It's still quite a bit of responsibility as my job at the finance place involves making sure i can identify potential counterfeit bills, checks, etc including reviewing customer history. In comparison to my old job, it's a much different level or kind of responsibility and that speaks highly about how much more stressful my previous job was. My old job had significantly higher responsibility, physical labor and less pay. And time flies at my new job too. That's not something that always happened at my old job. It's a blessing. Oof, you got your phone stolen at work? That is not okay in the slightest. I would high tail it out of there. Best of luck to you.

To each their own. :) I used to be like that too. I don't know why I changed. Can't solo watch pretty much anything anymore.

We went sightseeing around beaches, museums and art galleries. My favorite location we visited was the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens.

Wow, I've never heard of Rarotonga. It's really remote. Must've been absolutely peaceful and relaxing, i presume. Yes, I'm aware of your visit to Japan. I recall you saying you eventually would've liked to go again. Was that your second trip? It'd be nice if you are able to go this year. :)

I've been doing great. I had my gf over recently in January and we got to do a lot of sightseeing in my city. One of the best times I've ever had with her. :) I applied for several jobs back in December and got a call back in January. I've since been working for a financial company. It's been about a month so far. It's kinda boring not gonna lie, but it's better pay than my last job and significantly less stressful, imho. My other job paid very little for the amount of responsibility I had.

I've since been watching a lot of movies with my gf since I last spoke with you. As much as I appreciate anime, there's some writing you just won't find in anime that you can find in movies. And vice versa. It's incredible. Some of my most favorites I've watched were Fight Club, Hateful Eight, Gone Girl, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, CoCo, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. The list can go on. Unfortunately, however, I haven't really watched any anime as of late without someone accompanying me. I don't have the slightest clue why I lose interest so quickly by myself. Only things I'm watching atm is Initial D with a friend of mine here and there when I visit him and a short comedy anime with my gf.

How have you been? ^^
Trustful Feb 21, 2018 2:04 AM
ah, seems you found me on fb, that works
Trustful Feb 21, 2018 2:02 AM
its just the more popular version of skype but quite a bit more community based. would you have skype?

yeah, of course, im not sure if I have watched many hidden gems but I do know of some, most of the older shows, I actually havent watched yet. only watched bebop and champloo last year
Trustful Feb 21, 2018 1:44 AM
do you have Discord or anything like that, makes things more convenient.

and yeah, gotta love the shows that were on tv, will always have a place in heart next to nostalgia.
Trustful Feb 21, 2018 1:26 AM
lol yeah, i mean, given my background, ive been watching stuff that you can classify as anime since childhood, I personally wouldn't count pokemon as anime at this point. but watched things like doraemon, crayon shin-chan, all the iconic shows only really japanese people would actually watch probs ;p

but i do remember watching inuyasha when i was 5 or 6 or something.
Trustful Feb 20, 2018 5:20 PM
Thats good to hear, ill have to compare the lists myself later on, but was surprised to see how much you have watched as well.
Toarujisuru Jun 5, 2017 1:11 AM
I totally wouldn't want you to be on mal while on your trip. There's so much more things you could spend your time wisely on while you were on vacation than to be on this site.

Tbh, those are all good songs so it's a very difficult pick. No, Shiny is the best one. ' c_ '

Nah, I haven't seen it. I usually avoid remakes like the plague. I just don't feel like I'm getting anything new out of 'em. Yes, I'm becoming more and more of a Ryan Gosling fan lately. Drive is a simple movie, it's been done before, but it's done with a style that's hard to come across. That style is what I like most about it.

Really? I didn't really think I could ever see you getting into those long running shounen series.

Yeah, Chinese anime and manga are slacking. Wake up, China.

No.. I still haven't seen it. Don't kill me. haha.

