God why...it sold quite good, at least more than any new Shonen Jump manga from these past few months. So Why ??? I don't understand this decision.

Is it possible that only the first part of the story ends and the second part will be in Jump + like Chainsaw Man or in another magazine?
I know this is risky and illogical for a series that isn't even around for a year, but with 100k copies on the first volume, there might be a slight chance.

Saw the tweet too, and bruh I was quite disappointed. This is one of the current WSJ series that I'm looking forward to the most every week and the art is currently one of the best too (well, in my opinion). Plus, it was selling really well. So much potential man... :(

You can blame the management and editor for this, they're impatient and the ToC doesn't help. Even though it was selling well for being a newbie.

I'm so upset

I hope that the series just switches over to Shonen Jump+ instead of being completely canceled

according to this guy's translation, seems more like it's getting to the end of the arc instead of the end of the manga.

Talk about a misunderstanding lol, @wsj_manga want us to have a heart attack or what

I hope this is all just a big misunderstanding we can laugh about. I want to believe. Thanks for this.

A misunderstanding would be nice. But man I've seen the same when Samurai 8 got canceled. I want this one to continue though.

God fucking damn it what the actual fuck is wrong with WSJ? 100,000 copies in circulation with only 2 volumes, why would you axe THAT? Everyone will clown and already is clowning on you WSJ.

100,000 copies in circulation means 100k copies printed, not sold. Volume 1 sold 22k in its first month, vol 2 sold less at 21.5k. It didn't reach its targets and its sales stagnated. With the other exorcist manga in the magazine popping off, it's no wonder they got rid of this one.

Damn, well then there goes another one, at least it didn't enter the U19 club (or was it 18?)

so for those who dont understand why this manga got axed despite the good sell im going to tell you its simply because it was always classed at the last position in the shonen jump weekly ranking ...

Sales are supposed to take precedence over rankings (in theory)

Yeah in theory but for SWJ their ranking is the most important.

Man i think this manga had potential but it was just bad luck that it was published at the same time as another popular exorcist manga.WSJ probably also doesn’t want two manga with a similar topic in their magazine.

we don't know the rankings. we only get the ToC/order in the magazine whiche is based on the rankings but decided by the (chief?) editor.

imo they should've tried boosting it instead and have it run for at least one year. the sales and the quality were already much better than most of the other new series.

I predicted this would happen. I even mentioned it in the forums when I was religiously reading this.

Shonen Jump no longer gives their authors / manga a chance. If it flops, it's getting an axe. They are looking for series that will pop off like My Hero, Dr. Stone, etc.

What a shame, this manga had so much potential, if only corporate greed wasnt a thing and artistic expression was free to flourish...

@mrboko1234 it's neither on Shonen jump magazine unless you are a big name your series is put to vote and those who lost the vote get axed. They do that to maintain the page count. Been that way for a lot of series.
