Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld will have 23 episodes across 8 BD/DVD volumes.

So we getting 11-13 episodes for the first half before split cour than 10-12 episodes for the second half

I might be wrong but I dont think the last episode will be 47 minutes as the cost for the Bluray/Dvd n°8 is 6800 yen due to the fact that there is one episode less than the other 7 vols (7800 yen).

What you’re saying is reasonable. However it seems a bit weird they don’t do 24 episodes. They need do adapt 4 volumes so with 24 episodes there would be 6 episodes for each volumes. I was thinking they would do something like that, so I was thinking that the last episode would be longer than the others.

Yeah.
Still I think is too early to say something about the last episode being 48 minutes as for that to happen Sao needs 2 time-slot.

Now, none of you know how they are going to "adapt" the story. They might do something quite original and still release a whole hour episode just because they are generous and they can. Second most popular move in the industry is having an epic episode with the air time of an "hour". Worked like 99% of the times.

If there is another Anime after Sao broadcast time it will be difficult to have a double lenght episode.
Also as I said before if in the bluray/dvd box they say there are only 2 episodes with a minor price i dont see why they should be generous and give you an extra 24 minutes.

If they’are planning to do so, probably they've already request an adapt time-slot, or at least I think. So, if there's a way to see that, we can know if they want to do that or not. However the most reasonable thing to do is to wait xD

Hmm a 23 ep season huh
thats quite the odd number for a season.

A 24 ep season will allow them to finish them to finish up next winter.
Plus there's also a third season of this listed on here as well which only adds to the questions.

Hopefully will get more news soon.
For the record im fine with having a hour long special as the arcs final fight is pretty impressive.

It's been confirmed since the beginning that Alicization was gonna be 4 cour so 12 episodes listed is wrong.

They Should’ve just Make up their minds ,is it 24 or 12, don’t tell me that they’re going to have a break after December and then we have to wait until spring or summer of 2020 for the rest of the episodes

Still think they should have had a break in the first 24 epiosdes the animation was questionable at times and looked like the staff team where having loads of problems behind the scenes apprently

I remembered the 1st episode of the part 1 is 2 episodes of length. Maybe that's why it was only 23 episodes in total.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
