A new season is coming but I've never seen it. Should I start it? For reference my favorite sports anime is Run With the Wind

i would say yes, its got a really nice bunch of characters and the matches themselves are very entertaining

also if im thinking of the right thing the music might be by the same person as the show you mentioned (idk though, either way the music is really good)

Yes, particularly the end of 2nd season and the 3rd season. It's made by the same studio as Run with the Wind so you can expect the same level of quality

Yupp especially if you like sports anime.

The most volleyball i ever played was in a primary school gymnasium and I loved it.

"Is Haikyuu!! worth the watch?"
If you like fujo bait dudes going total drama with very little sport.
I mean it's exactly like every sport anime ever created.

Wow, romagia going "critically acclaimed".

For volleyball drama there is Attack no 1
For volleyball partial drama, partial comedy, partial ecchi there is Attacker You! Notice that the dubs I've seen (French and Spanish) are heavily edited in most episodes, so I had the Japanese raw for comparison

I had read the manga of Haikyuu!, first 20 volumes, and while it does well in explaining aspects of the sport better than the above, it lacks a lot in characters and drama. I am surprised it goes for so many volumes. I felt the freshness and originality of the first volumes got lost in the process and things become stale. Will wait for it to finish at least

Yes, it's one of the best sports anime of all time for me. Great characters, great development and great matches. It has all the makings of a great sports anime.

You sure you read Haikyuu? Cause Haikyuu has some of the best character interactions in all of anime.

Very little sport? With just a little more sport we would have a match in every single episode, holy shit.

Like all the characters do is training, matches, and tournaments. Not that I expect otherwise for the kind of show it is.

Definitely. It's one of my favorite sports anime. I think that comment is enough for me to recommend it to other people. I hope you enjoy it if you decide to pick it up eventually!

If you need to ask if something is worth watching, is it really?

But yes it's one of the better sports anime out there.

Naaah, I don't believe you. None sport anime is like that.
Asked once a sport anime fan why those are 90% drama and he responded "Are you mad? If they put realistic sport activities the watchers would be totally bored."

I mean, your statement is an exaggeration already xD but Haikyuu!! tends to be very focused on everything volleyball, training, matches, etc. It's pretty much a battle shonen in sports form so there's a lot of stuff on motivation and growing and the slice of life bits are left for comedy.

But of course...I never watched it.

Heard some anime sport fans complaining about lacking action Haikyuu...so if it's slow by their standards...but maybe they were complaining about some later season tho.

Exactly my point.
You get unexpectedly few battles in battle shounen, like the characters talk and talk and explain their motivations and talk some more and in the minute the real battle starts we get some flashback with even more talking...flashbacks in a flashback...ect.

It's surprising to me that its fans think that Hyouka or Katanagatari are boring...at least the characters there talk about interesting stuff not "I must mamoru because I am otoko thus I must mamoru even more!"...but whatever.

No after the 3rd season it becomes literally a bad one, they defeat the strongest and their area. That hyped to be unbeatable. And yaoi undertones, forced drama, cringy and annoying characters, and whiny brat MC. Im surprised that its "best sport anime" but its MAL they tend to had a shit taste. Watch Kuroko,DnA,ookiku, major, and days its better than this series.