Wow, glad you had fun. Did you try any new foods? Which was your favorite?
Toarujisuru Mar 21, 2017 4:38 PM
I've seen Moana too! It was a fun movie. I really liked the song shiny. Which was your favorite song from the movie? I feel the same. I didn't feel all that much for La La Land. I liked the opening intro sequence, but the overall movie wasn't so amazing. The most recent movie I saw was Drive and it may not be anything too special, but I really liked it. More than my gf, lol. We watched it together. I will admit. I like the character played by Ryan Gosling far more than the movie itself. That kinda character is rare to see.

You do? Oh boy! I hope you like it. Ping Pong is one of my favorites! Just don't go in expecting "teamwork" kinda sports play. It's a very good series in general.

Yeah, she'll certainly never forget how badly she wanted to kill me afterwards, haha. She actually visited me again in January of this year. :)

Which series are you talking about again? The twin detectives??

Dark plot in Nanbaka? Really? omg lmao. Now that it's over I suppose I don't have any excuses. Will watch Yuri on Ice.

Being busy is good. It means me no harm. I am well. Thanks for asking. Hope you are too. Sounds like you are. :>

I haven't finished it, but I would rate it as an 8 thus far. That's generally what I rate that i really enjoy while watching and leaves somewhat of a lasting impression on me. It's not amazing per se, but it's definitely something that entertains me more than most anime have managed to do recently. Yeah, speaking of that, I've recently become more invested in real life movies as opposed to anime because it's different than the medium i've been so used to for years. Recently watched Whiplash on the return flight from visiting my GF and I fell in love with it.

I get the feeling you wouldn't like Shakunetsu because the dialogue is very dull. It's overly moe and while the matches in the series can be pretty interesting and maybe even intense. I just get that feeling you wouldn't like it due to these reasons. Not to mention it incorporates a similar aspect that of Ping Pong: The Animation with it's story rather than with ping pong itself, but does not pursue it as effectively as the former did.

Teenage romance can be pretty cliche in itself, haha. I like satire. That's good to know. Looks like I'll have to make Girlish Number one of my watches next year. :) I just wish all the eps were the chuuni doing stretches. That aside, I'd want it to end too.

I did actually. She left me a hickey on my neck even though I told her not to, lol. All my co-workers knew what was up as soon as I came back to work, haha. I went to an amusement park called Knotts Berry Farm. It was really fun. She normally hates intense rides, but I made her get on a large swing ride. And at the time she was oblivious but we sat in the back and according to the laws of momentum, the back is where the swing goes highest. Safe to say a piece of a her soul died on that ride. Meanwhile, I went on this and got motion sickness. Luckily, I recovered after about an hour. I don't regret it. It was great! I got on plenty of other fun rides, but that was by far the most intense one I rode.

Isn't it great? To try a new form of media or even from a different country and finding completely new ideas? It's wonderful.

Er... no. :P I'm not really a fan of Nanbaka. No, I have not started Yuri on Ice yet. It's still not over yet.

Oh and happy holidays! Merry Christmas.

I'm glad you like it. Yeah, it takes awhile for the new display pic to properly upload. It's especially difficult if it has the same file format (jpg, gif, png) as the old one. I learned that if you just use a different one then the last, it'll update on the spot, however, png is the highest quality so I always go with png and would prefer to wait.

Mmm, it's got historical action. It does seem like it'll get a lot of episodes, though. I would recommend it - but when it's fully completed. Udon really doesn't have much going for it, tbh, but I still like it somehow. Probably just cause it's relaxing. I figured you would at the very least like it. You're right, however, that it is pretty shallow. I can tell you right now you wouldn't like Shakunetsu no Takkyu. Just take it off your list. I don't really know what 3-gatsu's got going for it either, but it got an award so it's gotta be something.

Is 12-sai at least recommendable? I kinda wanted to try it cuz it has a unique take on romantic love, but I didn't know if it would approach it too dramatically. Really? Ajin as an anime more enjoyable then the manga? I've only read 3 volumes, but that has to be wrong. More pervy than the last season? Hmm, maybe I will start s2 after all. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Would you recommend Girlish Number? I heard it's pretty satiric. You're actually keeping up with Kaitou Joker? lmao. Wow, you really are watching all those. I can't believe you.

