighing at least 1 ton falling in front of him.

This chapter is when the manga managed to hook me and I really like how the anime managed to adapt it. A small scene was added ( the one with Ebio ) which made the pacing a bit better compared to the manga. The dumping of emotional trauma from both parts still felt a bit weird but still very impactful. The animation felt a bit stiff in multiple part of the episode but the visual aesthetic and shot composition managed to counterbalance it in my opinion. I know it is a bit cheesy but I personally really like how Shy just decide to stop, listen and take upon herself everything Iko has to say. Despite the super hero and Sentai obvious inspiration, there's also something very magical girl-ish about this whole second part of the episode and I really like that. One thing I do find really interesting however is that there's a lot of foreshadowing for elements that will happen much much later in the manga and that wasn't in those first chapters originally. It makes me wonder how much of the manga the studio is planning to make into an anime.

I like the op, a bit generic and a lot of reused animation from episode one but still solid and good looking.

So Shy's power is more than just her suit and her physical ability, Shy is so pure of heart that it directly destroys evil. By allowing the girl to get all of her emotions out and just beat on Shy, this let her work through those emotions and eventually Shy's kindness and purity overcame the evil in the girls heart.

She shouldn't feel guilty. Didn't someone tell her in the last episode that heroes can't always save everybody? It's a hard lesson that even Superman had to learn at some point.

Koishikawa, Iko basically dealing with survivor's guilt is also a real thing, and really tough to deal with. I liked how Shy helped her to overcome it.

Loved the visuals and the colours in the OP!
And we got to see a glimpse of the blonde boy with the creepy smile, too.

So the boy is actually one of the bad guys, and apparently he is a known bad guy to Ebio-san and Unilord? Interesting.

Both Iko and Teru had guilt for the failed rescue, and Iko was actually dealing with guilt from when she was still a child.
I wasn't expecting the heavy emotions, but I'm really enjoying this psychological aspect of the anime.

Episode 2 was an absolute banger. This show will be one of the best NEW anime airing this season in my opinion. Unless they somehow drop the ball. This story writing is excellent, the world building is great and why is no one talking about some of these animation sequences, especially the transformations!? Jeez, this show has me locked in 👏👏
