NOTE: THE TOP 300 ANIME BY POPULARITY, INSTEAD OF JUST THE TOP 100 IS NOW DISALLOWED.
If you want to submit these, please do so in the intermittent roulette instead ^^
I also removed the limit from submitting things from the last 2 roulettes, as we have many people playing and quite the bit of variation anyways. Please don't resubmit the same anime every month. If I see people doing this, I'll consider reintroducing the rule.
For those who are new, in the monthly Roulette everyone submits an anime, at the beginning of the following month every anime submitted gets randomized, and you end up having to watch the anime you received. You have two months (preferably one) to watch your anime or you'll end up penalized, so be careful. I advise to read the rules if it's your first time participating, everything's there. New accounts, or accounts with 40 or less anime watched might be banned from entry depending solely on the mod's opinion about whether their profile is trustworthy or not.
0) Accounts with less than 40 completed anime that participate for the first time, as well as those which look fishy (at my own criteria) are banned from entry unless I give them specific permission. If you haven't watched a lot of anime but still want to participate, feel free to PM me and (at least for now) I'll probably let you in.
1) Anime you cannot submit:
Hentai, as well as their "capped" versions or anything which main (and almost only) appeal is showing characters in sexual positions beyond the shadow of a doubt. (e.g. 25-sai no Joshikousei or Bible Black, ). Shows which main (and almost only) appeal is the arousal of the viewer, regardless of a potential lack of sexual scenes. To clarify, most of the shows described here are commonly called "mindless ecchi". The intention is being lenient with this, but the worst offenders won't be allowed. (e.g. To Love Ru, Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, Kiss x Sis).
Anything you think is bad. This game is not to make people watch bad anime, but rather to give people anime to watch that they might not normally watch. I reserve the right to ban an anime from entry if I suspect that the person submitting it is trolling and ask them to use a substitute (this is not directly related to whether I think the anime in question is good or bad).
Anything from the two previous editions of the roulette (or already nominated in the current one).
Anything longer than 30 episodes, assuming normal runtime. Longer anime might be okay if they're shorts, and shorter might not be okay if they're longer than normal. Just calculate 12 hours and see if it's longer (or not). You can't submit multiple anime because your anime is much shorter than that.
Anything shorter than 1 hour. People in this roulette have 1 month to watch something, and it should be at least minimally long.
Anything that hasn't been subbed yet. You need to be able to provide a link to a non-shady non-paywall sub if asked.
Airing anime.
Anything that's not an anime (ie Avatar). As a rule of thumb, if it has a MAL page, it's anime enough, and if it doesn't, it's not.
2) You must watch your anime within 2 months. The ideal is 1 month, but I know sometimes one just doesn't have the time to finish it, so you have 1 extra month without penalties.
3) You can submit a substitute anime in case yours has been started by a minimum of either 25% or 3 participants. If you add an anime that everyone else in the roulette already has seen, I'll put that entry on a 5 months cooldown and use the substitute, if there's any. If there's not, or your substitute has the same problem, I'll pick a random anime from your 20th percentile of your ratings (I may change that number in the future, I've never worked with percentiles before). If your mean score is higher than 8, I'll add a layer of personal opinion to that randomization and re-randomize if I don't think the anime is good enough, regardless of the score. If your mean score is between 3 and 4.5, I'll randomize with everything higher than your mean score and add the same layer of personal opinion. If your mean score is lower than 3, I'll do the same thing with every anime in your list.
If someone has watched every anime submitted every substitute anime will be checked to see if they can receive at least one of them, in which case the anime submitted by the person who named a substitute will be exchanged the same way it would if they had submitted an invalid entry. In case there isn't a valid substitute, the person whose anime would be assigned to that person via normal process of randomization will be subject of a process similar to the one described above, making sure that the recipient hasn't watched it yet. If there's no valid anime in that person's list, another roulette user will be chosen randomly for a random roulette submission.
4) I reserve the right to change these rules at any time. I'm not perfect, don't try to abuse the rules just because I missed something. In any case, I will try not to apply rules retroactively if they don't benefit users, unless there's something blatant.
Penalizations
Penalizations are in effective the month you drop your anime. You have 2 months to watch your anime, and after that time it will be considered dropped. If you don't read the anime after the deadline, you will get penalized with a 4 month penalty time. If you finish your anime your penalty will be reduced to 1 month. Note that penalizations doesn't stack and run out independently.
You can also declare your anime dropped during the month you got it instead of waiting for the time to run out. If you do that, you'll get the same penalization. This is useful if you're 100% sure that you won't pick it up again, because your penalty starts one month earlier.
Penalization time is long, and sometimes you get something that you really cannot stand. You have the choice to say you don't want an anime (it's explained later in this post), although it's not unlimited if you haven't read/watched/played/whatever the source material or an adaptation. For situations like this, we provide a few options to not watch the anime assigned to you without getting penalized.
If your assigned anime/manga is based on a source from another medium (e.g. manga, light novel, visual novel, video game, etc.), you can choose to read/play the original source in place of your assigned anime/manga. Completing the source material will count as completing the roulette. There is no cooldown for this option, meaning you can choose to watch/read the source material for any roulette.
You can ask for your anime to be re-rolled. A re-roll allows you to swap out your assigned anime for a different anime. Your re-rolled anime will be randomized from the roulette's pool. The cooldown for re-rolls is 2 roulettes, meaning you need to complete 2 more roulettes before you can use a re-roll again. Completing the re-rolled roulette does not count towards the re-roll cooldown, but it does count towards the skip cooldown.
You can skip the roulette after being assigned an anime without incurring a penalty. You will not earn any points for this roulette if you use a skip, even if you complete your assigned anime in the future. The cooldown for skips is 5 roulettes, meaning you need to complete 5 more roulettes before you can use a skip again. Using a skip does not count towards the re-roll cooldown.
If you have watched the source of an anime and you don't want to watch the adaptation, or if you have strong feelings of animosity against it (you have to say why, and I won't accept the likes of "I don't like the genre" as an excuse (I'll definitely keep in mind if you systematically try to avoid anime for no evident reason), please SAY SO before the randomization starts. To say that, if you watched the source you don't need any specific format, but if you have other reason (strong feelings of animosity) you have to stress that you do not want the anime by either bolding or underlining the not. Once everyone gets their anime, the only reclamation I'll accept is that you already have your anime in your list or that you already told me that you didn't want it in a proper way.

I'd love if you let me know in the comments that you finished your anime. That way, you can discuss it with other members (especially the one who submitted it) and it makes it easier for me
Not sure if you'll accept this reason, but I'd prefer to not get Kimi to Boku. I have it locked into a spot on the MAL 2022 AWC and I'm doing the challenge restriction where I have to watch everything in the order listed. I have like ~35 cours to watch before I get to Kimi to Boku's spot, so I don't think I'll get to it by July 15th.
