I don’t know if this were asked before, but I wonder if there was a manga series that you knew was well-liked, but you didn’t think it was for you?

I actually just finished punpun today and yeah, I didn't like it. I can 100% see the appeal and I do have respect for it's story, art and messages but I just didn't care a whole lot for it sadly.

I don't get the appeal of gangsta. Into the popular-japanese-media-involing-gangs-I-absolutely-can-not-get-into bucket it goes along with durarara, bungo stray dogs and K.

not manga but Oregairu was painfully average for me. I cant see the full appeal behind it. Hachiman seems like an edgelord and Hayama is the only good character in the book

I'm with you. I was curious about Oyashumi Punpun only because it's so highly rated. I finish it but I just don't see why people like it so much. It's realistic and depressing (and I don't mind with dark and tragic theme), in a way it's quite unique but I guess it's just not to my liking

I could never get into the Death Note or FMA manga, their plot was confusing and their pacing. Also, way too much dialogue. I might come back to it one the day but idk. But their anime series is awesome though.

I can name a few; One Piece, Tokyo Ghoul, A Silent Voice, Hunter x Hunter, Gantz, Vinland Saga, Kaguya-sama, Akame ga Kill, Claymore, Blue Exorcist, Chainsaw Man, D. Gray-man, Kingdom, Dorohedoro, Slam Dunk, BLAME!, Liar Game, and many more.
Some of you never watched Bakugan Battle Brawlers on TeleToon in 2008 and it shows.

Attack on titan, I've tried reading it 3 or 4 times now but it just feels tedious to read. I like the concept of the manga and the art, but to me the characters just made it unbearable. I might have given up too soon, but they all seemed trope-y and bland to the point that it just wasn't enjoyable or something I wanted to dive into. At this point I've been spoiled enough that I feel like I've read it anyway.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventures : Steel Ball Run. It is by far, my least favourite Jojo. I found it incredibly boring and I just didn't really care for the characters or the story.

Tokyo Ghoul never clicked for me but then again I did do the disservice by having the displeasure of seeing the anime adaption and specifically :RE just about turned me away from all forms of the franchise for good.

Jojo's. I just don't have the time to read it. And I'm currently reading The Promised Neverland.

Kingdom. I don't get it. The main character might be the worst fit for this kind of story I've ever seen.

Oyasumi Punpun for one. I get it but it's just depressing all the time, people being bad to each other all the time, and choosing to be miserable. It's not my thing. I believe Dorohedoro is pretty highly rated but I dont remember. Wasnt a fan of the action, characters, or ending. The needless nudity and gore felt forced. I'm cool with raw manga that'll show intense stuff but that wasnt Dorohedoro. The story was ok but predictable and it kept feeling like progress was being constantly lost with the ridiculous healing and revival abilities all over the place so it just felt like a lot of loitering around waiting for something to happen and stick.

Death note, since everyone already knew the ending, kinda hard to not spoil myself.

Fairy Tail

I tried. I tried from the beginning, dropped. Tried from an arc that manga readers praised a lot. Dropped.
Just couldn't get into it and none of the characters interested me. I knew the basic plotline from some random spoilers. Read the ending and was glad i didn't try to get into it lol

One piece. Artstyle is a bit too cartoonish for me and I don't think I can read 1000 chapters. I don't know if a manga this long has a coherent plot anymore
