The average 200ish-page volume always takes me an hour to get through, and if I'm fully immersed without any breaks it might take a little over 50 minutes. I'm curious how common this kind of timing is.

I will take Bleach as an example in my case.
It took me around 30 to 50 min max.

For some old Shoujo manga (with a lot of text) it takes me about 45 to 60 min.

For vagabond and berserk it was 30 to 60 minutes.

For some average Shonen romcoms (6-10 chapters per volume) its anywhere around 15 to 40 minutes.

Well these are just estimates and it can vary a lot in different cases and for different manga.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

I can relate to this because Bleach volumes were taking be 45 to 55 minutes where as Naruto would take me about 1hr and 15 minutes. It made me realize Naruto is a lot more wordy than Bleach even though the have the same amount of pages per vol.

About 30 minutes. Some films with few lines take only 15 to 20 minutes.

I dont have much experience with Naruto manga but yeah bleach has a lot of actions and the talks are sometimes simple so its easy to read chapters quickly. I dont always have a timer with me but I am sure I have read some volumes of Bleach with in 30 minutes as well and most of the time I usually take is to admire and gaze at the beautiful art of all the characters.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

Not too long, depending on how many chapters it has & how many chapters I want to read.

Around an hour or more if it has too much text, I take longer since I read in Japanese and tend to look up the meanings of words I don't know.

Probably anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. It really depends on how much text there is and if I like it or not.

In average probably ~26min. I am pretty inconsistent with my reading speed so sometimes I finish a single volume faster or slower

Really depends on the work instead of the volume size.

Example, Oshimi Shuzo's manga involve a lot of show rather than tell (i.e. less speech bubbles) so they take no more than 20 minutes.

Manga that have more words than art, like Holyland, take a bit more than an hour.

On an average, it takes 1 hour or less to complete a volume.

Not long for me, it certainly varies, but regardless: no rush! Enjoy it for what it is in as much time as it takes you to do so.

It depends on the series. There are volumes where I've taken basically 10 minutes, and volumes where I've spent around 20-30 just letting everything sink in, or if there are way more panels or way more dialogue/exposition to read through. Of course, the size of the volumes matter too and the ones I spend 10 minutes on are the manga volumes based off Jump series like a Bakuman for example. Some volumes have way, way more pages.

Depends; usually 20-30 minutes
Some of you never watched Bakugan Battle Brawlers on TeleToon in 2008 and it shows.

Not long. I have bought the volume, gotten about a quarter to halfway through just reading it while waiting around for the person I was meeting up with sometimes. It depends on how much text, how much of the art I'm looking at for context and time I have. I don't always though as I usually finish them way later after that halfway point as I want to spare the time I have with the volume. That or because I bought the new one I am not finished with the last one so I go back and read the last one, finish that and move on to the next one again.

That's for physical though if digital then yeah I just read a bit of chapters each night from a series just randomly I'm not actively attempting to finish them straight away just whenever I feel like reading at least a chapter or 3. If I really want to get more out of it or it's got shorter chapters I breeze through them no problem in about maybe an hour but depends on the series I'm reading.

Depending on how wordy the manga is 20 to 30 minutes if it's not full of dialogue but if it is up to an hour. Special exception for Ooku which took me an hour and a half per volume just because of the oldy English and all the dialogue.

Not super long, probably around half an hour or so if I'm sitting and reading. But, if I'm only checking out a few chapters a day then a bit longer. It mostly depends on how much I feel like reading.

Usually takes me one to two hours to read a full volume. Maybe it's because of the manga I'm reading but I'm wondering how people are reading volumes in less than 30 minutes unless they're just scanning through pages.

It takes me about 30 mins to finish a volume of One piece but some volumes have more dialogue so those will naturally take longer

I'm currently reading Berserk as well, and it normally takes me an hour more or less to finish one volume.

I read the first volume of Dandadan today and it took me probably an hour as well.

Depends, but I need more time than most of you. Some bubbly shoujo might only take 30-45 minutes, but in most cases I think 60 minutes are more realistic for me. But it also strongly depends how I feel on the day.

Depends how long the chapters are, but normally it can take from around an hour or more. I read a lot of manga that have longer chapters so it takes longer, like Dungeon Meshi and Magus of the library? Those chapters are long lol, amazing but long.

If it's the normal sized manga, then maybe it'd take me 45 minutes, but if I really enjoy it, it'd still take me about an hour as I love to commentate while reading lol.

About 20 minutes at average. When the manga doesn't have a lot of text like Gantz, it can be even 5-10 minutes.

I never thought about the timing in minutes, but usually I split a whole volume in about 2-3 days. I like to take my time in order to enjoy the story as much as possible. I enjoy looking at the artwork, especially the characters' facial expressions, as I'm reading. This allows me to not only read the story, but also feel the emotions.
Maybe it's just me though. It seems like other people read manga a lot faster :)

Manga like Death Note and Monster take longer because there are so many words a page (Death Note especially). Death Note has so many words I think it’d work beautifully as a novel. But then you wouldn’t have Obata’s artwork.
