If the Revengers are killing for revenge, then the Nagasaki Trade Union is liable for everything else under the supervision of general overseer Shishido Saimon, wanting to transform Matsumine's opium trade into one hell of a major business.
Usui spending time with a fair few followers of a deceased artisan of appreciating his work, and along with Kurima's Taishin drawing of his deceased wife, brings about foreboding. The Revengers tired of waiting for another job, and Soji gets restless enough to go back to his old habits of gambling to pass the time.
Usui back at the Chapel to report of Qing's Liu Wen-Lin's failed eradication of stopping the opium trade in Nagasaki, and also probe further at the purpose of the koban coin, which he is given vague answers and told that everything is God's plan, bearing Liu's deep grudge against his enemies. This is something that Kurima, only now, realizes the purpose of being a revenger after all that's happened in his life, plus his artist role.
Soji back to the gambling den to find someone the nun from the Chapel playing the gambling dealer, and it's a psychological game that he always gets it right with his luck each and everytime. But he's not amused by the game, and other than getting his karafuta cards stolen, being interrogated of Usui's actions and Kurima's reasoning, these two have something going on that the other Revengers don't know anything about.
Very concerning to start churning the plot points altogether, this feels wonky.
With only 2 episodes left, I'm not sure if the ending will be rushed. The pacing has been all over the place. I don't know how certain plot points will be resolved in 2 episodes.
The Chapel seems to be giving the Revengers the run around, but Usui knows the truth that The Chapel wants the Nagasaki Trade Union's opium. Soji has fallen for the gambling trap set by the nun from The Chapel and is being asked why Raizo was kept alive.
man this is getting really tense!
hoping the very last moment shows Kurima living his new life as Taishin painting a picture of Yui smiling for him ^_^
Things keep turning up but I share other's sentiment that, with just two episodes left, t it might get a bit rushed.
We still need a good all out confrontation with the other revenge team, and just that should warrant a full episode. Then we need both a Shishido showdown and a proper fall of the Chapel, and to have that all jammed into one episode... Will feel rushed and not even give space for much in terms of our main charas. :c
Alright, I'll be honest, I didn't get anything from the first half of this episode lol but it looks like our group of revengers are running out of places to hide as they're being attacked from different sides now.
And now it looks like Soji is being forced to get info for the church. Also I LOVE the music that played as that nun was messing with Soji. It seems just really eerie at least to me. That was a pretty cool scene but the rest honestly didn't interest me much
The anime is almost done, but not gonna lie... I've been trekking through this anime and it's just been kinda meh for me. I've just been watching kinda blankly. Like nothing resonates, I'm not fond of the characters-- well, I guess while I didn't like Liu at first I was happy to learn about him and what his deal was. Still, I just can't bring myself to care about most characters here and by extension it feels like I can't connect to the plot as much as I might like to. Unfortunately, I don't think the anime will be able to turn that around for me in two episodes. Even if it does, it still kinda sounds like something that should have been better episodes ago. I don't even wanna say it's bad, "I'm just not feeling it" is pretty much the sentiment.
Another great episode showing the complexity of history. This is a especially bone-chilling and gut-wrenching story if you understand what the opium trade did to Asians in the 19th century.
