Studio Mappa is now officially the #1 best animation studio in the world, finally surpassing Ufotable
| After the inevitable MONSTROUS success of Chainsaw Man Mappa will never be able to go back to their normal animation level again. The next Chainsaw Man seasons must maintain the same god-tier animation in order to satisfy the mainstream. This means that studio Mappa as we knew it will no longer be able to exist. They've basically just become Ufotable 2.0 but on steroids due to their now infinite supply of talented freelancer animators. I guess this is what Manabu Ohtsuka, CEO of Mappa, was talking about when he mentioned that "Chainsaw Man will be a new chapter for studio Mappa" in his latest interview with Crunchyroll. Thank you Ufotable, we will always remember your awesome work, but no one can stay the king of animation forever it seems. Not even Ufotable. |
