I think pushing the boundaries of music results in one of the greatest forms of self-expression; experimental post-punk, sound collage, it doesn’t even need to be genre specific, it’s extremely intriguing music

You have strange sound waves you’d like to share? You can find a lot of these releases on either Bandcamp, or Spotify

Weird for the sake of weird doesn't always translate to gold but I do enjoy when the unorthodox attempt leads to something special or unique. Much of this will likely fall under the broad category of "avant-garde"

Keiji Haino - C'est parfait... (excerpt) (strictly speaking, I don't think this is good but everyone should hear this at least once. It's just so incredibly bizarre)

Idiot Flesh - Motherf*cker

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Helpless Corpse Enactment

Stolen Babies - Spill!

Unexpect - Megalomaniac Trees

Pain of Salvation - Used

The Dresdon Dolls - Girl Anachronism

Nuclear Rabbit - Santa Claus is Selling Crack

Mr. Bungle - Air-Conditioned Nightmare

Devil Doll - The Girl Who Was...Death

*whew* That's all I can remember for now.

Gonna be the weeb here

Really ominous Vocaloid music, Glitchy Pop Harsh Noise filled with the lonely vocals of a forgotten proto-Vocaloid, Lala.

Experimental idols decide to do their own "Long Season" and end up making a noisy shoegaze j-pop song.

*insert ""damn Japan you weird!"* meme

A lot of my favourite music could be described as "weird" (Mike Patton projects, Frank Zappa etc) but the most peculiar genre for me would have to be harsh noise. I find very alienating to be perfectly frank though it's got its fans, and that's fair enough.

Take care of yourself

In terms of what I actually like (cause there is a lot of weird music out there but not really everything is enojoyable)

It's some kind of experimental Industrial music...to be fair their other songs are more straightforward and easier to listen to, but still peculiar.

When I'm asked to recommend the weirdest music I know, most examples seem inadequate, or otherwise not worth recommending. A lot of the pop music I like best is only marginally "weird" (it's still pop, after all), but that's what makes it interesting while still remaining accessible... A lot of "weird" (read: inaccessible) music is simply boring, and I do like Merzbow and a lot of other noise, ambient, industrial, etc. music, so that is saying something. I don't consider most of that stuff weird anyway, just to have limited/niche appeal. It's too extreme to be weird. "Weird" to me means something incongruous. Like I said, most of the pop (and rock) music I like is "weird" on some level specifically because of it's unique, over-the-top or incongruous nature, despite being relatively accessible.

At any rate, the entire catalog of "Metalploitation" releases from Metal Enterprises is batshit-crazy:

I unfortunately can't remember the name of the album right now, but it was pretty much a guy screaming incoherently with a lot of slamming in the background. That sounds like complete crap not worth listening to, but there was actually a pretty good and unique sound to it that I enjoyed. I'll post it if I can find it.

I agree completely that pushing the boundaries of music is great. I can get tired of the same old thing over and over again, and I like it when they spice things up with interesting music, vocals, sounds, whatever you can think of.

Emit is just a cacophony of anguished screeching laid on top of some of the harshest dissonant noise you can imagine. Even by black metal standards.

Also I don't know what the hell this is but it kind of slaps

@rian9999 lol apperently there is a sequel too.

i dont believe in this shit being weird. pop music is fucking weird. people just listen to that shit day in day out, millions of them, and its the entire cultural being turned into sound waves

mr removed user up there 3 years ago going "lolicore is weird" yes only because sewerslvt broke through.

@Frostwork LOL this is good but i have and its fucking muslimgauze. ofc i didnt know it but a yt comment for a track was like "u know ur not supposed to sample taht" and replies to it being "lol cuck"

i think it may have been this track. but i swear it was one someone had done a video of with. actually i bet it got deleted because of that, lol.

Anything Bjork has released since Medulla. She was always the quirky "I'm not like other girls" type in the 90s, but her output has become more ridiculously avant-garde with each release. Her newest album is an unholy mess of talk-singing with the most contrived "poetic" lyrics that I've ever heard. It's not even really music anymore since she doesn't even follow the beat when singing, she just completely ignores the instrumental and says whatever try-hard lyric she wants. It's annoying since her first 4 albums were masterpieces of actual great electronic music imo.

Not sure if they are weird/combined but surely are not the usual from the stuff of these genres
for cows I am not sure what is the original track I only know from that one clip, for the second well maybe not weird I am not into that but that's an unsual stuff as it sounds like a mix of hiphop/rap with funk/punk michael jackson/bruno mars stuff or whoever was doing such stuff

Godspeed You! Black Emperor has to have some of the oddest music I've heard [especially the last bit of the video below]
