| A very good first episode, and it's animated by Mappa~ of course the animation are good. A married baby face Ninja protagonist.... Or is he a really young guy? The female 'protagonist'(?) Is actually pretty, and she's actually looking badass as well .. but the ED... Looks like she is molested.... The OP and The ED is creepy, very interesting indeed. The hell paradise is an interesting place as well. Hope his wife is still alive.... |

| Looks like this will be an interesting and fantastic adventure anime. Good start, I like how gruesome it is, and I'm looking forward to see the dynamics between these two characters, hopefully it won't disappoint. I might check the manga after this season. |

| Ugh... I'm conflicted. I bailed out on this manga very quickly. I recall reading 2-3 chapters and dumping it because I felt the storytelling was amateurish. The main character's edgy nihilistic attitude was such a major turnoff. I could not care less about reading it anymore and dumped it. However, when it comes to this anime, MAPPA being involved in the adaption got me interested enough to look into it. It's similar to Jujutsu Kaisen in the sense that the source material is subpar, but I felt MAPPA could elevate it through their animation. I really loved the animation in the OP and several scenes throughout this episode, but goddamn was it a challenge to watch because of how annoying the characters were. |

| If it's 2 cour of 13 eps each to adapt the entire manga it will slightly be rushed, but the last 2/3rd of the manga drags quite a bit so if it's handled well I don't mind it. Solid start, the manga is definitely overhyped but still a more than decent shounen that could definitely be superior once animated (just like demon slayer). |

| this was...ok. I do like the ideas that show sets, portraying immortality and isolation and stuff, but I find it hard to get all too invested. gabimaru is already very boring and they try so hard to make him sympathetic with all these flashbacks and exposition dumping but this being his introduction makes it come off so shallow. gabimaru is extremely dull and the other characters aren't much better |

| The OP was really good! I'm a bit biased about hells paradise because I read the manga and have my problems with the story, so I'm curious how this is now implemented as an anime. The start was great, I'm looking forward to the next episode. |

| I've already read the manga and I don't think it's worth even calling something original or shit as it uses the basic shounen formula but just differently interpreted. Gabimaru is similar to Thorfinn, a guy who tends to question about his own existence, but Gabimaru is immortal, which is I guess, gets to be explored later on. Honestly the pacing is fine but the composition is quite inconsistent, not in an exaggerated way because there are like parts e.g. x is better than y because y is very limited while x is sort of an amazing grace of a direction. Neat OP though and ED sounds good. |

| So was Gabimaru just in denial about his feelings toward his wife? I was about to say. The demands from his wife didn't seem too difficult or unreasonable. It's a shame about the culture in Iwagakure that they cut their female children for dumb reasons. Gabimaru's wife(I don't think we've been told her name yet) still looks very pretty tho. So now, he's on his way to obtain the elixir of life that will free him of his crimes and ensure that he can live with his wife without issues. The plot seems a little bit too convenient but I enjoyed the first episode and I'm looking forward to more of it. The OP wasn't to my tastes unfortunately, the visuals were amazing but I'm probably going to be skipping them more often than not. |
