I'm on episode 7 and getting restless, does it get more intresting? :) I really like goku and bulma but I really not too bothered yet, I know most shows start slow. |

YES!!!! the first arc is setting up most of the main characters and themes of the dragonball world but you grow to appreciate it more later. The second arc starring episode 14 onwards is much more intresting and the drama and action is more intense. |

Not really. The tournaments are pretty enjoyable and a few other arcs as well but everything with the red ribbon army and all that is super boring. First tournament arc starts at like episode 16 I think? It gets boring again right after in my opinion. Hopefully you like it more than I did though |

Basically what Deanomac2010 said + it's really great to see Goku grow in the original to Z. Somehow he's kinda an underrated character since people always shit on him for being simple, but there is more than meets the eye. |

It does, you’re just in the exposition phase of the story maybe, ask this when you’re at least 50 who’s in but if you’re already restless than skip episodes you don’t like or whatever you gotta do cause it does best believe. |

Oh yes. It gets better and the transition into Dragon Ball Z is smooth. I recommend watching DBZ Kai (instead of the original DBZ) as it follows the manga more closely and cuts out filler entirely once you're finished with Dragon Ball. Make sure to skip any filler in Dragon Ball as well. |

Honestly I liked it from the get go, but I had watched Dbz prior so I had knowledge of it and was pretty bias about it. Anyways, the next arc onwards should have what you’re looking for. And the 2nd half of the series is simply amazing. Don’t forget to skip filler btw. |

Maybe I'm just out of the loop with some of this since the Dragon Ball series is the only long shonen I've bothered to watch, but I really didn't notice the filler. I guess I haven't tuned my filler radar yet, but the only stuff that seemed like filler was the ridiculous amount of time spent calling back to stuff that happened previously, which I can acknowledge is reasonable to have when you're not binging the whole thing. What are some examples of filler that should be skipped? I felt like some of the red ribbon arc went on too long, but it just seemed like a mid arc instead of filler. |

May sound sexist but both are written by women and are heavily cased in romance. Dragonball is entirely absent of romantic themes, with little to no social drama unlike everything you enjoy. I'm not trying to make you dislike it i love dragonball, but realistically might not be your style. It has a complete absence of female characters except Bulma. Have you read Slam Dunk? Thats a Shonen with a much bigger cross appeal. Or JoJo which is also very well received by female audiences and arakis written for shojo mags. |

Of course it does, definitely keep watching it. Been watching this series for almost a decade now and it's still one of my all time favorites even if it isn't the best in terms of writing or the most consistent in its quality. Do yourself a favor and continue the ride, it's worth it! |

IMO OG dragonball is way better than dbz because this is akira toriyama at his best!!! His humor and comedy is second to none!!! Every character is important and has a purpose since in dbz it’s mostly the Goku Gohan vegeta show!!! A lot of slice of life content. Plus almost no fillers!!! |

Depends on why you are watching Dragon Ball. If you're watching for amazing fights like Super or Z, you won't find them. The fights in Dragon Ball are more technical and technique based rather than raw power level. If you are watching for story or character, just keep at it. The first ARC is slow but important for world and character development. Lots of Dragon Ball is wacky adventures so if that isn't for you then maybe Dragon Ball isn't the right anime for you. |

sarahhale said: I'm on episode 7 and getting restless, does it get more intresting? :) I really like goku and bulma but I really not too bothered yet, I know most shows start slow. DEFINETLY!!! The first arc is the most boring due to it building themes and it's focus on comedy, not to mention that Toriyama was still finding his footing with Dragon Ball. The first tournament arc starts somewhere before ep. 20 and this arc is absolutely amazing. From this arc onward it gets more serious while still keeping it's lightheartedness. Not to mention that with each arc it gets better and better (The Red Ribbon Army saga is a little less enjoyable tho) I recommend that you watch it 101%. I've been a fan for nearly a decade now and Db as a whole is my favorite anime. Hope you continue to watch and enjoy the father of all Shonen anime !!! |
