NZ or SA to win it. This is year seems really competitive with a lot teams being capable of causing upsets, but I still can't see anyone other than NZ or SA lifting the trophy.

Can't help but notice like Welsh media is seriously getting overhyped for the team in the tournament. Probably because of that one week we were No. 1 in the world, some have taken that as to us being the champions of the cup. tbh I think we'd be lucky to make the semis.

Still salty that Romania couldn't qualify. Group C looks great, any one from eng, fra and arg could qyalify to next round. NZ is not that unbeatable since they lost the Rugby Championship to SA. Japan needs great determination and good play to finish 2nd in their group. As to who's gonna win the trophy, I hope a euro team could win but not france.

The top 2 in those groups should easily qualify but I am hoping for Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Canada, England, Tonga, Georgia and Fiji although I am more likely to win the lottery and get struck by lightning on the same say than that happening.

It was interesting to see all teams are making sure their tattoos get covered up in public because of the links with the yakuza.

Currently watching japan-samoa 16-9 first half but jako peyper sure got some sushi rolls from japan rugby asociation, wtf was that yellow? They can win without ref help.

Edit: congrats to japan, they got the bonus point and now with 14 points they only need to a win against scotland or at least a def or off point to qualify to the quarter finals.

Brilliant, the jocks threatened legal action if the game didn't take place. Sore losers like always which is strange as they get so much practice at it.

I was glad to see Japan stuff them. I hear the SNP are going to petition to have the game played again and again until they get the result they want....

@qpr what sore losers they are, rugby is all about skill and respect, just accept the result and move on. They should try to beat them next time. And japan wasn't even helped by the refs like aus was 4 years ago with that free kick.

Ire got absolutely destroyed by NZ, should be a good semi with Eng also putting in a good performance.

japan - SA in a few minutes
rooting for japan but the chance of them winning is close to 0
great win by Wales but just because of the red card, france was the better team

I think Japan has a better chance than you think. They are better side than they were when they beat SA in 2015. Sadly SA is also improved a lot as well...
When Japan beat Ire and Sco they weren't miracles they were just the better team and deserved the win, against SA I think they are going to have to pull of a miracle.

Edit

Shame Japan could't get a try, but its was a good effort. SA just prove to be too much in the end.

Its a shame Japan are out but they came across a top 5 side in the world.

It was hilarious seeing the frogs self destruct. they would be dirty and never get caught with punches and studs down the back but VAR catches everything and that elbow was beyond stupid.

They got what they deserved.

The way France went out was disgraceful. They had that game in the bag and one player had to remove the head from an opponent's shoulders because... reasons, I guess.
Why do we have such stupid players that waste the efforts of their own team and staff in a flash for stupid to no reason?

It wasn't even a dirty game and the other guy did nothing, that guy should never play for France again.

A really dominating performance by England today, the scoreline really doesn't do it justice.
Now just need Wales to win and we can have an all Norther Hemisphere final for the 1st time.

England destroyed NZ and even had 2 tries disallowed, they are clear favourites for the final as I'd have had England - NZ as the 1-2 of the tournament.

Lets hope they don't do an impression of the England football team in the final.

That smirk from farrel was something, I knew England was tough but didn't expect to beat the all blacks. Wales played good but SA was the better team.
I think SA will win, but the final shoul be great.

Also, I found out that Japan will play next year in the Rugby Championship with nz, sa and arg. Congrats.

12-6 for SA at half time, lots of injuries and no tries. Let's see shat happens after break.

And congrats to NZ for winning the loser's prize.

HT in the final, England 6- SA 12. England have had the most pressure and come nearest to scoring a try but gave stupid penalties away.

The next score is crucial.

The French officials have screwed over England from the start, lots of dodgy penalties and allowed a forward pass for the SA try.

Congrats to SA but wasn't that a forward pass at mapimpi? Looking at qpr's comment, I guess I'm not the only one doubting the refs. I kinda knew it from the start for I hate frenchy refs, still, England were supposed to play better.

I don't think that's happening, definitely not next year.

My fault for listening to my stupid commentator and I didn't verify the info. It will be a hard tournament, the distances will be longer and Japan isn't in the southern hemisphere. I'll just wait for some news.

I'm glad Japan got a step up but it will be incredibly hard as we've seen when Italy joined the x nations.

NZ is the same distance away from Japan as the UK but Australia is 1-2k closer.