She doesn't seem to think so. She actually didn't want to go. I might still have a week to visit her after my finals and before she goes on her trip.

I watched the first eps for Nanbaka, Drifters, Shakunetsu no Takyuu Musume, 3-gatsu no lion, Long Riders, Mahou Shoujo Ikusei, Kiss Him Not Me!, and Udon no Kuni.

Out of all of 'em my favorite is by far Drifters. Still planning on watching Yuri on Ice!!! Udon no Kuni is very relaxing. Kiss Him Not Me is pretty funny, gotta' keep up with that one. I'm rooting for Asuma. #teamasuma Long Riders is by far the worst one, imo. The main character is a freshman in college that still acts like she's a freshman in a high school. Takyuu Musume isn't bad. The games are interesting, but the dialogue is really weak, lol. Aand Nanbaka is... really silly. Just that. 3-gatsu I can tell will have more going for it, so i'm letting it pick up steam ahead of me so i can sorta marathon it lil by lil.

As romantic as it sounds, unfortunately, she'll be going to Mexico with her family for the holidays. Thus ruining any chances I have of visiting her for the winter season. I'll probably have to visit her next summer instead. Kind of a bummer.

That's good though. Work that is exciting and tiring makes time fly by quickly. I enjoy my work and when I have busy shifts with good sales + speed of service I feel so content at the end of the day.

Sounds like you're a lot more content with your finances than you were months ago. :) I'm good. On my end winter is approaching. That means that sales will be much higher at my store for the next 2 months. Been good though. Got a good bonus last quarter. Hopefully, this next quarter can be great too.

No worries. There's really no rush. I don't want our conversation to feel like a pain to reply to or anything. Reply when you're ready. That's all.

An artist I follow on pixiv came out with some new artwork recently and it reminded me of you somehow. So I made you this display pic. Use it if you'd like.

Hope you've been doing well. ^^

I've actually jumped back into watching airing animes this season. I feel like I can actually keep up with some of 'em. #feelsgood

I actually found out that tickets will be more expensive in January so maybe I'll visit her right near Christmas. :> Yes, most definitely, the support is most welcome.

Yaaay! Y A T T A ! New job get. Hope you like the new environment. What kind of work will you be doing?

That's good. You should be fine then. Definitely know the difference between the symbol for male and female bathrooms, though, haha!
Toarujisuru Sep 10, 2016 7:22 PM
It happens. Some series seem interesting at first glance, but sometimes there's just not enough to make it something to keep up with. And it's not necessarily the series' fault either. It's just what we like and what we don't.

I'll more than likely be visiting her soon again. Probably in January 'cuz plane tickets near the holidays would be expensive. I should mention, however, that she told me her mother is totally on her side. She really liked me and is trying to reason with her father to be more allowing with having his daughter, my girlfriend, visit me. Here's to hoping.

Nah, still haven't finished Parasyte. Kinda hard to. School + Work + Relationship. I would probably be able to squeeze in more chapters if I had a more stable schedule, hehe. My shifts are seldomly mid-shifts like 9-5. I usually either open or close. When I open I have to be up by 4am until mid afternoon or come in the afternoon and close past midnight. Usually I'm so tired afterwards that I just sleep.

A lot has happened in the past few months. Our assistant manager got sent to another store to improve their speed of service. We got 2 new managers, one of which is our General Manager now a.k.a. my boss. I like her. She knows what she's doing. We actually had an inspection today during her and my shift and we scored a 95 out of 100. :> The other manager is also very kind and sweethearted. I like the new managers. Ultimately, I am happy thus far, but as you know, people change. We'll see if they stay consistent.

Yeah, if you like one author's works it makes it easy to get into another of their works. Yeah, I would agree. There's something about 20th Century Boys that's interesting. As a whole, though, I feel like the plot or goal of Monster is amazing.

Good luck and remember to try to familiarize yourself with Kanji that will be very useful for traveling. That sounds really exciting, though! I'm happy for you. Especially, Kyoto and Osaka. Personally, I've become more interested in that side of Japan as I've grown older.
