| we all know that this is a very controversial topic. I personally use both MAL and Anilist to track anime and manga. Which do you guys think is more convenient and why? Biases aside. |

| People complain that mal looks like it's from 2003 but I actually find it very convenient. Everything is very easily reachable from the home page and I'm not into fancy web design. As for the forums, I don't know. I only evaluated anilist's UI on my brief visit there. |

| I do like certain aspects about Anilist like extended favorites and I can use decimals when scoring shows but overall MAL has more going for it imo. |

| This topic is too old. At least you could make a poll. Anilist doesn't have many important options which MAL has. On the other hand I didn't notice anything Anilist has while MAL doesn't. Yeah it has different scoring systems like decimals, percents, 5-score. But it's not that important. Man, I always laugh how they even have emoji rating system for a "special" kind of people. Forums there almost don't exist. Absolutely dead. Users and their posts there are even cringier than here on MAL. |

| Anilist has decimal scoring and I like the social aspects of having a feed. The forums are hot garbage, they're almost dead and the mods are obnoxious. Mal has its problems but It's simply better because it's been around for longer, with a larger database and much more active forums. |

| AniList got modern web design so i prefer that but im still here on MAL because of the much higher forum activity and lol at people saying they have 500+ anime list it does not matter since you can export your MAL lists to AniList anyway |
| I have both MyAnimeList and Anilist accounts, but i just go with MAL because it's one i use everyday. I only update my anime/manga list Anilist when i want to open it. |

I use both, which makes updating episodes a bit more work, but it's kinda worth it imo since then I have the best of both worlds. I like Anilist's design and features more than MAL (besides the custom list which is better here), and it's also better for tracking seasonals imo (Anichart is also nice), but MAL is much more well designed for forums, discussions, clubs and news. The comment section on Anilist isn't the best design wise. |

| I used anilist before I switched to MAL and I gotta say, I prefer MAL by a long shot. I do like the design of anilist better tho and it allows you to add manhwa and manhua on your list, but in terms of forum activity MAL definitely takes the cake. |
