So I started the komi-san manga some time before the anime announcement, then I put the manga on hold as anime was coming.
And I have readed manga till the 10th episode and I rated the manga 7 but I enjoyed the anime much more and it's 8 for me.
So anyone else feel that anime is better than manga.
I am only taking for chapters which are adapted not whole manga.

I only have read the first volume of the manga but it seems like the anime is wayyyy better. Animation and voice acting just make it a million times better.
The right mindset when watching an anime is hoping that it will break your top 10

I'm in between, equally enjoyable for both of them but I prefer the artstyle in the anime because it's 10x a lot more beautiful however, I prefer to how the story goes in the manga.

As far as I know, the anime has adapted the manga chapters perfectly (with 1/2 chapters being skipped), so that means they’re the same in that aspect. But considering the anime: has motion, VA, color, ost. That only makes the anime better. That’s how I think of it anyway.

I don't like the series but it feels more fitting as a manga to me with the style of humor and pace/length of segments and use of textboxes constantly.

I would like to quote the same thing that anime man said, "an anime can either elevate or bring down the experience of the manga, as it has more elements such as sound tracks, motion, OSTs etc. if you like an anime, good, if you don't, well now you have a good manga recommendation."

However, I beleive that both manga and anime give an experience that is exclusively limited to them. So the feelings you get in the manga is different from the anime.
Not saying which is good, but they are different. So if you have FOMO, it's better to consume both of them.
That's what I do

Well anime is almost a perfect adaption with like one or two chapters being skipped or something. So it’s up to personal preference. I do prefer the anime over manga

I agree, this adapation exceeded all my expectations. Animation, ost, wholesomeness of slice of life, delivered feeling of reading manga for first time but far more enjoyable imao.

I think one of the problems with the Anime is that, there's a lot of beauty-shots of Komi-san every episode, which lessens the unique substance of the concept. Kinda gives it an image of being a comical "Shoujo" anime, instead of it's actual "Comedy, Slice of Life, school" genre.
I guess it's unavoidable when you have animated visuals.
But still, imo, they did a pretty good job in adapting it into Anime.
(I personally love the Anime version of "Najimi"... so much fun that character is.)

EDIT: I was reminded of the OST by the post above (thanks for that)
OP and ED really does feel so fitting for Komi-san Anime. Been playing those music repeatedly this past few days :P

I agree. The anime was a lot funnier for me aswell, and the only “emotional” moment that worked for me was the one in episode 1 of the anime. That one in the manga felt too fast, and the other ones happened so quickly (there was pretty much 1 per episode) that they just felt forced.

Well it's not surprising because manga really got bad as 2nd year of their highschool progressed. Shitty love triagle, flanderization, character design regression, overreliance on information/kometani boxes.

Definitely agree, manga was already really good but anime adaption surpassed all of my expectations.
Manga elitists ain't going to agree tho, they'll always find a flaw in anime.

The first episode may be better. But the rest of the episodes is just average. So overall I prefer the Manga.

Objectively, the anime is better. The story is pretty much the same, I enjoy the character design in the anime more than the early manga stage (the anime adapting the later design), the voice acting is really good, and the animation sometimes too good it almost movie quality. But at heart, I still like the manga more just because I've experience the manga for far longer then the anime and some of the latest chapters are fire. The anime is more like a trip down the memory lane

Gotta have to disagree with this one, I binge read the manga while I rarely have the energy to watch the anime each week.

Still a pretty good adaptation though.

The anime is so much better. It cuts out all the filler that drove me crazy when I was reading the manga. I read up until chapter 100, but had to stop from sheer boredom. The mangaka uses too many of the same tropes, so it all ends up feeling pretty same-y.
